Because of the bus, we didn't have to drive 4-5 cars and figure out where to go and where to park. Our two bus drivers, Norm and Kerry, were so great and gave us some amazing suggestions. They were always on time, and showed us spots that we had no idea existed and would never have seen otherwise. I recommend this company if you need bus transportation. They are very friendly and reliable, and the office manager was very helpful, as well.

We saw far more than we would have had we been doing this on our own (and would not have made it to Timberline Lodge as we are not accustomed to driving on snow). Being that it was during the week and not during the peak season, it was not very crowded. Being a private tour, there was greater flexibility and efficiency. And then there was our guide, John, who raised the quality of the tour experience to a level far exceeding our highest expectations. John is very friendly and personable, incredibly knowledgeable of the history of the area, and truly passionate about what he does. We could not have asked for a better touring experience. The next time that we are in Portland, we shall do another of their private tours and hopefully be John's guest once again.

Why drive yourself to Multnomah Falls ( still closed due to the carelessness and bravado of a 15 year old playing with fireworks in the forest) and miss half the views when you can book a $60 1/2 day tour with "door-to-door" pick up from your hotel? The guide, John was prompt and the vehicle clean and ready. Overcast or not, the show goes on. We stopped by several other downtown hotels, then headed on our way. JOHN was a wealth of local knowledge and sprinkled in little-known eco and geological facts without ANY hint of condescension. He was fun and very knowledgeable, taking time to be a roving personal photographer. All along the way, John pointed out numerous seasonal and year round waterfalls, spending the appropriate amount of time at each stop. TIP: Take a few dollars for the gift shop and outdoor snack stand where you can pick up a warming cup of coffee or sweet treat.

For my birthday, I decided to take my friends and their children on the Polar Express Train ride…read more I needed to get 28 people from Portland to Hood River so I called around for bus services. NW Navigator returned with a quote quickly and they were by far the best price around. The bus we rented had 33 passenger capacity, 2 rows with 2 bucket seats (+seatbelts) per row, a television so the kids could watch a movie, a small but functional bathroom, and a stereo system. There were cubbies up top for purses, food, etc. There were also two tables with cupholders with 4 seats surrounding them. The bus was clean, the driver was friendly, and the ride was enjoyable. We brought beverages for the kids and for the adults (premixed cocktails work really well) with plenty of snacks. This was a great way to travel, particularly with 10 kids all under the age of 7. For the toddlers, we brought the car seats on since it was easier to get them to sleep in their respective car seats. This was not a "party bus" with a long bench of seats facing each other and party lights. However, it was perfect for us with the ability to restrain and corral the small children in their own seats.

I can't say enough good things about both the coach and our driver Erik. Coach: spacious, spotless, reliable, roomy, large picture windows. Erik: skillful, polite, safety-conscious, affable, knowledgeable, helpful and immaculately turned out. in addition, Erik didn't just "drive the bus." He imparted local knowledge during his daily "reports from the bridge," making him an equal partner with our tour guides. Both coach and Erik: a totally professional combination.

We were touring wine country and excited for what we hoped would be a good experience, as it was one of our first trips since covid. I have never been so disappointed. The communication was terrible, and that should have been the first warning sign. The tour has the potential to be good but the services were lacking, the accommodations were not as advertised, route details were poor, and the tour overall was not at all what we had hoped for. My husband tried to call but never got a return call back from the manager. We have been on several similar tours with other companies and this by far was the biggest let down. I cannot recommend this company.

I have the distinction of being LifeCycle Adventures' first client for their Oregon bike touring…read more I had a 5-day/4-night solo bike tour of the Willamette Valley in Oregon in late April 2010. My route included Portland, Forest Grove, McMinnville, and Silverton, and it was tailored to my own specific interests and cycling abilities. Although I was their first Oregon cyclist riding during a decidedly dicey time of the year, my experience was fantastic from start to finish. The tour was organized meticulously and with a personal touch. Weeks in advance of my trip, I was in frequent contact with one of the tour organizers by e-mail and phone as they worked out my route and prepared for my arrival. They gave very personalized treatment and were always friendly and helpful. The accommodations I had each night always exceeded my expectations. In Forest Grove I enjoyed an exquisite 1910s Craftsman style bed and breakfast -- all to myself! -- and the proprietor brought me over a hot meal from the diner she also ran a few blocks way. The bike I rented was a real delight and a surprise. I was expecting a Trek road bike based on the information provided by the website; that would've been adequate. Instead I was given a Masi, a fine California brand with Italian racing heritage. A real treat to ride. One day I took a minor spill on the bike, and the next morning one of the tour organizers drove down to meet me at the b&b to check out the (minor) damage and replace a derailleur cable. Nice to know that you can count on them to not only cart your luggage to the next town on the route but be there to assist you wherever you are. And indeed, throughout the trip I was in surprisingly frequent contact with the organizes by phone, email and text message. (It's definitely a plus to have a smart phone while riding.) Being an east coast native, I absolutely loved Oregon. The Willamette Valley is charming and beautiful, full of orchards, wineries, hop fields, and tree nurseries. Folks were friendly everywhere I went. And the wine! The best Pinot Noir anywhere. If you're in McMinnville, you must try Nick's for an elegant but relaxed dinner. Small town sophistication. There were a couple of minor glitches in the bike route. Some of the mileage information and one turn instruction were inaccurate, and once or twice I encountered unpaved roads when I wasn't expecting them. But that was to be expected as a sort of pioneer. (The tour organizers warned me of this too, and reduced my charges accordingly.) I'm confident, knowing the tour organizers just from my experience with them on this trip, that they'll work out these minor kinks and have better route and guidebook information as they head into the summer season. I would have given LifeCycle a full 5 star review if it weren't for the latter issue. Overall I was delighted with the support they provided on the trip and hope to go with them again soon.
