I love me some carne asada fries with pollo. I just love all the different layers of the meat, cheese, sour cream, cilantro, onions and guacamole. Unfortunately, we never even got the chance to try the food. My wife and I came here for the first time right at 5:00 PM, which was the posted opening time. When we walked up, no one acknowledged us, so I eventually asked an employee where we were supposed to order. He told us they weren't open yet and asked us to give them another 10 minutes. No problem, we went back to our car, waited the additional 10 minutes, and came back. We then stood at the front for another 15-20 minutes waiting to order. During that entire time, not one person acknowledged us, greeted us, told us they needed more time, or gave us any indication of when we could place an order. We were simply left standing there while the staff went about their business. We completely understand that a restaurant might be running behind at opening, and we would have had no issue waiting if someone had simply communicated with us. What was disappointing was the complete lack of acknowledgment or basic customer service, especially after we had already waited once at their request. After roughly 25-30 minutes past the posted opening time, we finally decided to leave and eat somewhere else. Not a great first impression, unfortunately. read more

Get the Crispy Taco with Shredded Beef!! I ordered the crispy taco, asada taco, chicharron taco, and the watermelon mint agua fresca, and the crispy taco was by far my favorite thing I ordered. The tacos come with this yummy green sauce too. Bf got the Surf and Turf Burrito and it was huge and filling! We went for an early dinner and it wasn't very busy at the time (around 7pm). Cool location. Not too much of a wait time. Visited about 3-4 times. I've tried a few things like the burger, burrito, torta, rib, asada, pastor, carnitas, chicken mole tacos. They're ok. I usually get Daniel's down the street. Figured I'd go for some quality for a change. The food at Pablito's in theory is good. But in reality lacks a lot of flavor. Under seasoned. I didn't like their pastor at all. Their burritos ratios are off mainly rice on top of that under seasoned protein. Salsas were ok. Crack sauce is inconsistent. What I enjoyed the most was the tortillas. Everything else was kind of disappointing and missing the mark of great tasting food especially for the price. I get more satisfaction from Daniel's and it's not as expensive. I would still like to try their pizzas and other items. I just know not to go for what I usually go for when I hit up a taco spot. I know they have something that's worth going there for just haven't found it yet. I'm pretty sure the consistency has a lot to do with who's making the food that day. I went to this establishment two times in two weeks. The first time I had shared a wonderful burrito that was very special because it had a chili in it. It was pretty good with the added crack sauce, and excellent tortilla. I decided to try it again and get a hardshell taco because I'm a fan of hardshell tacos and I like how it came with all the fixings lettuce tomato lots of cheese and sour cream. It tasted pretty good. Now as far as pricing go, it's very high for a non-restaurant establishment although the food is restaurant quality if I'm going to pay those prices, I would prefer a sit down restaurant. I will be back if I want some hard shelled tacos as they were really good. I am open to trying other items on the menu. The service was normal. I did like how they make everything from scratch so it did taste very fresh. Pablito's has been posted in NoHo and Burbank for some time and I've only recently had my share on some social occasions. It was never about avoiding them. Just a crowded LA and Valley landscape for all things Mexican and regional Mexican. Got some asada fries for my first go. It was a pleasure to discover they also do Peruvian so I obliged and grabbed that Inca cola with my fries. The entree was not exceptional but it contained everything you would want in some loaded fries - ample meat, no skimping on the sauces, and the flavor was very present. The second time their party taco pack came through for a LoU season finale watch party. Those delivered tacos rocked. They were the kind of hard tacos you should expect from a full service restaurant like this - 20 tacos all brimming with tomatoes, cheese, lettuce and juicy ground beef. The hot Crack Sauce and chips made it complete. It's easy to have your Mexican favorites in LA, and even be a snob about where you'd rather go. All good, but Pablito's is a worthy stop on where ever your South and Central American culinary adventures take you in the city. As for me, I gotta get at those Peruvian entrees soon. read more

You don't want to go through drive thru because you want something somewhat healthy-ish, but it's late and majority of restaurants are already close. You decide on a chile relleno burrito. You go to Pablito's tacos. Yum. You pay close to $15, and get this ginormous burrito. You're excited and can't wait to go home. You get home, settle in, and take your first bite. It's mostly tortilla, but that's okay.... It's the pay of the first bite. You add your salsa, take another bite. Not much flavor, but that's ok. Just add a little salt. Take another bite nothing but rice.... Hard uncooked rice. Then another bite and you're no longer excited. The burrito is bland with the worst rice, it's probably 70% cooked. You open your burrito because you paid $15 for it, and you'll be damn if you're going to throw it away. You scoop out about a 1/4 pound of the rice because surely it's gonna taste better. It doesn't. It doesn't taste better. The Chile relleno is the blandest hardest one you ever eaten in your life, so you trash it . My experience is this is someone's first cooked meal. I'm thinking the cooks weren't around and all hands on deck started cooking, and this was the result because why would it have a 4 star rating.... Why?? read more

Let's start with the fast amazing service , the fresh baked bread with cheese melted inside . It's cooked in a brick oven with grilled chicken fresh off the grill and fresh veggies . If this is the correct place behind circus liquor. Then this is a review for them. We had seen LINES at this place for the last several months since moving to the area. We Decide to go a few days ago and We basically paid $70 for two drinks. Which were ok. The food was HORRIBLE. The birria had a cinnamon or nutmeg taste which made me Gag. Worst I've ever had. It was not appetizing And I threw the tacos away. They're not the OG questotacos with crispy shells or fried cheese. The tortillas were thick and soggy like fell apart, and there was non melted slimy cheese on it. THE VEGGIE TACOS WHERE SLIMY MADE WITH mushrooms and it was the consistency of snails. We had to throw them away too. The meat on the loaded fries was dry and very very bland. No flavor at all. We feel Completely ripped off with how expensive things are today it's not ok. Waited for over 10 min and paid nearly $16 for a moderate sized California burrito with very little flavor...avoid the Al pastor, meat was dry and underwhelming. The tacos here are incredible! I get the asada queso tacos with no cilantro. Sometimes it can be too overpowering for me, that's why I order it that way. The tacos have that nice crispy cheese that's cooked right onto the homemade corn tortillas. Everything about these tacos are super fresh and tasty. The green crack sauce is a MUST! The service is always excellent but sometimes can be a 20-30 minute wait. So order ahead online. (You get discounts too). I like the ambiance. Food was just ok. Wouldn't recommend the shrimp mulitas but the burritos and asada tacos were decent. Customer service on the other hand lacked tremendously. Aside from being charged incorrectly the guy running the booth was rude! We agreed to pay the difference of what we were charged which wasn't an issue. However, when the guy handed our food we noticed a burrito was missing. Instead of going to check he looked, rolled his eyes, and continued to toggle with the order machine as if he was bothered by us for asking about an Item WE paid for. Running a business is stressful, I get that but we spent $40 here and received no apology for the mishaps. Just to get home and realize a chicken taco was also missing. read more
