I actually walked in and dined in a cool nicely decorated dining room. No waiting this time, I got my receipt with a number that they call, when order is ready for pick up. Friendly staff and eager to help you with your order. Location you usually have to wait a long wait especially when the school is out in the area which is Lake Travis High school. No trouble parking in this area especially because it has a very large parking lot. So you either can go to the window or you can dine in. You'll love it! Pro tip: P Terry's over Whataburger, for the win, all day any day. Local to Texas and Austin. Always, always, get the full meal. If you've never gone before, start with the classic burger (or cheeseburger) paired with fries and a sweetened/unsweetened tea. You can't go wrong. Future iterations can include modifications, like adding grilled onions, or going lighter with a lettuce burger (they actually do a solid job at wrapping the lettuce burger). I was pleasantly surprised by a P Terry's in Lakeway and, while I wasn't planning on P Terry's, I turned in to the location upon seeing the sign. A beautiful backdrop, and great timing as it was their 21st anniversary and a special meal was being promoted. Not too busy when I came by on my way home. I was able to walk right up to the counter. I placed my order and was given a ticket number. A few moments later I was handed my bag with my burger in it. When I got home my burger was still warm. Crispy lettuce and soft bun. Burger was juicy. Satisfied. I do have to say this is probably my last time here until ingredients change. Fries - not as good as McDonald's or HopDoddy but better than In N Out. Banana shake - tasty but the banana flavor was a little too sweet and artificial tasting. Review for the Breakfast sandwich. I love the burgers here and decided to give their breakfast sandwich a try recently. Egg is cooked great, sausage and bacon is fine but the sandwich as a whole is just ok. Not bad not great, just okay. The burger bun is just too bland. I don't know what's going on, but this is the second terrible experience I've had at this location. We ordered in the drive-through, my husband paid and we drove off. I opened the bag as we were driving back home and guess what? We were missing the #3 combo, AND both #1 burgers had nothing on them but meat and pickles! No tomato, no lettuce, no sauce. We turned around and went back. They re-made the #1's and I ordered the #3 combo. But I received NO APOLOGY! I took the new order back to the truck and we decided to just eat in the parking lot. The #1 burgers were ok, but the meat was a bit over cooked. The #3 bun was cold! The oatmeal cookies are huge and to die for, lemonade is the right amount of tartness (but strawberry lemonade tastes a bit artificial, so stick with regular), and the burgers are nice are hearty. Oh and you can't forget about the fries. Similar to 5 guys where they're a bit limp and has a nice satisfying chew to it. Very clean interior and walk in line moved fairly quickly. A fast food restaurant with one of the most beautiful locations in the world. * * * Yeah yeah yeah, there is the concession stand - often a fast food chain - that shows up on the top of tourist attractions. The most beautiful view in Hong Kong has a zillion tourists, a whole bunch of souvenir stands, and a Starbucks. Technically, that Starbucks has the nicest view of any Starbucks in the world. But the concession area is crowded, commercial and claustrophobic. I couldn't get out of there fast enough. * * * P. Terry's is in the real world. Actually, make that the super-real-world. It is across the street from Lake Travis High School and Middle School. At 3 pm on any afternoon, it is filled to the rafters with students hanging out before they go to someone's house. Only about 1/4 of the students actually order anything. About 1/2 of the students remember to bus their tables when they are done. But 1/4 of a zillion students is a 1/4 of a zillion in sales. This P. Terry's will never go bankrupt or broke. They sell a huge amount of drinks and snacks to high school kids. * * * The crowd is a mega-wholesome crowd. Remember the burger drive-in in Archie and Jughead? Well you have just arrived at Riverdale. Right next to you are Archie and Jughead and Betty and Veronica. Jughead is the only one eating a burger. Remember how Veronica has a super-rich dad? There are girls with super-rich dads at P. Terry's too. * * * Now about that view ..... 620 at the border between Lakeway and Bee Cave actually runs along the edge of a cliff. On the east side, everything drops away and you can see for miles and miles and miles. You can see all the houses of Steiner Ranch. You can see Mansfield Dam. You can see the wooded cliffs on the edge of Lake Emma Long. You can see Round Rock. You can see London and France. You only see London and France if one of the kids is wearing his pants hip-hop style. But even if you only see Travis and Williamson counties. You still get an amazing panorama. The architects for P. Terry's have made the most of this, with a fantastic outdoor bench area to take in the view. They have a sandbox for the kids and some nice landscape decorating. All of this is shaded from the sun, so you will be cool and comfortable while you take in the scenery. I could sit on that patio for hours and hours. Having a real good cookies and cream milk shake to keep me company with the view makes the view a little more perfect. * * * I have to eat at P. Terry's to get views like this. The Lake Travis kids get the same view out of their living room windows. For them, this is same old same old. The view out of my own living room window is not too shabby. I am on the lowlands. I can only see for one block. But my one block is pretty nice. Now if only I had a real good P. Terry's cookies and cream milk shake to go along with my one block view. read more
