Worth the wait! First time coming here and it did not disappoint. The food was great all around and service was incredible. The chicken was moist and the pablanas sauce was so delicious. 10/10. The service was a tad slow on a Saturday at 3pm. They weren't super busy. But it wasn't terrible. The waitresses were nice. My only complaint was the rice and beans weren't very good. Or like normal Mexican rice and beans you expect. The black beans tasted just like canned black beans. Delicious chips and salsa (salsa has a kick!) to start. I tried the shrimp enchiladas ($18) and camarones poblanos ($24). The shrimp enchiladas were divine - the chipotle creamy sauce was rich and flavorful, and the handmade flour tortillas had a delightful bite to them. The Camarones Poblanos was beautifully plated - 5 jumbo shrimp nestled in a pile of rice, avocado, and poblano sauce. The staff were so kind :) All around a wonderful experience. I was seated pretty soon after arrival. I did not have a reservation and it was around 1:30pm. The service was very prompt and looked really beautiful but my food was cold and under seasoned. I ordered the tacos de carne which comes with 2 tacos, rice, and beans. I will say that the beans were very delicious. I had limited time so I took everything else to go and re-seasoned and everything tasted so much better. I also had a prickly pear margarita with a tajin rim. The margarita was delicious and once seated, you are offered chips and salsa, which were also delicious too. I will definitely be back during a happy hour just for the margaritas! read more

This time I have to give a 5 star rating because the nachos were out of this world including the enchilada suisses which was incredible very pleased with my visit and my dining experience was absolutely incredible. The one negative thing is that the restaurant was a little bit warm in the restaurant so it was uncomfortable but other than that it was a 5 started writing that I'm giving the food was very delicious. I also recommend the margaritas or to die for I love the consistent taste of the Margarita is well made so I was happy as a lark. One thing that I had to correct with my waiter was the fact that when they serve into a lot of swisses it has to have enough sauce instead of a very dry enchilada but other than that they corrected the problem and it was absolutely out of this world I thank you for that very very much as I will let them know that the next time I come in I will expect these inchiladas sweeces to be made absolutely with enough sauce to make the perfect enchilada's suizas read more

Found this place after a boat day, thanks to Yelp. A pretty solid Mexican/ tex mex option! Service was friendly and we didn't have to wait long for a table. We went next door for a cookie as we waited lol. The walls have some pretty cool art, they offer inside seats and a few seats outside. I loved the nachos, having everything spread on 1 big chip is so smart. The queso fundido was also a crowd favorite. My friends split the combo fajitas and said it was pricy for what it was, meanwhile my other friend got a big platter of the chefs special and it was cheaper than the fajitas. I did not get a drink but I heard the margaritas were just okay. I really enjoyed my crispy shrimp tacos though. Really good place overall! read more

There is bar seating and tables inside. We ordered a chicken fajita plate and huevos toluqueños. Free chips and salsa came with the meal, too. The chips and salsa were good, not the best, but I ate plenty nonetheless! The chicken fajita plate was good, but somehow I felt like there could've been a bit more food for the money. The chicken was super tasty though! The huevos toluqueños were my faaaavorite and would absolutely order again for brunch. Had enough to heat up again for lunch the next day, and it was still good! The restaurant is comfortable and cozy on the inside with outdoor patio seating on the walk up. I was there around 2pm on a weekday so it was only moderately busy. I was meeting a friend who was running late, so I was quickly seated to wait for her. I got a really good head start on the chips and salsa before she arrived. The chips are not made in house chips which I prefer but they were okay. The salsa was amazing because it was flavorful and spicy. Sylvia was our server and she was helpful and attentive. I was happy to find that lunch specials go until 3pm. My friend got Tacos Del Mar and it was a very full plate that she enjoyed. I got the Spinach enchiladas and I really enjoyed the rice and black beans. The spinach in the enchiladas was not cooked enough and very bland for my taste. They had great potential because the filling was spinach, onion and jalapeño. It needed cheese or a sauce on the inside do bring it all together so that it was a bit more seasoned and cohesive. I'll definitely return to this location but I'd probably order the tacos Del Mar next time. read more

The biggest drawback for me at Santa Catarina is that it lacked ambiance. It was just too loud inside, and not great on the patio either. That's a big reason I go out- otherwise, I feel I might as well eat at home. With the negative out of the way, our waitress was very pleasant, attentive and informative. The prices were reasonable (maybe a little high). The food quality was above average. It was a "good" evening out, but not exceptional. If you're in the area, give it a try on off-hours when it's a little less crowded. That may make all the difference. read more

Went here today for happy hour and enjoyed an array of appetizers. Lovely outdoor patio, and friendly service. I had the ceviche which was very fresh and limey. Also had the equites corn and it was delicious, just a bit too spicy for the average person. And also tried the chicken mole, which had good flavor and was a large portion. Interior Mexican is composed of regional flavors such as complex moles, a wider range of dried chiles and Mexican herbs, white cheeses, flavorful seafood dishes, tacos al pastor, flans, etc. can't wait to visit again. Service was professional, knowledgeable, and attentive. Ticket times were under 13 minutes. Appetizers (highly recommend the queso and guac with their fresh crispy chips. The enchiladas mole (with chicken) and the enchiladas suizas were bountiful, complex, and well executed. The mole sauce was the most complexed savory mole honestly I can say in Austin area if you like mole without the over sweetness. The shredded chicken inside was actually very uniquely done giving these enchiladas a boost to layers of flavor. Very nicely done guys and gals. Even the studded rice was nice. However, I feel compelled to warn you to check your credit card charges if you eat there, especially if you dine on the patio. About 3 weeks ago, the kids and I were there. The waiter on the patio added $15 onto my credit card over my bill when I paid! I complained and thought the manager would handle it. Tonight, my son and I went back, sat on the patio, and the same waiter charged me $44 too much on my credit card. The manager said the waiter was "out of his comfort zone" with charges. Sadly, I don't feel comfortable going back. I still like the food and drinks but I'll take my business elsewhere for a while. Be careful if you go there. read more

I really wanted to give this place a solid review. The staff was really nice and quick on our order. The location was really cute and my partner and I talked about going on a date in person here. We ordered take out and asked for guacamole, salsa, and two orders of their tacos with a marg to go. Tacos were pretty good but the beans and rice were missing something in my opinion. The reason I'm giving 1 stars is because the overpriced guacamole was literally an avocado in a box with some mashed avocado on top. The chips were too weak to break it up and I am really disappointed I paid $12 for a boxed avocado. And to add insult to injury the salsa was literally liquid.
