The stand manager was friendly and helpful, but the selection here was limited. Even though it was the end of cherry season, their cherries were considerably smaller in size than that of other stands. Garlic Braids - Medium size garlic braids were $19 when they are $14 at other stands for the same type braid. I'm guessing their selection is better at different times of the season. DON'T WASTE YOIR MONEY HERE. The the produce supposedly due to COVID so you can't inspect it. They place the fruit in bowls showing the good side and your chose the bowl. Then they immediately dump the fruit into a bag and keep it behind the counter until you pay. When you are able to inspect it you find the fruit is bruised and in terrible condition.The the fruit was $5 for a bag and all unusable as you can see from the photo. The garlic is super expensive at $8 for a bowl of super small bulbs and $19 for a braid. The Advocado's they advertise are kept behind the counter so you have to ask about them. They are so tiny that we didn't bother buying them for the 10 for $1 (some reviews said they may advertise 13 for $1 at time) that they advertise to fish you into the stand. Don't get suckered into this scam. Most of their fruits are lumpy, rotting, and overpriced. Tried to buy 2 garlic ice creams($4.00 each) and 10 avocados($1.00 with other purchase). Total was $9.00 and I gave them $10. The cashier started hesitating and not wanting to give the change and said the price of the ice cream was actually $5.00 each, but they forgot to change the sign. I don't want to cheat a small business out of their money. Being the son of a small business owner myself, I know it adds up. I offered to give them the extra dollar since the new total would be $11.00. The moment I held the dollar up the cashier snatched it as fast as they could and put it in their tip jar. No thanks or apologies, she had just quickly moved onto the next customer. After that, another customer had asked if he could get something. NOT WORTH STOPPING AT THIS STORE. I stopped for 10 avocado for $1 but all avocados are 1 to 1.5 inch small size and already well ripped, some are bad quality. I managed to find 10 okay quality ones then the guy said " you need to buy more than $5 to buy 10 avocados for $1". I put all avocados and left without purchasing. This was a good place we stopped off at before hitting Casa De Fruita on the way from Nor Cal to So Cal. The guy was really friendly. The selection was limiited to a degree But, overall it was a mini-farmer's market where we wanted to support local businesses and merchants like this. read more

We stopped here because this kiosk is strategically located with a huge sign. $1 for 10 avocados! On closer inspection, the avocados were little and did not look very good so I skipped buying them. I bought a jar of their pure wild mountain honey for $8.99. It isn't local honey but it's still tasty and a good price for unprocessed honey. Also picked up a bag of garlic which was a great buy. The guy helping us was THE RUDEST! Terrible attitude and seemed like he didn't want us here. When we gave him the money, he stated he didn't have change and that he could only accept dollar bills. Two stars would've been more fitting but it wasn't until I sliced open one of their "Six avocados for $1," that I finally concluded on the one star. She mentioned wanting to stop & check out the avocados after seeing a few hand painted signs. (I had missed the last fruit stand prior to Cherry 152.) - "Sure, why not?! After all, nothing to lose expect a bit of time and a few dollars... 'And just say, I was right on both accounts. *BART - Bay Area Road Trip If you've ever driven on HWY 152, it's hard to miss the "Five avocados for $1," signs lining the side of the road. Really? Five avocados? What's wrong with them? Is there small print on the sign that you can't read traveling @ 60mph, "Five avocado SEEDS for $1?" I was intrigued. (Currently, COSTCO sells five for $6.99, a dollar more than their usual price due to the shortage of avocados from Mexico. At the end of 2016, a case was hovering @ $76; the highest it has been in thirty years.) So, I'll make a pitstop to see this "Ripley's Believe It Or Not," SIX avocados for $1, on a post about one mile before reaching the small, modest, roadside stand. (Not five but SIX!) Slow down, a mile goes by quickly. There were a couple of other cars @ the fruit stand which sits adjacent to a small enclosure with horses and lots of ground squirrels. This place was ridiculously expensive! We got 6 nectarines and 9 garlic bulbs for $17! They didn't allow to touch the fruit. You were only allowed to visually inspect it from a bowl. The overall selection was terrible. Don't stop! Keep driving! read more
