I like the vibe here at Morning Glory. The food is good, and the service is nice. I came here after a dentist appointment. Was seated in about the middle of the restaurant along the wall. I love these seats cause you can see the coffee station and what's going on back there. Basically people watching. It was a little loud today, so I put on my head set and listened to some music. My server was Joyce and she was sweet. Took my order, which was breakfast tacos and a pineapple mimosa. My drink came super quick, and my food didn't take long at all. I mean like a couple minutes quick. Tacos were outstanding. And honestly as soon as I asked for a corn tortilla over the flour I thought, they're going to fall apart. But they didn't. And when you see the size of these tacos it will blow your mind that they didn't. Good corn tortilla. Scrambled eggs are fluffy, the potatoes are seasoned a little. We came here because of all the good reviews online and left less than impressed. The place is pretty in the inside and the servers are nice. It was alot of families and friends gathering there as well as a few different people working on computers and reading. I ordered a cranberry mimosa was absolutely delicious. What really blew my mind was that the server told me we couldn't sub the toast on the breakfast plate with the tres leches French toast bc it wouldn't "taste right together". I'm now immediately put off because what kinda flavor yall have on your food to where sweet and savory don't go together. So we ordered masala chai, the mango lassi smoothie, breakfast potatoes and bacon. The chai and smoothie were both very disappointing. I love masala chai and drink it often enough to know that this chai tasted heavily watered down even thought it was freshly made. The smoothie didn't taste like mango at all, it tasted like mostly like nothing with a side of banana and oats. I wish they had the ingredients on the menu because my man wouldn't have ordered it if he knew there were bananas in it. This is place is a cool spot to get a healthy breakfast or lunch. When we arrived, we were taken to a table inside and then we asked to sit outside which was not an issue. To prevent flies flying around us, they brought us a bendy fan to set on the table. I had the Buddha Bowl and added a scrambled egg. The mix of edamame, tofu, quinoa, and greens with what seemed like furikake seasoning was delicious. I also enjoyed my Green Juice. My friend had the Panna Cotta for breakfast and that looked yummy although I prefer high protein and fiber. The service was friendly and attentive for most of the meal and they made sure we had what we needed such as hot sauce, salt and pepper. They even refilled my friend's coffee. So we stopped by MorninGlory the other day and it was a good experience. Seems like a lot of people come and go, and they've clearly got a steady flow of business. But I couldn't come to a place like this and not try the coffee. They do the little latte art thing, which is always a nice touch. I also really appreciate that they serve drinks in actual glassware. I'm just not into drinking hot coffee out of plastic lids and paper cups if I can avoid it. Everything came out great. The latte was smooth and flavorful. The burger hit the spot. A great place to have brunch if you are ever in Lakeway! Beware of crowds, as with any brunch specialty cafe on a Sunday morning---especially on a holiday weekend! When I came by this morning, my bf and I were able to get seats right away, since we were fine with bar seating...though it was a tight squeeze and we were face-to-face with the WALL! We were served pretty quickly, and I started off with the beetroot latte. Unlike other lattes I have had in the past, it had a very strong beet taste, which was a distraction from the latte flavor profile as a whole. I was able to customize the breakfast platter so it was vegetarian-friendly, and it was well put-together with poached eggs, rye bread, potatoes, and marinated tofu---so got my protein in! Today we decided to have a brunch date here! I had heard such great things about this place and I'm happy to say they were right! The place has a great vibe and service was super friendly! We didn't feel rushed and we hung out for a bit to enjoy our coffee. We ordered breakfast first, finished it and then ordered coffee. My vegetarian quiche breakfast special was very fluffy not dense with a nice flaky crust. The side arugula salad was a bit overdressed with the dressing but still tasted good. Next time I would just say light on the dressing. The hubby said his tacos were the perfect amount of taco meaning he wasn't overly full. He had pico, chorizo and potato tacos. The salsa had a nice flavor. My lavender latte was very good. Lavender was not overpowering so I could still taste the coffee which I enjoyed. The hubby enjoyed his iced latte. read more

The presentation and ambiance was a great vibe but when you think about what you are paying for you'd expect more from brunch. The food lacked flavor and substance. It reminded me of cafeteria food. Eggs were lacking in flavor, pancakes were dull, flimsy bacon, burnt sausage. We had to ask for a lot of things. Salt, sweetener, butter, utensils, napkins, ice for water. This place was true to its name and was positively Glorious! Avery took such wonderful care of us and we loved the Pulled Pork Benedict with the apple slaw. A very cute brunch locale in Lakeway, tucked away you'd almost miss it. My sister loved her açaí bowl, and the Panna cotta was delicious with lots of granola, berries and a berry compote. Beware it's quite sizable! My husband didn't care much for their unique spin on the avocado toast, so I doubt he'll be back. Idk about y'all, but I'm very picky with breakfast & brunch spots. If I'm paying good monies for breakfast food, I want it to be something I *can't* easily make at home by myself. Well, I'm happy to report that MorninGlory is definitely worth a visit, so skip your breakfast routine and come treat yoself! The cat is out of the bag about this trendy spot, and you can expect wait times of about 30-40min if dropping in mid-mornings on the weekend. Parking can be a bit rough as it shared a lot with other popular businesses. Despite the constant flow of customers, we've always experienced fast and friendly service here. I wish they had more room for folks in queue so the entry way/cafe/host stand wasn't so crowded. Food is fresh and tasty, but with the higher price points I would pick some things over others to get the most bang for your buck. The Florentine Benedict won me over with its balsamic glaze, and the breakfast burrito is my husband's go-to because of its size -- flavors are pretty plain though. I probably wouldn't get the classic pancakes again (unless they bring back the fluffy version). Coffee is solid, and we've brought home some of their beans a few times. Happy brunching! read more

My hubby got the eggs in a wrap and enjoyed it. I was intrigued by the Beet Latte, and I'm so happy that I tried it. Despite being caffeine-free, it was a wonderful surprise--a creamy latte with a subtle hint of beets. I do like beets, so I will be frequenting this restaurant to get the beet latte. So many have asked me to review this new restaurant that is now occupying the old Thai spice location and frankly a shopping center which has doomed so many business owners in the past. The place was bustling with people likely clamoring for a breakfast place in Lakeway. The "morning/afternoon" options are few with lots of savory ingredients. Morning Glory likely won't satisfy those families that simply want a Kerby Lane in the hood like Westlake is fortunate to have. Kerby Lane serves the best pancakes and traditional breakfast in Austin. With Morning Glory, If you're interested in dropping $20 pp++, 15-17min ticket times on overly complicated breakfast items while waiting 15min or more to be seated, than this is the place. Tried the Avocado toast and MG chicken and waffles. For the latter, beware these waffles have the density of fruit cake with an overly savory mix of bacon, spinach, and Gouda cheeses which may be for those they are looking for their entire dinner in a waffle. Top with maple syrup and too deeply fried chicken pieces, it's one of the oddest dishes I've tasted leaving me simply wanting a traditional fluffy Belgium waffle. The chicken was over cooked and leathery on the ends. The tangy emulsion used for zig zag was way to much. At $19, it's insultingly over priced. The avocado toast was bountiful with brightly green avocado with a nice balsamic glaze. At a whopping $15, the gross profits of this item are great for the owners but not for our wallets. Flavor was fine but you taste what you see; avocado, tomatoes, and drizzle. The strangest accent to this dish is a pink smear which was not tasty nor appealing to look at. Perhaps they use beet for coloring of cream cheese. Most chefs would not mark a plate like this. Recommendation: No if you're looking for traditional and affordability or large families. Yes, if you prefer a savory and expensive breakfast without concern for value. With this said, the waitstaff and service were welcoming and attentive but they did look overwhelmed by the moment. Prices being too high for breakfast, noisy, and wait times bring star rating unfortunately lower than expected. read more

We were very pleased to finally have the opportunity to try MorninGlory! My family and I visited on a Saturday morning and the wait was only about 15 minutes. While we were waiting we enjoyed a delicious coffee from their coffee bar where they had very good drip coffee as well as Latte's and other coffee drinks. The menu had a nice variety of items and they were able to adjust the menu for my wife who had a gluten allergy and she was able to have a delicious breakfast scramble. We also ordered the breakfast burrito, avocado toast and pancakes and all of them were delicious! Service was great and very fast and the environment was very nice. It was dense, dry and flavorless with no sauce. Was a little disappointing. I asked someone who came to the table to do something, I can't remember what, why there wasn't any avocado or sauce. He smirked and said no avocado and the sauce was inside. Really not that big a deal but as a suggestion, ask your paying customer if they'd like some extra sauce or something.
