I used to come here many years ago. It was never my fave, but it was a good atmosphere and good food. When I realized they'd closed down I was a bit bummed. However, seeing them reborn again was a fun thing to see when it happened, so had to stop back in and see what the rebirth was like and happy to say I enjoy better nowadays; it could be due to some reminiscence, but I think the product is just better overall. Overall, this was a great spot and I'd genuinely love for it to become our go-to neighborhood place since it's so close by. The happy hour food and drinks were both really good, and the atmosphere was solid. That said, I do think the tip recommendations should be based on the pre-tax subtotal, not the post-tax total. We still tipped 20% pre-tax, which is a completely fair and standard tip, but the service noticeably changed once our server saw it. My new favorite Mexican spot! They have an amazing happy hour and the bartenders/servers are so down to earth. They seem to keep regulars easily because of how friendly the service is. I've seen multiple customers greet them by their name. They give unlimited hot chips and salsa and the chips are deep fried and crispy. SO good. Guac is also good, I'd get a medium to share between two. Their blueberry margarita is the best margarita I've had in my life. They recommended black cherry for next time since that also super popular! I got the $20 flight for four and they offer over 10 different flavors including peach, passion fruit, guava, jalapeño, blueberry, black cherry, Jamaica, kiwi, lychee, tamarindo, etc. I'd honestly come back for their margaritas alone. This was my 2nd time coming I felt like the vibe was genuinely off. Customer service was not the best, the waiter did not check up on us once, and the people who got seated after us got their food before us which was disappointing. Food was underwhelming, big plate but very bland. It felt rushed and wish the customer service and food overall was better. I took my family here for Mother's Day in hopes of starting the day off right but unfortunately my family and I felt like it just didn't hit or was satisfying. On a brighter note, will say the first time i came here i got the margarita for my birthday and it was amazing so there are some drink selections that are nice. Finally gave this place a try after passing by frequently on Burbank. It was well worth it, we got a carne asada quesadilla, carnitas nachos, shrimp cocktail and the spicy pasta. Everything was delicious, had great flavor and portions were huge ! Our only complaint was the wait time for food and the shrimp cocktail only had a few shrimps and mostly consisted of veggies. But once our food came out everything was perfect and hot so it was well worth the wait. Drinks are also yummy, we got regular and mango margaritas on happy hour. So, my partner and I went out for dinner on Cinco de Mayo. We knew it would most likely be a challenge anywhere we went due to the holiday. We started at our other favorites prior to going to the last resort Mucho Mas!. We even helped with calling out names to people also waiting for tables, but didnt here it called, because they barely raised their voice enough for them to be heard. More people came in and signed in after us. And it looked as if we were next to be called! Well, we were passed over at least twice by people who got there after us! This is so rude and unacceptable! We should have known not to even try this sorry excuse for a restaurant. We stopped going here a long time ago, because the food and drinks sucked. Milanesa that tasted like they poured a box of salt into it and drinks that tasted like paint thinner! I don't suggest this place to anyone! Oh and my friend was told by whoever responds to these reviews, that he/ we were not a good fit and to take our business elsewhere! This was very rude and dismissive and disrespectful of customers who tried to come back several times to be loyal, and were treated this way. Everyone ordered combo plates but I'd just had Mexican the night before and it was 1230p so I ordered the flautas appetizer plate (one beef, one chicken). Service was great!! When I tell you our son's eyes rolled into the back of his head when he tried his carnitas taco - I was so happy! I got the Verde Pork Burrito and it was SO amazing. The pork is so tender, it just falls apart. Everything was perfectly seasoned, and I can't wait come back. Bonus was that a gentleman came over and recognized us from nearly a decade ago - he came over and smiled and said "welcome back!!". The whole thing was such a wonderful experience, and a walk down memory lane. As soon as we slid into this newly remodeled Mexican spot we knew we made a good choice. The service was fast & friendly. The location was very clean and had simple but great decor. The food came out quickly and all three of us enjoyed it very much. We sat inside but they have a fantastic enclosed outdoor covered patio. I'm sure very nice in a warm summer evening. I thanked the hostess and the owner for an excellent outing. If you are near by, it's a local standout! I've heard a lot about Mucho Mas. I wasn't able to experience their food before their fire incident that shuttered the restaurant for what felt like a few years. But it's reopened and has been renovated to usher in a new era of being a favored destination in Burbank's foodscape. They've been open for about a month now so it seemed like the right destination for lunch after a movie. I got the Burrito Colorado and the spouse ordered the carnitas plate. We started with some buffalo wings. I enjoyed my burrito entree. I got what was advertised. The stew beef filling was tender and just what I needed for an early dinner. It was such a pleasure to knife and fork the burrito's contents with my rice, beans and sauce. I polished that thing off something proper. The carnitas plate was a bit of a letdown. It was just served as a hunk of shredded pork. The rice, beans and guacamole did little to provide retreat from the dry meat. Though my wife did note that it tasted good. There just needed to be a stronger sauce component to the meal. The hot sauce we asked for did manage to redeem the entree some. We largely enjoyed the food. We spoke like we were going to return eventually. I wasn't smitten by my dish, but it was well made for a satisfying dining experience. It is apparent the reopening is a fairly soft one so the place can start making money again. It feels like it's running on bare bones currently. The faithful patronage of the old restaurant is probably giving the 2.0 version some decent business with which to reestablish itself. Again, not sure how the place functioned before the 2019 fire, but it currently would benefit from a little more ambiance, and a salsa bar. The place is just open and serving food right now. Those are critical elements for any restaurant but hopefully management is working to bring about more personality to the Mucho Mas of 2022. read more
