At first I thought the leak detection fee was a bit pricy but he spent the better part of 4 hours going through my pool checking everything. Colin and his crew found the leak my pool company said didn't exist in less than an hour. He was thorough and knowledgeable. He surveyed the entire system, which is admittedly on the complex side, and listened carefully to my description of what I noticed. He asked questions that helped him pin down the most likely location, then dove the pool and sure enough, nailed it. Because the system was so complex, with 2 infinity edges, he originally quoted a base cost equivalent to 3 hours of labor, and then time and materials after that... but he found the leak so quickly, that he only charged me an hours labor and said he'd come back if there was anything else needed and charge the balance then. And, he even patched the leak location with a bit of underwater epoxy as an emergency repair so that the pool company could come out and finish the job they should have done. Man........ so I call Colin yesterday to get a quote to send high pressure air through my skimmer line for my pool. Most companies would jump at the chance to make that money, but not Colin. Painter I'm going to hire suggested I get all the important stuff taken care of before the paint job... Like some dry rot (done now) and a couple leaks that caused some damage in my bathroom from a rain storm last year and also damage under the window in same area. So found this company online with very good ratings... Fast response from Colin. Turns out problem was from three different things. The gutter, being full and wind blowing, and the window track. Plugging up and water seeping underneath and then another problem from my 30 year old shower. He also checked the roof and the skylight in the room and turns out those are OK... I just bought a house with a Pool in Brentwood and boy! Problems started the moment we moved in! It's everything breaking here and there, now the Pool doesn't hold water up to the skimmer and the automatic water fill valve doesn't shut off! It keeps running all day and night! I called every leak detection here in Yelp, i started with the most famous ones that's has a lot of 5 star reviews; and they are booked out and can't come same day or at least couple days!
