What a great company! In our, almost 40 years of home ownership, we have dealt with many contractors. If Pacific Landcare isn't the best one, they are in the top 5 for sure. We did a complete front yard makeover. Concrete, planters, retaining wall, drainage, fencing, turf, and a swing set. It was a large project with many moving parts. The communication was great. They finished on time (actually early) and on budget. Eduardo was involved in every phase and his guys were here every day . They dealt with little issues as they came up and kept us in the loop on all of them. They really treated this project like it was their own home. I can't say enough about my experience with them. I had the pleasure of working with a landscape designer from Armstrong Nursery, Yulia Ward. She referred me to Eduardo, with Pacific LandCare Design, to do my landscape installation. Eduardo and his team did all the planting, hillside grading, installation of new irrigation and placement of accent lighting. He even recommended that I have a jute hillside cover to hold the "gorilla hair" bark, so I was able to keep the cost of my project down by not needing to install a curb. Eduardo gave me a fair price, he was professional, and communicated well. His team were very respectful of my property and punctual with arrival and departure times.They did fantastic clean up every day. My experience with Pacific Landcare Design was excellent. Eduardo listened to all my initial requests and concerns about our front yard project. He offered great suggestions and explained a few things very well. He was fair with his quote too (lowest of all of them) and flexible when it came to adjusting the amount of materials used and changes to the design. There was no pressure from Eduardo either. Sergio, the crew leader, was great to work with. He had a "can do" attitude about anything and was flexible when I had small requests. Sergio was always smiling and happy and he really knows what he is doing. There were a couple of nice touches they did that were unexpected. Naomi their office manager was very helpful too especially at the onset. It was a lot of work (everything was removed except for the 3 established trees we have in front) and took about 2-1/2 weeks. All lawns and shrubs were removed and replaced with 2 areas of artificial turf, a dry creek bed and 208 plants. The drip system they "designed" based on old sprinkler lines works incredibly well. The whole project was a little more expensive than we had planned but well WORTH IT. Armstrong Nursery provided the landscape design (Gary Chapman -excellent Architect) and plants. Gary also coordinated the plant delivery/installation with Eduardo. Overall there were no surprises and it looks better than we ever expected. We will use Eduardo and Gary again when we start on our backyard late this summer. We constantly receive complements from our neighbors that walk around our cul-de-sac and have had people drive by and stop to look at it. The only thing that I could possibly complain about was how long I had to wait to get Eduardo's team started. I think it was around 10-11 weeks and they held their schedule very well. It only slipped a day or 2 due to rain. It will be 3 weeks since they finished tomorrow and everything is growing well and starting to fill in. We could not be happier. read more

We had our front and back yard redone about one year ago. The design was done by Mimi at Armstrong in Carlsbad. The install was done by Eduardo and his team from Pacific Landcare. I enjoyed every interaction with Eduardo and his staff. Eduardo is personable, knowledgeable and reliable. His team was on time daily, very interactive to ask my desires during install, and kept the project on schedule. At the end of it, Eduardo gave me as much information and instruction as I asked for to allow me to maintain a healthy yard. The yard has grown in beautifully. These guys contacted me to implement a design I had done with Armstrong Garden Centers. So, keep in mind, they HAD the design when they wasted my time by coming out to give me a bid. So, I met their guy at my property and he said he would get me a bid. Long story short... after THREE weeks and THREE un-returned phone calls, I get an EMAIL saying, "we regret to inform you that we are unable to provide a competitive bid at this time." She couldn't even CALL me!?!? I'll tell ya what I suspect really happened, that after three weeks he lost his notes and couldn't give me a bid anyhow. These people are extremely unprofessional. I'd run and don't even waste your time having them come out to bid. read more

Eduardo worked very closely with the landscape designer's plans and always informed us of options as progress was made, taking into consideration future irrigation needs for the unimproved portion of our property. Every time we requested extra work or changes, he obliged us, taking time to explain in detail how he was going to do the modifications. A very polite, patient and skilled individual who listened to our every concern, Eduardo would explain advantages and disadvantages along with the cost factors so that there were no surprises or disappointments. Also, two of his workers, Ariel and Sergio (who spoke very little English) needed very little supervision from Eduardo. This summer we had our front yard and part of the back yard replaced and upgraded to qualify for the SoCal water rebate program and in a design collaboration between Pacific Landcare and Armstrong. This involved removing a giant tree as well as the old lawn and laying down the newly developed Kurapia ground cover. Everything performed by Pacific Landcare was done perfectly. The crews were prompt, courteous, hard-working, and very competent. Eduardo managed and supported them extremely well. For a couple of last minute adjustments to both design and installation, Eduardo was easy to work with and offered spot on suggestions for how to address and improve the design element and installation. He also provided plenty of advice about caring for the new plants and Kurapia. Eduardo and his team are a joy to work with. We are delighted with the look and quality of the final product and have had a steady stream of highly positive comments from our neighbors.
