I came here because it was very cold in the middle of a summer morning. This place has plenty of parking and a lot of seating outside. It was very welcoming from the start. As soon as you walk in the delicious smell of coffee hits you. There are a few tables and all you see is tons of coffee to pick from. The menu is to the left. They have some pastries that were all really good. I had a huge order it was about 15 drinks and the two young girls working were very patient and accommodating. The vanilla latte was pretty amazing. Pacific has some of my favorite roasted beans in the county! They're a bit spendy compared to other high quality beans in the county like SC Coffee Roasting, Coffeeol, etc., but I still grab them from time to time. (It helps that they're so close to my work.) The drinks are hit and miss. I should say, the baristas are hit and miss. You know the beans and the machines are great, so it all comes down to the skill of the coffee maker. Their staff changes hands often, so the only tip I can give is if you see an older fella with white hair, that's either the owner or their worst long-term barista, and stick to drip if you see him working the espresso maker. Food is pretty bad. I just ordered a blueberry muffin and got a cranberry walnut muffin. That's a problem because I'm allergic to walnuts! Thankfully I identified it immediately, spat it out, but still had enough to note the dry, old texture and remember why I never get food there. But bring an epipen if you have food sensitivities, because however high pay has to be to ensure a worker pays attention, Pacific must not meet the threshold. If they took away the food options and had consistently great espresso, this place would be an easy four stars, five if they brought in good food. Thankfully Companion Bake Shop is right there. Also don't forget to specify size when you order, the default is 8 oz. But hey, friendly service and great roasted beans! read more

This is a fairly ornate coffee shop kinda not really by the Seacliff state beach. While they do have a standard strip mall parking lot which usually has a spot open somewhere in it, said lot is tiny and not laid out very well. Maneuvering in and out of it can be more fun then you want to have. It's a fairly spacious space with both inside and outside seating. While the seating is fairly unremarkable table/chair combos the space is impeccable both inside and out. It's bright, well lit and modern. The outside space has what would be an unremarkable view of the parking, yet is redeemed by good verging on great landscaping. It's a nice spot for a social cuppa. Service is of the by now standard order, pay and pick up at counter model and yes there will be lines at times. Most times actually. They move fairly quick and overall the service is better then most coffee spots around. The non-coffee menu is ambitious. They have the avocado toast thingy that seems so easy to make at home but isn't really that easy a thing, and it's perfect for a light savory breakfast. They have a range of pastries on some other light fare on offer as well-breakfast burritos and other toasty sandwhichy things. Also some salads. The coffee is the focus however and it's pretty awesome. Nothing wrong with the plain cuppa of tea or coffee, but the cappuccino's, chai's latte's, espresso's and what not shine as well. The word on the street-totally unconfirmed by the way so treat this as a hot rumor-is that the coffee is from santa cruz coffee roasting co. Whatever the source you can buy bags of roasted beans ground or whole in any particular size you want. All this comes at a price of course, and this is not the most wallet friendly spot. Coffee and a sweet will start in the six to seven dollar range depending on choices made, more if you go for the avocado toast. That may seem like a lot, but it is some awesome coffee in a gorgeous setting. read more

But regardless with the efficient system in place it makes it soooooo much easier for us - we're deaf so they gave us the list and we just simply checked checked and added a note here and there! They were super busy at 10:45am on a Sunday, and I waited in line at least 10 minutes before ordering. It took at least another 10 minutes to get my order, since the barista accidentally gave my order to another customer. It tasted a lot like those chocolate oranges they sell around the holidays, the one where you have to hit it against a hard surface to separate the wedges. Although it was unique, it was bit too cloying to have an entire coffee with the chocolate orange flavor, and I wouldn't get this again. They didn't have that many choices on their menu, or pour overs available. They did have a lot of coffee blends if you wanted to purchase beans to go, but only 3 options to drink there. I probably would have rounded up to 3 stars had the barista been more apologetic about accidentally giving away my drink, especially since I'm Asian, and she gave the drink away to another Asian woman. Not cool. Needless to say, I won't be back. They have indoor and outdoor seating available, but almost all the seats outdoors were taken already since I came on a nice day. Nice layout, friendly staff and overall a nice spot to hang out! Their coffee is good, but their espresso drinks leave something to be desired. Every time I go, the espresso tastes a bit sour and whatever brands they choose for their alternative milks aren't great either. I still go for the ambience, but with Cat & Cloud and Companion as easy alternatives I usually opt for one of those since their espresso drinks are usually tastier. The baristas are attentive and helpful. I had a chai and it was satisfactorily spicy, but a bit more watery than I'd hope, as I like my chai milky. You might have to wipe off the tables yourself as lots of people come and go and they don't have a big enough staff to do that kind of tidying. Great place to sit and chat and the people sitting in there are generally talkative if you're looking to be social! read more

This place was ok, I guess. It was my first visit here. My gripes about the place are: 1. that it is loud. If you need to do any studying or concentrating this is not the place to go. 2. Customer service needs a little work. The barista was not rude or anything like that. The employee just seemed like they didn't enjoy their job. They did the bare minimum, no smile, minimal conversation. It would have been nice to know that the internet was working sporadically, after all that was my main purpose of going there. And the barista saw my computer when I placed it on the counter to order. They knew that the internet was not working properly at the time, because people kept asking about it & they said they already called the repair man. 3. My beverage was OK. This is a nice little spot tucked in a small charming strip mall off of Soquel. There's plenty of seating inside and out and a wide variety on the menu. If you have folks in your group looking for something other than coffee - this is a great spot! For espresso lovers, well, this place is a solid 3 stars. Not great but not bad. I ordered a double eight ounce latte and it was made perfectly. I don't love the roast on the beans but I feel that's a personal preference more than a knock on their coffee. I just checked my bank statement and the price they quote me and the price that is debited is consistently higher. I was never consented to give a tip or was asked by their card reading machine to give a tip. I find this practice to be illegal and deceitful. No other coffee shop around town does this. I was excited to try a local coffee shop and was pretty pleased. The shop is has really cool decorations, including a giant roaster right in the front and a bunch of different coffee beans on display. The barista who helped us was quite cold though. She never smiled or greeted us in any way. Maybe she was having an off day but it made my friends and I all feel kind of unwelcome... Unfortunately, I also didn't really like my drink. I ordered an iced chai latte and it was very weak. My friends' iced coffee was delicious though. Very smooth. Overall I wasn't too impressed, but it would probably be better if you were looking for legit roasted coffee and gelato. read more
