The rooms are clean, spacious and great amenities. The manager is awesome. We had a problem free extended stay.

The staff was extremely rude upon check in. We were told the room had air conditioning and could sleep 5, but upon arrival there was 1 king bed and 1 queen. When I asked where our 5th person was supposed to sleep, as we were charged $20 for having an extra person (and ok ages were input so you could easily see we had no infants or children under 5) I was told to pay $30 extra for a roll away bed. Then the air conditioning in the room kept showing an error code and did not work our entire stay. There was only 2 towels in the room and the hand soap was empty. When we asked for more the gentleman rudely rolled his eyes, slammed the door behind him and then brought the items back to me. We had stayed here before with no problems or issues but this time was so unpleasant we definitely won't be back. So to recap, we have rude guest services, an AC that did not work, not enough towels, empty hand soap, and treated like an inconvenience when they didn't make the room up properly. Do better Sir. As a business owner myself, this is not how you get return customers. read more

If it were hot it woulda been pretty gross. -OMG the bathroom "door". I mean, seriously, WTF? A weird barn door situation that wasn't actually big enough to cover the bathroom. You could easily see into the "closed" the door if you tried. For real that door is a problem!!!!! You totally want your roommates to watch you poop and shower, right?? -Barking dog the ENTIRE time. Neighbor? Hotel? Not sure, but, there was dog crap on the walkway between office and room.... The So-So /Pricey for what it was, but, the room WAS big, had 2 ceiling fans, a separate "bedroom", desk, couch, TV, fridge, etc. For all that money maybe they could buy a real door. /It was clean-ish. My bedding was clean but seemed...old....other bed was clean but seemed newer. Sofa was pretty beat. Floor was...not pristine but not awful. At least it's not old sketch carpeting. /Spacious bathroom, with light up mirror - ZERO hooks or counter space. Would I book again? Yes. Would I recommend it? Yes-ish - with full warnings of all the quirks. It HAS been fully remodeled. A bit strangely, but, fully remodeled. Any dank brown carpet nasty photos you see are no longer how it looks. 5 -Star Experience!! I always like to book this hotel when family or friends are traveling into the area and need a place to stay--it never disappoints. They have amazing deals, the price is fair, and the location is excellent. The GM is very kind and accommodating; when I told him that someone in my party had limited mobility, he made sure we had the right room and helped with reservation extensions. He was very willing to transfer the deposit and made the process easy and seamless. The rooms are clean and gives me a Florida vibe, especially the first floor with private patios. Having your own little white picket-fence area with patio chairs makes you feel safe and comfortable. I also appreciated the full-size stainless steel refrigerator with freezer, matching microwave, the abundance of cable channels, and the strong Wi-Fi. The staff is friendly, and the rate is very fair. There are plenty of food and shopping options nearby--Black Bear, Popeyes, McDonald's, H Mart, CVS, Walmart, Bank of America, and the mall is less than 3 miles away. Walmart, Vons and Ralph are about 2 miles away. It was absolutely perfect for their eight-day stay. I'll always recommend this hotel for anyone looking for an economical stay that is clean, hospitable, and easy on the pocket. This is the place! read more

Find somewhere else to stay. Trust me you'll thank me later. While in theory it seemed like a nice place it was gross. The place stunk when we walked through the door. It seemed they were trying to cover it up with a spray of some sort. We got there late and there wasn't anywhere to park near the room. So we had to take everything out of the car as I didn't feel safe leaving it in the car in an alley. The beds are super hard like the reviews say. They are remodeled like they say. We opened the window a little and it smelled all night like skunk. Really was a skunk. The shower was nice though along with the soaps. There was five of us in the room comfortably. We booked two rooms that had King size beds and one sofa bed as a launch pad for a cruise at the port of LA right across the road. $120/Night each room booked on third party Expedia. We saw the previous review that the place had been remodeled. We took a chance and decided to try it. We were super happy we did. The front desk staff was awesome! We asked for extra blankets and they provided promptly. The rooms were very clean and comfy. Nice space for the price and parking was convenient as well. Will definitely stay here again if needed. First off, they take cash only but did NOT say that online when booking. They take your card info online but when you arrive in person, "sorry cash only" (and they don't have an ATM). Upon finally getting into a room, there's so much damage and it smells like urine. There are cigarette holes in the blankets, paint missing, multiple light switches don't work, etc, and there's no refunds so we're stuck here. Wish we would have seen the room before booking. It's so disgusting that even the shower looks like it would make you feel dirtier afterwards. Go literally ANYWHERE else, this place will 100% make you sick. read more

No stars. Hell has none. Horrible. Nightmare. We came here to enjoy a wknd while my husband had a two day class. I was exhausted upon arriving and couldn't wait to sleep after dropping him off. Stinks of chemicals and looks like hell. I had to ask for clean sheets and some towels. Opened all the windows to air it out. Tweekers parked below yelling into the night and trying to get attention. "Excuse me excuse me." Fighting each other. No working stove or fridge, just there for display. Filthy filthy filthy. Crack ho residence ran into the ground. So so disappointed in humanity. Praying for a refund because the second night we had booked won't be an option. Not safe for anyone. Not even the tweekers. How did this potentially beautiful place become hell? The ad pictures are obviously from 20 years ago. To the owner...no need to run a hotel like a third world country. This is America. Try at least! You have options!!! Friendly staff, killer location.. not very well cared for.. First room had mold, broken drywall, and a concaved mattress which lead me to find a used needle. Looks great on the outside but beware! We usually stay here every year about this time for a summer gathering with friends up the road. Each year it gets worse. This year we found things growing in the fridge, hair in bed when we pulled back the blankets, hair in the shower, broken sink, cracked toilet, broken counter top, something fuzzy on the wall, very thick dust on the ceiling fan blades above the bed and they removed the smoke alarm. I spoke with hotel clerk about the horrible condition and he wouldn't refund or discount out room fee of $108 We will never stay here again and I recommend you don't either. Staff was really polite. I really wish that I could give a better review but reality is that this could be a really neat little Inn but the lack of maintenance and cleanliness is quite evident. At first glance room seemed decent but anywhere I turned it seemed everything was dirty or dusty and even sheets were stained. The bathroom wasn't clean enough for me to feel comfortable enough to shower in. Location and neighborhood was great though, couldn't have asked for better. Pacific Inn Diner just 2min walk has really great food and we had Moroccan food the in the evening which is just 10 min away and that was great! All in all, this is what you get for 90 bucks a night in the outskirts of LA. If it was cleaner and maintained they'd get a 5. read more

The staff are very friendly and I hate that I'm giving this place a 2 star rating because they're really nice. I came here with my husband, 2 toddlers, and a friend who also brought her husband and 1 toddler. Our room was 104. Pros: -The location is perfect because everything is within a 5 minute walking distance. *Cabrillo Beach *Aquarium *Point Fermin Park *The Korean Friendship Bell *Local diners and store -The exterior is beautiful and feels very inviting. -Comes with free cable and wifi, but don't expect the top of the line wifi service. -The staff is very friendly -The bed is firm and comfortable -They change your garbage and give you clean towels everyday. Cons: - Though the room looked clean, it was very dirty. The comforter had so many spots and so worn that I had to kick it off the bed. Good thing I brought my blankets. There were handprints all over the headboard -_-. Thankfully, I had my hand sanitizer bottle with me and decided to wipe down the room and it was pretty scary. - The bathroom wasn't clean. There was hair on the floor and shower curtain had mildew on it. - The kitchen needs updating! Everything is very old. The refrigerator and microwave was very dirty. They put foil down in refrigerator like its suppose to keep it clean -_-. -The stove (gas stove) doesn't work and kitchen doesn't come with pans and kitchen dishes. -The carpet is dirty so make sure you keep your shoes on. -The club chair was broken and is a danger for everyone that sits in it. ****Hire a new cleaning service maid or retrain them on the proper way of cleaning a room. Don't get me wrong, we had a great time in San Pedro, but there was some weird stuff going on in my friend's room. My friend and her family left a day early. We found out that their room (room 105) was haunted by a black shadow and a woman in a white dress. After doing research on the town, the whole town has a history of hauntings (chills). If you're into the whole spookiness, then check out San Pedro. Though the sight seeing is absolutely stunning, I won't be visiting again. Once was enough for me :-) read more

The inside of the "fridge" in the kitchenette was filled with dead bugs and dirty. There was a small mini fridge placed in the middle of the kitchen, that wasn't working. The fire alarm has been disconnected and missing. The thermostat is broken and barely hanging on the wall. The sofa chair is stained and worn. I wouldn't sit in it. Kitchen lighting is falling from the ceiling. Bathroom lighting barely works. Have to turn on heat lamp to see. Carpet is pulling from floor and lumpy. Two inch gap between bottom of the door and floor. Paint is peeling from the walls. Wifi "network is down", for the entire 5 day stay. No help in fixing it. read more

The location is amazing, down the street from Cabrillo beach and the Korean friendship bell. But that's literally the only positive thing I can say. I had to wait almost 2 extra hours to check in because the room was being "cleaned". Upon entering my room (second floor) the scent of pineapple fabuloso nearly made me barf. The room was filthy. Like really really gross. Moist stinky carpet, greasy stained chair, empty duvet cover with cigarette burns, dead bugs in the shower, toothpaste splattered on the mirror, large brown sticky spot in the kitchenette. The only thing worse than the horror movie flickering lights was the exposed mattress. Exposed mattress y'all!! I went here for a getaway to sit on the beach, not smoke crack. The manager got a really bad attitude when I asked my bed to be remade, and it never was done. I ended up sleeping on my beach towel and using the tv remote through a ziplock bag. There should be a no star option. Let's start with the pro: (singular, yes) they allowed my service dog to stay without charge. I did have to prove his status with papers, which I had ready. Cons: I reserved a king room with a View. The view of three houses single-level houses we're just some tinfoil short of achieving drug house status. A friendly motorcyclist enjoyed ensuring the patency of the car alarm across the street. The owner of said car must enjoy the melodic stylings of that screaming alarm, never shutting it down in under 30 seconds. So did the motorcyclist, he repeated this about 15 times throughout the night. The sounds from the Harbor last all night and sound like a truck backing up. According to the manager, I was hallucinating. He denied the existence of any audible sounds, despite the harbor being a couple blocks away. The room horrific. Upon entering, the smell of Lemon Pledge dominates your senses. It seemed as if an entire bottle had recently been used all over the room. It took about 30 minutes to clear out with every damn window and door open. The carpet was from the 1990s and that was probably the last time it was cleaned. It was wrinkled and places from being worn out and stretched food particles all over. Huge chunks of missing paint on the walls. The electrical outlets looked like if I used them, they would have started a fire. A heavy faux granite storage shelf, (5' long) clearly meant to be a place to put your luggage, was completely cracked down the middle. One handbag away from collapsing on to a person's foot or a child. There was a 1980's RV looking built-in kitchen unit. The floor was ok Modern, filthy. I opened up the refrigerator and it was covered in I don't know what. It looks like a health hazard. It looks like it was something that should have been cleaned up a long time ago and would not have been difficult to do. Instead there lies a second miniature fridge for your use. There is a ceiling fan. It circulates really hot air. I called the manager about this as soon as the Lemon Pledge wore off. I said 'there is a thermostat control with a wire hanging out of it, this room is extremely hot, is there any way to fix this?' He said he'd come by in the morning and fix it. Not helpful. An update, this morning when contacted by Expedia, the managertold them that they don't have air conditioning at this place. He didn't know what I was talking about. This is the same manager I checked in with and spoke to last night. I call some BS. The fire alarm was obviously ripped from the base, not helpful considering it was above one of the most questionable Outlets available in the room. The bathtub would leave you more dirty if you used it. The door, sealing you off from the outside world, failed. A large hole at the bottom, looked like termites, somebody kicked it or shot it. The windows, when closed, almost semi locked. I think that anyone with a moderate amount of desire and grip could open up the window from the outside. This is of course, assuming that one could bypass the mesh screen, standing tall, displaying the rips, tears and apple sized holes with pride. I was afraid of people or bugs working their way into the room as I slept. The fresh air would have been welcomed as the ceiling fan circulating the stagnant hot air sucked. But silly ol' me, I chose safety. ( yes I said bugs, I'm highly arachnophobic and Bugophobic.) My dog brought out some treats he found from behind the bed, several empty sex toy packages and empty bottles. He remained in in his cage for the vast majority of the time, as his knack for crumb hunting could have led to an emergency room visit. I wanted to see this wi-fi go head-to-head with AOL from the 90s. I believe AOL would have won. But I'm biased I only really had five minutes of real actual connection. The rest of the time I was troubleshooting. I admit I was slightly biased thinking it was my computer, because the owners were of a certain nationality often associated with IT. My experience with other properties owned by people of the same culture the Wi-Fi is one of the strongest most consistent features. I called the manager and he said he would reset it, he never did. It was shut off the rest of the night. He's not old, this wasn't an honest mistake due to lack of knowledge or understanding. I contacted Expedia to tell them about this experience. They contacted the manager. He denied denied denied, refused to offer and refused a request to compensate for such a bad room. From what the agent at Expedia recanted to me, the manager claimed I was lying about it all. Nice businesses practice. Pictures don't lie and I have pictures. Don't go here. Even if you're desperate, don't go here. If you're looking to party and trash a room, you could go here, they wouldn't notice. read more

Now the room is terrible: the carpet was not cleaned from previous; no chairs, no table in two-bed room, the furniture is broken; the windows were dirty, the dust was everywhere; the curtains torn off; no conditioning system, only ceiling fans; ice and snow were in the freezer; a big gap between bottom of the door and floor; Wi-Fi was slow. Five stars because this motel has always been the best place for my family and myself to stay in a prime location on the coast of San Pedro, for very reasonable prices. Whether we needed just a room over night or, as when a pipe burst under our house, we needed a room for a week or more, the owners have always made us feel right at home and made sure we were as comfortable as possible. Regular motel rooms - with a bed in an adjoining room, or a cottage which they now call a "suite" which is equipped with a kitchenette - all have been recently spiffed up and are better than ever making this my favorite place to stay when I visit my beloved home town San Pedro. read more

We had to find a hotel late on a Saturday night when the apartment USC had arranged for us did not work out. It was very hard to find a place that did not have bed bug reports and had a reasonable price. After we reserved a room at the Pacific Inn with Expedia, we found out on arriving that due to an error by Expedia, there was in fact no room. But the night manager, Zeal, went out of her way to clean a room at for us at 11:30 p.m. She did a great job, and we decided to stay here all week. The king size bed is quite comfortable, and the room is clean even if it is a little dark. The staff is exceptionally nice, and the owner came over to talk with us about the Expedia problem. I suspect some of the negative reviews that have been posted are by competitors; they have no resemblance to our positive experience here this week. read more

We stayed there on Saturday June 9th, 2018. Thank goodness it was only for one night. If we had the time, we would have canceled and gone to a different hotel. We were there for a wedding that was taking place in a few hours. The staff was friendly, but the place was not clean. The room-king bed- was painted recently, but the furniture was shabby. The bathtub was filthy and the bathroom floors looked dirty also. The room had a kitchenette, but the stove, sink nor refrigerator did not work. The hotel was in a nice area with a nice view, but the room was a HUGE disappointment. :( read more

I was duped. Tired and just needing a place for the night for my family I ended up here from the reviews. For a 100 a night you could get a really nice room at the Holiday Inn. I have on many occasions and this place is just your run of the mill motel with peeling paint, old carpet, tiny bathroom with no fan and windows where you can hear all the traffic driving by you. Don't let the nice paint job of the exterior fool you. Oh and neither the tv or wifi worked. Rip off! I could stay at a motel 6 and pay way less. read more

we wanted a place near the beach, found this place on maps. The reviews were good, and the exterior looked nice(not to mention the owner was very friendly). We checked into a smoking room upstairs. At first glance it looked ok, view of the ocean even. I took a closer look and realized how dirty it was, headboard with "unknown" substances, soap from the previous guests in the shower, someones old socks hanging from the bathroom light fixture, filthy fridge(the maid left two beers in the freezer, score?). I had stayed in worse so i figured "small price to pay for an awesome location". I was wrong, the more time we spent there, the more filth i found. Black mold on shower curtain, blood/fecal matter on lid of toilet, it looked like the carpet under all of the furniture had not been vacumned in AGES(i moved furniture myself and asked the maid to vacumn). So much, our neighbors were shady, traffic at all hours and fighting. The last part, there were roaches. Yup, on top of all that i found roaches while cleaning up leftover trash under the nightstand. We had to throw out food we had bought because of them. So yea, cool location and good pricing, still not worth it. read more

This hotel is awesome. We are staying 2 nights and so far everything has been great. We rented one of their cottages which is very large with 2 beds a hideaway bed sofa and a full kitchen. The only thing they do not have is a coffee maker but no fret within a very short walk there is a cafe that has good coffee readily available. The bathroom is a plus here as well. It is large and very clean. You can either walk right down to the beach where you can catch small waves on one side or you can go across the road to the Bay Area that is for swimming and no waves. There is also a short boardwalk that you can fish off if you please. I imagine we will be staying here on family vacations for many years to come. read more

When I first came the room I was in had a rat hole in the door, dirty floors, bugs and windows without screens, etc. I changed rooms only to find almost the same problems in the next room. The place isn't bad, but I find the reviews on this and other sites surprisingly generous in comparison to my experience. I was surprised that there was no air conditioning. It turned out that the cool ocean breezes were comfortable enough, but i would have thought this would have figured more prominently in the reviews. Price couldn't be beat, and the proprietor was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are big, but not especially clean. As there's no A/C, the dust caked on top of the ceiling fans was a bit disturbing. Direct TV didn't work in my room, but I didn't really need it as this was basically just a base for sleeping a few nights in the LA area. There is an excellent diner a few blocks away that does a great breakfast, and it's just a short walk to the beach. So, it's outdated and could be cleaner, but also friendly, very inexpensive, and in a decent location. read more
