Mocha Chai 16 oz with a milk alternative ($$$!!)
    Annie T.

Overall: 3.5 stars Venue and ambiance: 4 stars I've been wanting to try Pacific Coffee Roasting for awhile because I pass it all the time. Inside has adorable decor and furnishing. It's clean and spacious with lots of tables and seating. There are also outdoor tables, which I appreciate. Food and drinks: 3.5 stars I got a Mocha Chai, a flavor I've never had before, because I like both mocha and chai, so I figured it'd be worth trying. The flavor was good, but the temperature was not hot. I wasn't able to finish it, which is unlike me. I also got a cinnamon roll. It was okay. Service: 3 stars I couldn't tell if the cashier was having a bad morning or just didn't like work because she kept conversation and answers very short (even though I was the only one in line) and then didn't offer to heat up my pastry, which I noticed she did for the customers who came in after me. The inconsistent friendliness was disappointing and a little shocking. Overall it was a cute local coffee shop, and hopefully they'll train their staff to have equal customer service for all patrons.

Pacific Coffee caffeine fueled our retreat.

Was in Aptos for a retreat, the coffee and service was absolutely excellent. We took bulk coffee to go, I didn't order in advance but the venue cheerfully accommodated the order. All around great place.

    Burnt avacado toast.

Very disapointed with the young girls they have hired. My Croissants but was made with mayo. They told me they don't put mayo on sandwiches unless I ask. I went home with my order to discover this and had to drive back. When I told them they made smug faces at me. They remade sandwich. They asked me if I wanted a cookie and I said no. I tired of you always giving me free cookies every time I come here because they mess it up.. she got mad and lectured me. I told her I will not take her lecture and as I walked out the door, she yelled at me with my 2 girls to never come back. When I arrived home I discover my avacodo toast was burned. They knew it was burned but was too lazy to redo it. I called owner and she has yet to respond... this seems to be happening every time I go. I am very dispointed by these young girls who think they can boss me around like they are my mother. I am going to have to tell all my friends and family to choose a different place.

Egg without the bagel (veggies were an add-on)

Please take this review as a 3.5. The place was spacious and clean. The staff was very friendly and attentive. There's some seating spots inside as well as outside. I ordered the Cafe Borgia but it definitely sounded better than what it tasted. It was too bitter. I ordered the 'egg without the bagel' the eggs were fluffy and had a good amount of veggies but it lack flavor. It was pretty tasteless; however maybe that was my mistake- not ordering it as a bagel sandwich. So needless to say I wasn't too impress with my order. I would probably give them another shot and order the lox instead. My husband ordered that one and it was really tasty.

I love this coffee shop! They have yummy chai! The staff are always friendly. It's quiet but cute.

The coffee is somewhat better than Starbucks or Peets, but not as good as Verve. The service is friendly, but like most places nowadays, you have to do most everything yourself. There is often a line from about 10 am onward. It is a nice place to sit outside in sunny weather. Most recently they seem to have changed their bagel supplier. Now instead of bagels, they offer something that vaguely resembles a bagel but eats like an English muffin. Please go back to the real bagels! I hope it's not a sign of a general downgrade maneuver to stay in business. Prices are already pretty high, but still under the premier coffee houses in the area.

    Large cafe space!

The only downside is the hours are sometimes shorter than I'd like, so I've sometimes come at times it's closed, so I recommend checking online before driving over to make sure they'll be open when you arrive. The space is so cute with the different types of seating and plant areas that divide up the space. There are also a few outdoor tables and chairs for those who prefer Al Fresca. From the moment we saw the signage, we knew this place had personality. The branding is on point -- soft pink and blue hues, totally inviting, and the kind of place you'd love to post up at for a slow morning. Unfortunately, with two young toddlers in tow, we had to take our drinks to go. Still, it was impossible not to soak up the energy of the space -- it's upbeat, stylish, and clearly a local favorite. I wish I remembered the name of our drink, but it was basically a frozen iced coffee that puts any Frappuccino to shame. Rich, creamy, and bursting with quality coffee flavor -- you can taste the difference. Whatever milk or cream they used? Absolute perfection. The staff deserves a shout-out too. Despite it being busy (Sunday morning rush), they were friendly, quick, and super knowledgeable when we asked for drink recs. Next time we're back in Aptos, this will definitely be our go-to coffee stop. If you're anywhere nearby -- don't miss it.

I appreciated it being on the small side since I had so many other things to try. I got tomato and spinach and wish the tomato taste came through a bit more. Would get again. Key lime pie. 4/5. Tasted fresh and had a smooth texture with the right amount of tartness. Strawberry shortcake cookie. 4/5. Like a soft scone. More intense strawberry flavor than expected. Banana tart. 4/5. Could be stronger banana flavor. Maybe if they brûléed a banana on it. Good crust texture. Impressive how everything I tried tasted good considering their extensive menu. The menu is available online and they take same day orders via phone. Pickup was a little hectic as there were a lot of people in the bakery. I waited in line for a ticket and then waited for my number to be called, but found out that I could have just walked to the end of the bakery to pickup at the counter in the corner. I would probably add a sign to make it a little more obvious for those new to the bakery, nonetheless the pastries were amazing and nothing else matters. Everything was sweet but balanced with acidity or nuttiness. Great mix of textures and the crust does not fall apart even after a whole day in the fridge and being manhandled into cut portions. I'd highly recommend this place for out-of-towners, as those that live there already know it's the best.

Great crispy crust, nice airy inside, not dense at all. Awesome for dipping in coffee. My only downside is the price. $6 for a French baguette... why? I'm waiting to see if it gives me any super powers. As for the chocolate chip cookie... perfect example of how looks can be deceiving. I know it's all preference, but it was just a basic cookie. No sea salt added for that something extra and no browned butter to be found. Just an ordinary, overly priced cookie. Sadly, does not win a spot for my top 5.
