We used the complimentary photo session offered by the Ritz and couldn't be more pleased with our photos. We scheduled with the concierge a few days before and met our photographer in the lounge of the hotel. She took our family of 4 to several locations around the Ritz property and down at the beach. She suggested poses and made sure to get lots of shots. When we were done we went out for dinner. She texted about an hour later and we came to view of photos. They all looked so good! We ended up purchasing the flash drive with photo release. She also air dropped the photo album to our phones. It was well worth the $$$. These are photos I'll treasure forever. read more

Working with Jorge, James and Pacific Dream was so good, so fun, and the pictures so stunning we came back for a second family photoshoot in one week!!! ....My husband and I visited Maui for a combo anniversary/our daughter's 1st birthday trip. Since it was a special trip we really wanted to capture the memories; and pictures last a lifetime. I'd already had a professional shoot for her 1st birthday back home in Orange County but I'm super picky about the quality of professional photos and those weren't up to my standards so when my friend, who had recently returned from Maui, highly recommended Pacific Dream Photography, I decided to give them a shot. First off, when I sent a contact request form, James responded right away and was super helpful. We decided to book a shoot the next day. Once we got to Maui, working with James (our photographer), and Jorge (the owner) literally could not have been a more fun, pleasant experience!! Jorge was so kind and welcoming that we felt comfortable before we even got in front of the camera. Once we met James in person he was so down-to-earth that we knew we were in great hands with him behind the lens. He kept us relaxing, having fun and keeping our 1yr old happy and smiling for an hour. That's talent!! We booked a sunset shoot at the Montage Kapalua Bay and the photos turned out so stunning, and the experience was so great, we decided to book a second photo shoot during our vacation. This time we booked the sunrise shoot. We had all new shots and locations and the experience was just as perfect as the the first one. I highly recommend getting the video slideshow with your pictures. What a wonderful way to tie the story/emotion of your pictures/experience together. We loved ours and the music they set it to as well. Bottom line...coming from an avid photography fan, and one who's probably more critical than most, I've gotta say that Pacific Dream exceeded my expectations in every way. Were they worth the money? ABSOLUTELY! If you're looking for a fantastic photographer to make capturing you and/or your spouse or family a fun experience that delivers outstanding quality photographs, look no further, Pacific Dream Photography is what you want. Our photographer was James Hoot, and working with James was such a fun and amazing experience. His photos are so professional, he was able to captured all the perfect lighting. We used the complimentary photo session at the Montage Kapalua Bay for our honeymoon. Having just got married and knowing how much professional photographers cost we thought what did we have to lose? The photographer we worked with was very nice and made the photo shoot quick and easy. We did one too many cheesy photos for my personal taste, but my husband and I are more the goofy type. She was open to suggestions and asked us if there were poses we'd like to do, which was a nice option. The most important part was she knew exactly where to go to get the best shots at the resort for our sunset shoot. Our photos turned out incredible and the video was really fun. We would have purchased more photos but we have gained a little "happy weight" since the wedding and didn't want too much photographic evidence haha!! (Pro tip: be sure to watch what you eat the day before you shoot, hydrate, and stay away from salt!) Last thing: for people complaining these photos are overpriced, you must not know the going rates for professional photography. Getting the digital images without a watermark is pricey, and I thought Pacific Dreams prices were high, but fair. You aren't paying just for the image, you are paying for a professional who knows focus, lighting, composition, shutter speed, and more. How much are your memories worth? More than a simple iPhone photo I say! ;) It would be nice if they offered a retouching option! (Perhaps they do and I didn't ask?) read more

The next day, an associate came to our hotel room with an iMac, displayed all of our photos, and we were glad to purchase them. Hands-down the best photography company on Maui! They helped me capture the perfect proposal! Our photographer, Travis, was in on the whole plan and helped disguise the proposal as a photo session, while capturing great pictures of us in the most picturesque spots. We haven't had family photos taken in a few years so when I learned of the complimentary session offered through our hotel, the Montage Kapalua Bay, I booked it right away. Originally we had a 5:15pm appt booked but they notified me of a 6:15pm sunset cancellation so of course we switched to that time instead. I thought that was really nice of them to ask us if we wanted to change times. Our photographer was Tiffany and she was so easy to work with. We just did our second shoot with Pacific Dream. The first time we did it at the Grand Hyatt Kauai and we most recently did a shoot at the Montage in Maui. Everyone we communicated with and met was very professional and friendly. Most importantly, the quality of the photos are amazing. Great scenery, and no cheesy stuff ( unless you ask for it I guess). They pick a time of day when they know the lighting will be ideal. There is a nice mix of composed and candid shots too. Lastly they make a video during the shoot and it's very nicely done. Five stars! Tiffany and team did an incredible job despite the difficult "conditions". With two grumpy, hungry toddlers right before their dinner time we didn't think the photo session would generate more than a couple of good shots. We were wrong! We stayed at the Montage Kapalua bay, and booked a complimentary photo shoot with Tiffany. She was great. Very friendly and patient, and had good ideas. Our family of 4 has a 9 year old and 3 year old, and she did a great job of keeping both kids engaged and having fun. Our gallery had a wide variety of shots to choose from, and I think it was the perfect mix of standard portrait poses and candid shots. She took LOTS of photos, and was super easy to get along with!! The kids really liked her, and so did we. It was a great experience. The only negative was that the printed items were VERY expensive, so even though we ended up with $400 in credits, we can't get very many things...But overall, we are satisfied!!! read more

Our family of 10 booked a photo session during our stay at Montage Kapalua Bay. I wasn't sure if this was going to be worth our effort, but decided if it worked out, I would be grateful to have the memories captured professionally. Rachel, our photographer, was beyond professional and skilled. I've actually never seen a photographer so prepared, organized and adept at getting 10 people to do what was necessary to successfully complete our session (in 45 minutes or less) without the kids melting down or getting impatient. We had three generations, multiple families and my special-needs grandson, which all combine to make it a challenge to get good photos, let alone great ones. I was so surprised at the quality of the photos. The light was perfect and every one of us looked great. The next day, Rachel was again extremely prepared and efficient. She had already done her homework and had a process that made it SO easy for us to navigate the many photos and choose the ones we wanted. Simple and perfect. I would highly recommend Pacific Dream Photography to any one wishing to document their time in Maui. They made it so easy and without expending much time on our part. If you like to over pay do it .. Me and boyfriend had free session from our hotel for a free photo shoot though our resort fee I thought it was cool we did it I thought it would be quick our photographer was amazing she was patient with us . When we had a appointment to view our photos they showed us the video it was cute we saw all pictures a lot where bad .. The lady not sure her name was very rude not patient with us when they showed us the price I was WHAT!! 500$ for 20 photos not video so stupid .. My boyfriend felt bad for me and wanted to keep me happy bought 3 photos 80$ each and we don't get the video !! They got me I feel stupid for paying for this .. Had a great vacation in Maui. Pacific Dream Photography photo session was offered through our hotel, the Montage. We weren't going to do it at first but it was the first time most of our family had been to Hawaii so we thought it might be cool to get some professional images to capture the moment. One of the best decisions we made! The photo session experience was great. They accommodated our schedule, changing times at our request us a few times. They came to our hotel. James, our photographer, was excellent. Absolute 5 star professional. Responsive to our wishes, patient, positive, and able to advise on lighting so that we were able to capture some truly great shots. It's no pressure to buy any photos, as there is no obligation. But the photos look so amazing that it is hard not to want to get close to the complete package. Our trip was over a year ago and I still think this was one of the best purchases we made there. Whenever I look at these photos, they still make me feel all the wonderfulness of being in Maui with my family.
