    Beet latte
    Sam M.

I really enjoyed this spot. I'm quite fond of beets so I had to try the beet latte which I enjoyed. I also had the MG Avocado Toast which was on the pricey side, however the golden beets and cherry tomatoes on top were delicious. The atmosphere is modern and cozy and service was attentive. I would definitely go again!

Just heading home after a mini-vacation on Lave Travis, and I just had to stop and give this place a try. No regrets. Fantastic food. Wonderful service. Special shout out to Justin. Thanks for the great service today! I'll come back to try the next hot cake of the month soon.

A great place to have brunch if you are ever in Lakeway! Beware of crowds, as with any brunch specialty cafe on a Sunday morning---especially on a holiday weekend! When I came by this morning, my bf and I were able to get seats right away, since we were fine with bar seating...though it was a tight squeeze and we were face-to-face with the WALL! We were served pretty quickly, and I started off with the beetroot latte. Unlike other lattes I have had in the past, it had a very strong beet taste, which was a distraction from the latte flavor profile as a whole. I was able to customize the breakfast platter so it was vegetarian-friendly, and it was well put-together with poached eggs, rye bread, potatoes, and marinated tofu---so got my protein in! They also had a plethora of sweet treats and pastries. Overall, I would definitely come here again next time I'm in Lakeway during brunch hours!

Today we decided to have a brunch date here! I had heard such great things about this place and I'm happy to say they were right! The place has a great vibe and service was super friendly! We didn't feel rushed and we hung out for a bit to enjoy our coffee. We ordered breakfast first, finished it and then ordered coffee. My vegetarian quiche breakfast special was very fluffy not dense with a nice flaky crust. The side arugula salad was a bit overdressed with the dressing but still tasted good. Next time I would just say light on the dressing. The hubby said his tacos were the perfect amount of taco meaning he wasn't overly full. He had pico, chorizo and potato tacos. The salsa had a nice flavor. My lavender latte was very good. Lavender was not overpowering so I could still taste the coffee which I enjoyed. The hubby enjoyed his iced latte.

The food was ok.I ordered the chicken and waffles. The service was good, and didn't have to wait long for the food.

My girlfriends and I came from out of town, we were looking for coffee and we found this gem. We returned a few days later for breakfast and it did not disappoint. The lavender latte is the best weather is iced or hot. The ambience and vibe is so nice and welcoming. I hope to come to Austin soon and visit this place again!

I really wanted this to be 5 stars because it's a cute restaurant and cute idea but it fell way short on quality and price. The presentation and ambiance was a great vibe but when you think about what you are paying for you'd expect more from brunch. The food lacked flavor and substance. It reminded me of cafeteria food. Eggs were lacking in flavor, pancakes were dull, flimsy bacon, burnt sausage. We had to ask for a lot of things. Salt, sweetener, butter, utensils, napkins, ice for water. Luckily the waitress was friendly. But you'd think that all these things would be thought of with the price you are paying. I'm sorry to say- we won't be back, which is unfortunate.

This place was true to its name and was positively Glorious! Avery took such wonderful care of us and we loved the Pulled Pork Benedict with the apple slaw. The Tres Leches French Toast was hands-down the best French toast I've ever had! We drove in from San Antonio and it was absolutely worth the hour and 40 minute drive and look to do it again in the future.

Visited the cutest breakfast spot for some delicious coffee and brunch. I was surprised at how cute the space was. Servers were attentive and helpful. I ordered the seasonal pumpkin spice latte and pumpkin spice hotcakes which surprised me! Super fluffy and chewy with a nice little bit of sweetness. Not pictured is the adobo bowl which blew me and my bf away. Very tangy vinegary and deliciously flavorful! If we weren't visiting from out of state I think this would be my go to brunch!

    Quiche Lorraine (special)
    Emily H.

Super popular weekend brunch spot - be prepared to wait! Drinks, food, and service were good. The only downer was that sitting near the entrance meant it was pretty chilly with the door constantly opening/closing. I was happy to see a few specials offered - quiche Lorraine and shepherds pie. I opted for the quiche and it was super flavorful with a side of dressed arugula. The breakfast burrito looked great too. They also offer to go options/coffee bar and some yummy looking pastries!

The League Tavern is a gastropub…read more "Gastropub". That word is so 2010's. A decade ago calling yourself a "gastropub" was the coolest thing in the hospitality industry. Now, it is a lost artifact of another decade, along with Swedish House Mafia and Britney Spears. The League calls itself a retro reminder of the eating clubs of the 1920's and 1930's. It is pretty damm good as a gastropub. It would not really want to be an eating club of the Prohibition era. Menus in that era could be pretty awful. Mashed parsnips. Liver and onions. Greens that have been cooked to death. Tough steaks. Low quality lager beer. The Indian Puddings were all right. The fish was great if it was fresh. I wish they would bring back Welsh Rarebit. But the League sticks to a contemporary menu ... And I am glad they do. Their contemporary dishes are just great. I had a faro salad with grilled shrimp on top. The faro salad was everything I would want a grain salad to be. (I have had some awful tabboulehs and quinoa salads in my time.) The shrimp were completely lovely. Prices are high - but that is what comes with being a gastropub. The concept is: Pay more. Eat higher quality. The Lakeway market will certainly support the League in the prices it wants to charge. The selection on the menu - and for that matter the selection at the bar - is fairly restricted. Having a small menu is not a necessary correlate of being a gastropub. Some gastropubs offer you an expansive range of choices. But careful management of the menu choices means that each and every dish can be polished to a high degree of execution finesse. Practice makes perfect. My guess is that the League envisions itself as a neighborhood place - albeit a rich neighborhood place. Their customers are likely to be regulars. The regulars order their favorite dishes over and over. I myself like my bars and grills to be Cheaper, Funkier and With bigger selections on the menu and at the bar itself. So the League is not exactly my style. But what they do, they do well. They are expanding, opening more branches in more locations. They can do this because the League fills a real need in the Lakeway-Bee Cave market. If a Lakeway resident were to invite me to be their guest at the League Tavern, I would be happy to accept that invitation. Especially if they were picking up the check.

I ordered a double meat, double cheese burger with pickles, mayonnaise, and bacon, and it was phenomenal. The bacon was cooked perfectly--crispy, not greasy at all, mild, and full of flavor. They have 3 special sauces... their special sauce (to me was kind of a mix of ketchup/mayo/thousand island type of vibe), one that is more of a honey mustard feel, and the other is a more peppered version of the first one. My favorite was the peppered one. It was great to dip fries in and I also topped my burger with that too! They have beer and wine on tap. The food is consistently good, and most of the staff have always been incredibly sweet, welcoming, and helpful. That said, we had a really disappointing experience during our last visit that felt worth sharing. A younger female employee with a long dark ponytail brought our food over, I think she was a food runner - but she wasn't wearing the Vivel branded t shirt like the other employees. When my husband politely asked for ketchup, she visibly rolled her eyes before bringing it. When I then asked if I could please have a knife (I'm seven months pregnant, for context), she started to walk to get one, took two steps, turned back and said "you can go get it yourself". It felt unnecessarily rude and dismissive, especially given how quiet the café was at the time. We stayed for a while after and watched her standing by the counter organizing utensils, so it wasn't a matter of being too busy. We really like this place and will continue coming back, but this interaction stood out in a negative way and didn't reflect the level of service we've experienced before.
