First thing I noticed was a leak in the power steering pump which I took back to him and he said he fixed. He did not. When I called him up later about it he said it was past the #Warranty time. Since then the power window on the passenger side went out. I wanted to check the brakes, but several of the studs were cross threaded, and I had to replace about five studs. The car started making loud noise and I noticed it was the air-conditioning unit which he said he had replaced. I'm quite sure what he replaced it with but it was not a quality unit and it did not even look new. The bearings went out and since it was an aftermarket and not an OEM I had to replace the whole unit. While doing that job, the serpentine belt tensioner was making noise and I had to replace it. But the worst thing about the car was that we noticed upon accelerating and braking it swayed some. The control arm on the passenger front wheel had a broken loose. This absolutely should not happen. The car was absolutely dangerous to drive in this condition. Fortunately nothing happened. We were very lucky that we did not Lose control of the car while driving. Whoever worked on these cars for him did a very shoddy job. If you are thinking about purchasing a car here, I highly recommend a thorough top to bottom inspection by a trusted mechanic.

He will sell you a dream and seems down to earth, but hes just trying to push his inventory. He moves fast & makes many mistakes. My family member recently purchased a car from him & within 2 weeks it needed service. Willie tried to make it seem like it was her fault and guilt tripped her. When she picked up her car the tires were changed and they spray painted the back of her car white, and the car STILL HAS MECHANICAL ISSUES. It's a sketchy sketchy business I would 10/10 NOT RECOMMEND!!! I'm sure he will respond & deny all allegations, but of course he would right ? It's his shady business. Shame on him for selling the city lemons.

They had the exact car I was looking for -- same color, year, make -- but even better: a bigger, nicer model with low miles and a great price. Jorge helped us through the process and made me and my husband feel confident and comfortable about our purchase. I explained my bad credit, but with a large down payment, they worked with me, showed me the interest rates from banks that approved me, and made everything smooth and transparent. They also included a 2-year warranty and assured me that if anything went wrong, I could bring it back and they'd take care of it. The car had a clean record and was well maintained, just as they promised. I'm so glad I ended up "on the wrong side" -- this turned out to be the best purchase of the year. Highly recommend this dealership and Jorge for anyone looking for a great car and excellent service!

Some were low, some were super high and Santana just hit the mark all around. Went with Santana Auto Group Service center because Chris talked to me like a human being without upselling me anything extra nor trying to get the most money out of my pockets. He identified the issue, explained in detail what needs to be fixed and gave me a reasonable quote. In the end, Chris gave me comfort that the issue was going to be fixed properly and as expected it was. It is really hard now in days to find an honest, truthful, no hassle, customer-comes-first type of customer service in just any field of work. But rest assure Santana Auto Group Service center is not one them. They earned my time, money, and respect so they are my new go-to auto service shop.

SOLID USED CAR DEALER!!!…read more I was in the hunt for a car with manual transmission to teach my youngbloods the art of The Stick Shift. Yup, it's becoming a lost skill, with most new cars not even having an option for driving stick. So before they become extinct, let's drop some knowledge on these Boyz! Now where do I find one?!?! I decided to use CarGurus and AutoTrader phone apps as my primary search options. Looked at and test drove a bunch of options... Hyundai Veloster, Mazda M3, Toyota Matrix, Kia Soul, and Honda Element. Definitely nothing extravagant. Problem with used cars is finding cars with minimal issues. Look for good price but how much work will it need AFTER you buy it?? And used car dealers, are they keen on customer service? Most are not and have definitely met some rude ones during our search too. So our quest took us to ERNIE'S AUTO SALES in Chula Vista, because a car they Listed on CarGurus looked appealing. Being that it would be a bit of a drive for us, we needed to call ahead to get some details. Here, someone actually answered the phone promptly. THANK YOU! We spoke with Mr. Mario over the phone. "How's this? How's that? Blah, blah, blah". Not once once did he sound irritated, very respectful throughout. Told us "this is a good car, 9/10. And I've been in this business a long time!" Well sure enough, he was spot on, when we came to peep things out. Friendly greeting and cordial interaction the whole time. We wanted the car, and Mr. Mario and Mr. Ernie were both reasonable chaps as we worked the details out with them. No after market nonsense added in. Nice thing is that they wanted make sure everything was up to snuff before We drove it off. So we had to come back a few days later. They kept their word on everything they said. There was even a warranty offered with our car and when we found a few issues, the warranty was honored without issue. I COULD NOT BE ANY HAPPIER the way this experience went. Thank you Gentlemen! It was a pleasure! VERY EASY RECOMMENDATION! If they have a car you are interested in, definitely worth your time! ;)

I was not actually out to buy a new car that day, just looking as my wife's 16yo Rav4 was showing its age. I met a very pleasent young man named Daniel on the lot. I asked him about the used car I saw at the other spot and he was honest saying it was a great deal. We then looked at a few other cars he had and told him I had to bring the boss (wife) back. No pressure, he handed me his card and said thanks for stopping by and he was here if I needed anything. I came back later that day with the wife and we test drove a few models. After meeting his sales manager Abdul they both made us feel appreciated, and like we were more important than the sale. We ended up buying a Pathfinder that day, after trying to find the one we wanted on another mossy lot, Abdul and his team found us an even better one, less miles, cleaner and the wife was overjoyed. Due to it getting late we did some paperwork and decided to pick up the car the next day (our choice, they were willing to deliver it to my house). When we came back to pick it up my son came along and ended up buying a brand new frontier, he had been saving and looking at older 4 runners, but fell in love with the Frontier. I can not say enough great things about Abdul, Daniel and Alejandro (who by the way sold me my Rogue) a week later... Everything from start to finish made us feel like family, no pressure, and made sure we were satisfied. Robert the general manager even checked in with us when we were waiting for my car. I can see why the team there is fantastic, talking to Robert you can see he cares about his customers and his team and is a genuine leader. If you are looking for a new or used car trust Robert, Abdul and their team at Mossy Nissan CV, you won't regret it. Even the dreaded financing is painless with Diego taking care of you... He even came in early to get my paperwork done before I had to go to work. I cant say enough great things about these guys. If you are in the market for a vehicle and want a team you can trust, go to Mossy Nissan CV, you will be writing a review like mine. Thanks guys!!! We are loving the vehicles..

If you are considering purchasing a car here, RUN!…read more Chris seemed like a very honest and sincere person but when the car I purchased began having issues caused by their team overfilling my oil, things changed. At first, he appeared to want to make this right. I purchased this car for around $6,000. Chris said it had likely caused an issue with the turbo and said he would offer us a great price to have it fixed which I greatly appreciated. He even promised if the problem was still present after, he would not charge us. We got the car back and still the check engine light remained on and black smoke was coming out of the exhaust. I nicely spoke to him several times and even offered that I would take half the money back since times are hard for everyone. My father also tried to contact him and BOTH our numbers are now blocked. I have called the shop multiple times and no calls are returned. The last communication I had nearly a month ago was that Chris needed to do payroll and would let me know. We tried to sell the car back to him and he wouldn't take it. So after barely driving (no more commuting with COVID) and owning the vehicle for about 3 months I had to sell it to CarMax for $2,000. I understand buying a used car comes with risks, but this was a clear case of someone taking advantage and taking my money.. Chris, if you would like to make this right, you know how to reach me (just unblock my number) and I would welcome the chance for you to change my mind on your business practices and ethics.

I purchased my vehicle from this dealership in 2013 and have consistently returned for service because I trusted the Toyota brand and the relationship my family had built with this dealership. Over the years, my family has purchased two vehicles from Toyota Chula Vista and remained committed customers. Recently, I brought my vehicle in because my horn was not working. I was initially charged $599 in diagnostic fees and then quoted an additional $798.46 for parts, bringing the total repair cost to nearly $1,400. Concerned by the price, I contacted two independent repair shops, both of which quoted approximately $400 total, including parts and labor, for the same repair. When I questioned the large price difference, my service advisor, Carlos Carrillo, explained that Toyota uses OEM parts and suggested the higher price was for my safety. While I understand dealerships typically charge more than independent shops, a price difference of nearly $1,000 for the same repair was difficult to justify. Things became even more frustrating when I received a text message offering to reduce the total cost to $1,000 because, according to Toyota, I would already be spending approximately $600 to retrieve my vehicle and another $400 elsewhere to complete the repair. However, when I asked Carlos whether everything would be covered under the proposed $1,000 figure, I was told the actual total would be $1,112.98. When I then asked whether any additional adjustment could be made to the labor costs based on my family's long-standing loyalty to the dealership, the offer was immediately withdrawn. Instead, I was told I would need to provide a written estimate from another repair facility using OEM parts and that my vehicle would be reassembled and made ready for pickup. I left work early and drove to the dealership to speak directly with management. After waiting approximately 30 minutes to meet with Alejandro, the service manager, I spent roughly 20 minutes explaining my concerns. Unfortunately, the conversation was dismissive and unproductive. The only resolution offered was that I needed to pay approximately $600 or my vehicle would not be released. What made this even more concerning is that my horn was never repaired. After paying nearly $600, I left with the same issue I originally brought the vehicle in for. In addition, I was repeatedly told that technicians spent three hours diagnosing the problem, despite receiving a call shortly after dropping off the vehicle with information about the diagnosis. I also discovered that Toyota Chula Vista's website advertises complimentary inspections. Despite this, I was initially presented with a $200 charge and later an additional $400 charge, totaling nearly $600. To the best of my knowledge, I only signed paperwork authorizing the initial $200 amount. The lack of transparency regarding these charges was extremely troubling. I have retained receipts and text messages documenting these interactions and the changing explanations regarding pricing and authorization. What disappointed me most was not simply the cost, but the complete lack of consideration for a customer who has supported this dealership for over a decade. Instead of transparency, accountability, or an effort to preserve a long-standing customer relationship, I was met with shifting prices, withdrawn offers, pressure to pay fees in order to retrieve my vehicle, and a repair that was never completed. After more than ten years of loyalty to Toyota Chula Vista, I left feeling unheard, disrespected, and taken advantage of. Based on this experience, I can no longer recommend this dealership to others.
