My fiance are here visiting from NY so we appreciate a good coffee shop. Her brother's roommate works here so he recommended we try it and I'm glad we did. I got the avocado toast and a carrot muffin as well as a cappuccino. All were very tasty, especially the avocado toast. I got it the next day as well. The citrus avocado and the lemon shallot drizzle add a really pleasantly bright flavor while the mini greens added a nice crunch and fresh feel to the dish. We even got a tour of the roastery. This once ended up becoming our go-to spot for the week and we ended up coming back every morning for breakfast/brunch. I tried the Night Shift roast the next day and I like that a lot. It's a dark roast but not too dark. Be warned that like any good business, it does get very busy in the weekend. It's worth it though. read more

Cute little cafe. I wouldn't say it is my new go-to or anything, but I was excited to try it and enjoyed my meal there. Our meal took about 15-20 minutes to get to us, and there was a good amount of seating both inside and outside. It can get a little busy though depending on when you come in and can be hard to find seating. I got the overnight oats which was a decent portion but wasn't very flavorful or sweet. I liked the granola and the fresh fruit on top, but overall the oats themselves weren't as sweet as I would have hoped. But the breakfast burrito was good, and the staff were very friendly. This is clearly a popular cafe as there was a line out the door when we arrive on a Wednesday morning. I do like their commitment to quality coffee beans, but I did not opt to try one of their drinks this visit. Overall a cute place for a little trip, not sure if I am personally going to add this place to my daily rotation but it's was a fun place to try something new. This is definitely the busiest location of the 4 locations they have in Santa Cruz but it makes sense since this is the only location that serves THE breakfast burrito of all breakfast burritos! I noticed that they changed their potatoes to little potato cubes. I do not know why they made the change but the burrito was made so fast compared to in the past when you would have to wait a little bit if you ordered the breakfast burrito. I also noticed they made the burrito bigger which is nice since they have raised the price of the burrito over the years. Request for improvement: Put umbrellas outside at the tables. For us pale people who are allergic to the sun it's nice to get the outdoor air without having to put on sunscreen. read more

Look I'm literally in San Jose but I will jump the mountain and get on Highway 17 and drive that twisty road just to have a nice cup of coffee and breakfast here since it's so close to the ocean it's a no-brainer for me. It was a hot day and on this trip I got an iced chai which was divine. I've had creamy beige before and that is also an amazing drink. There's never been a drink here that I didn't love, so basically I love everything here. I got the granola Bowl because I came around 11:30 a.m. and I was still feeling hungry and snacky and it was the perfect snack brunch item for me at that time. Service is truly amazing here everyone here really cares about your experience and it's such a good vibe as well the Ambiance is totally giving cozy Cafe next to the ocean because that's literally what it really is. I drive here from San Jose for this. The coffee is solid too. I've tried the vanilla latte, mocha, and dirty chai and no complaints from me. Some nice indoor and outdoors seating. The murals on the inside are really pretty too. They're generally pretty fast with the orders, food takes a bit longer. It really is such a cute little coffee shop/small cafe. Food-- we tried the green goodness. Appropriately named. It is a plate full of delicious, yummy goodness. All the flavors were delicious together, and while very filling, it did not feel heavy at all. Such a delicious, underrated breakfast. My daughter ordered the avocado toast and loved it. Yogurt and granola was also amazing. They make their own seasonal compote and it was topped with spiced nuts. I would definitely get it again. If you're a matcha lover, the strawberry matcha is a MUST. It looks like they make their own sweeteners for coffee/tea drinks. I can't wait to go back. Don't sleep on this. C&C get a star back for moving to larger free water glasses and turning the music down to a comfortable volume. I love a business that continues to improve. Service continues to be excellent. I'm still going less often than before, but I haven't had any issues with egg shells in at least six months, so I'm hoping it's not longer an issue. The green sauce is still less good than before, but I've given up hope of it returning to its original state, and the burrito is still very good. The chocolate for their mocha is disappointing, but the coffee itself is good, as are the pastries. I do recommend checking out C&C early because it gets BUSY. read more

We heard some good things about Cat and Cloud and was excited to try as a family. The space is so cute and spacious. I love the artwork and they even have the cutest merch. My kids were naturally drawn to the donuts and baked goods. We got an oreo donut and it was yummy! But I was really there for the breakfast burrito, and it did not disappoint. The crispy potatoes were the best part! I'd probably skip the cilantro next time (just my own preference), but overall, it was super satisfying. Theres also a chipotle sauce on the side that adds a hint of spice and cholula available when dining in. To drink, I got the Strawberry Matcha and it had just enough sweetness - definitely recommend! We cake here on a weekend morning bordering lunch and it was pretty wild. There were dozens of people placing orders and hardly any lulls. Needless to say it took us about 25 minutes to get our food, and it's just more hectic than I would like. They call our names for coffee but if you're trying to save a table outside, there's no way to hear them call out your name, which isn't great. We ordered a latte, breakfast burrito, and avocado toast. My partner enjoyed his oat milk latte. And we both liked the breakfast burrito but my complaint about it is that there was egg only on one half of the burrito. The other half had mainly potatoes and so it was not great to split. There was also not enough salsa, which I think the burrito was bland without. They are also not the best with their labeling. The two people next to us had one veggie burrito and one normal burrito with bacon. The one with veggie labeled on it actually had bacon, and they were flustered not knowing which burrito had what, also because the bacon was buried in the one that did have meat -- so the same problem with the burrito's contents not being evenly distributed. The avocado toast was a little more on the lemony side and could have used more seasoning and flavor. The bread was moist and delicious. For what we paid for and got, I think their coffee shop is pretty average. Not the best place to study or do anything quiet though given the hecticness. You order at the front and take a number and they will bring the food to you. There's street parking and a back parking lot if you drive past the coffee shop and a few other shops nearby. There are also two sinks bathrooms and a communal sink in the main room. read more

Was in Santa Cruz area for work and heard about this coffee shop from other coworkers so I wanted to check it out for myself. It's a cute little place. The decor is really kitschy and totally matched the name. It was nice and clean. The girl at the counter seemed grumpy at first but ended up warming up after a minute of small talk. I got an iced vanilla oatmilk latte and the Creamy Beige. Both were smooth and creamy and delicious! I also ordered a monkey bread. When I thought the girl was grumpy at the counter, I hesitated to ask her to warm it up. It ended up tasting good even though it was warm. Recommend this coffee spot to anyone in the area! We came to Cat & Cloud on a Sunday morning and they were packed with a line out the door. Despite the crowd we were in and out within 10 minutes which was super impressive. We got the hot matcha latte with honey 50% sweet. It was super solid, strong matcha taste with a splash of honey that wasn't overpowering. Pretty delicious with each sip. The price is comparable to most matcha at other coffee shops. We really wanted to try the breakfast burrito but since we were in a rush to get back on the road we opted not to since it was a 20 minute wait at the time since each are made to order-- will definitely have to come back to try that. The parking was super easy although the spots are a little small so hard to fit my SUV in a spot. The shop had great amounts of outdoor and indoor seating so looks like a great place to hangout with friends and chat. Overall, was super happy with my experience here and next time I'm in Santa Cruz will definitely be coming back. read more

Love the aesthetic of this place, it is such a vibe and is a good study cafe hangout, with a lot of seating. I had a matcha that was good, their portions are pretty large. The staff is kind and spark up a conversation with you. My only issue would be the pricing, which is about 6-8 dollars for a drink and higher for food. Cat & Cloud is one of my favorite coffee shops & roasters!! When I'm in Santa Cruz I always stop by for drinks, beans & the best breakfast burrito I've ever had!!! It's so good I came two days in a row :) First day we both had a Creamy Beige & C&C Breakfast Burrito (scrambled eggs, El Salchichero bacon, crispy potatos, chipotle aioli & cilantro w/ tomatillo salsa on the side). The drink is like an espresso milkshake 5-Stars and I swear this is the best breakfast burrito you will ever have 10-Stars!!! Second day I had an Espresso & Flat White, both were excellent :) I enjoyed them sitting in the sun reading. I also picked up a couple of bags of freshly roasted beans for home. They have four locations in Santa Cruz but I think this is my favorite. Plenty of seating inside & out and lots of parking in the rear. As good as everything here is I need to mention the staff, some of the friendliest I've ever met at a coffee shop. Efficient and helpful I can't say enough. Quaint and adorable are only a few words one can use to describe this laidback cafe. Their coffee is delicious, addicting and beautifully designed. There's a self serving station for all your to go and oat milk addage needs. Got a chance to try several menu items including some from the pastry case and they all looked so mouthwatering I don't think anything would disappoint. The lemon croissant was such a great tangy surprise, like eating a flaky filled lemon bar croissant. And I've not met little piggies I wanted to taste more than this bear claw. Perfectly layered, flaky, flavorful and crispy at all the right places. The food itself were cute and unique in ways I didn't expect but totally made sense after the fact. Breakfast burrito was good but a little heavy on the diced roasted potatoes. Texturally, slightly confusing, nice solid sturdy burrito!
