I adore 11th hour! It is the perfect place to go and work for a few hours without feeling crammed in. There always plenty of space inside, and lots of shaded seating outside. I've had multiple iced lattes and iced matchas here, and they've all had so much flavor even without any added sweetener! I love the hours here, and they were even open and had plenty of seating on Labor Day. It does get pretty busy during mid mornings on the weekends, but there's always plenty of seating. The only downside to this location is parking. Since this location is so close to downtown, the only parking available is paid street parking, which bumps up to around $5/hour if you stay past two hours. read more

The moment we walked in we could tell this was our kind of coffee shop. Plants draping from the walls and ceiling, unique specials, and great varried seating. We eneded up getting a cold brew and a espresso which were both pretty good. The espresso was strong and had some hints of dark chocolate while the coldbrew was clean and crisp which was nice on a sunny day. Stopped by 11th Hour Coffee while visiting Santa Cruz and it ended up being such a great coffee stop to relax and do work. We picked up the vegan chocolate cookie and the chocolate banana cookie, and both were excellent! For drinks, we ordered the vanilla latte and the iced mocha. I really appreciated that they weren't loaded with sugar. The flavors were subtle and balanced, allowing the quality of the coffee to shine through instead of being masked by syrup. We didn't have enough time to try their breakfast, but everything coming out of the kitchen looked incredibly promising. Definitely a spot I'd come back to just to give the breakfast menu a proper try. I got a iced Salted Caramel Latte with Oatmilk & an iced Honey Bee Latte, BOTH were absolutely disgusting,I payed about $22 (with tip), very pricey for two coffees so I was expecting them to be good. Classic Santa Cruz coffee shop - the missus and I stopped by last weekend. We parked a block away and stood in a fast-moving queue to order drinks and an Earl Gray cookie to share, then sat on the side patio outdoors. The order took a few minutes. My hot matcha was good, and she seemed to like her iced maple syrup latte, then confessed that she could not taste any maple flavor! It's rare that I love both the coffee (honeybee latte) and matcha (matcha + berries and cream), and would definitely frequent if I lived closer. Minus one star for the prices (it was $21 for 2 drinks, with oat milk sub), and the interior was not the most clean, saw some ants crawling and tables aren't turned over. 11th Hour Coffee might have just given me the best brunch I've had in a while. The space is beautiful, calm, plant-filled, bright, and almost healing. It feels like somewhere you could sit for hours without being rushed. Surprisingly, there's also a full bar, which I didn't expect from the outside. We ordered two specialty lattes, two bowls, and a loaded avo toast and the total was right around $100 for two people, so this is definitely not a casual quick bite price-wise. That said, the food was incredible. The potato bowl was cheesy, rich, and perfectly cooked. The potatoes had that ideal texture: crispy edges, soft centers. But the star of the table was the loaded avocado toast. Genuinely the best I've ever had. The bread was thick and substantial, the avocado was generous, and the toppings were layered in a way that made every bite balanced but bold. It felt like someone actually thought about how it should taste instead of just piling things on for aesthetics. The lattes were the only slight miss for me. The mocha mushroom had a much stronger turmeric and mushroom flavor than I expected. Not bad, just not what I was prepared for. Alternatively, the maple oat milk latte was smooth but didn't have the maple-forward sweetness I anticipated. Both were fine, just not as memorable as the food. Staff were kind and the food came out quickly, which I appreciated. Overall, I would absolutely come back, with the knowledge it's a bit of a splurge.
