    Went there last night, Saturday 3/26/22 before 8pm. The doors were locked. Thinking they're not really open til 9pm like it's notes online.

I was browsing through a sale rack and two customer service associates were chitchatting by the sales rack and did not even move and continue on with their chitchat. No smile, no excuse me, no anything. On the way to the cashier to pay for my stuff, I passed by another male cs associate with no smile, no anything. Are they not happy to be working at the store? Before I left, I approached Naiya and told her she is the only one associate who is friendly and welcoming at the store, the rest needs to find another job!

I found what I was looking for on a display near the entrance of the store and I was pleased. I selected 2 pair of Converse, one of each high and low tops, and went looking for a sales person to help me get the size I needed. I walked past the small crowd of gigglers while looking at them to see if they worked there, clearly holding the shoes I needed assistance with, and got no response. I walked all the way to the back of the store to see if there was an associate to help me find the size shoe I had picked. Saw no one there. Finally after about 5 minutes, I walked to the register line and asked a charming young lady with long dark hair if she would help me find the sizes I wanted. In the meantime, when I was next in line, another sales staff came behind the register to assist with checkout with a huge smile on her face. I saw that she was the same one I had walked past looking for someone to help me when I was ignored. The other staff member came around from behind the counter with a great demeanor and huge smile and went to the back room to get my shoes. When she came out, I casually told her that if there is a manager in the store with other staff, they need to be more aware of customers entering the store requiring assistance. She retrieved my shoes and went on her way. Within a few minutes, the manager came up to me while I was beginning to try on my shoe and told me, "If you have anything to say to me, you need to tell me directly and not my staff!". I calmly told him that he might want to be more aware of customers coming in looking for assistance and it is always possible that someone coming through the door could be a 'corporate' to check on the store and its staff. He then proceeded to tell me, "Don't tell me how to do my job!". I switched the subject as I saw that he was getting more belligerent with me to an issue with a coupon that I was supposed to get, 20% off my first order with no indication that it was online only, and was told that he doesn't have that responsibility to offer such a discount, it was corporate responsibility. He walked away without saying anything after that. If this is how they, you Tilly's, treat their, your, customers, then they, you, can keep it. A simple "I apologize" would have gone a long way to ameliorate the situation and this review on Yelp would never have been written. I will never recommend this store to anyone. In fact, I will do everything I can to dissuade anyone I know, and don't, to ever shop here. Staff needs to have some sort of uniform or logo on their clothing to indicate that they are indeed staff. They also need retail sales training as they are pretty much dunderheads except for the one brunette staff member who was very good at her job. (She should be manager!) I could not distinguish customer from staff. This is no way to run a business. If I could give this store a minus rating, 2 of its staff members incl the 'manager' in particular, I would. Sad and sorry store that you have Tilly's. You need to get your 'manager' who was more like an idiot with a giant chip on his shoulder to a management training course, or better yet, hire someone who actually knows how to do their job. Loser of the highest caliber. I was in the store on Sunday, 2/12/23 and checked out at 4:42:21 PM. Better yet whoever is reading this, find somewhere else to shop as they don't much know or even care about customer service and will snap back at your questioning their authority. He got me a variety of bean boot styles, heights, and sizes to try on to truly see which I liked best. After my research was complete, he found us back in the store to have me try one more boot that had my preferred size, width, height, and was on major sale! He never applied pressure for me to buy and actually recommended I put it on a hold if I wanted to think about it. He made sure I was well informed of my options and went above and beyond for me. I ended up coming back Sunday and bought the boots! LL Bean has some great products where I've bought blankets, flannels, sweaters, and slippers previously but Don's service was some of the best I've experienced in a while.

There is also a Soma store at Woodfield Mall, but my favorite location is here at The Arboretum of South Barrington. The sales staff here are always helpful and friendly without being over-bearing or persistent. Be sure to check out the sales racks in back and join their mailing list to watch for rewards points and special coupons for even greater value. On my last visit, I spent around $60, but I had $35 in coupons. I also appreciate the good quality paper shopping bags Soma uses and often reuse, recycled or use them as gift bags.

I could not remember my size, so I ordered what I thought would fit. Every bra fit incorrectly. Not a big deal, I went to the store to exchange them. There was a woman being trained. She clearly was not ready to be on her own but they left her to take care of me for most of my experience. 1st she tried to tell me that I didn't purchase one of my bras there. (She didn't bother asking the associate that was training her, she just assumed because they didn't sell that particular bra in their store that it wasn't from Soma)The associate had to correct her. Instead of asking, because she had no clue, she proceeded to tell me that I could not take that particular bra back through the store, but that I needed ship it back and contact the company the way that way had purchased it. Again, the associate had to correct her. (The associate was in the back and I had to ask her to go and verify that I could not return it in the store) As I was trying on the bras they did have in stock, she took forever to find them. I love Soma bras but every single bra she gave me from one of their lines was misshapen, it looked like it was crushed. She not only made up answers instead of asking when she did not know, she had a slight attitude like I was inconveniencing her. Needless to say I returned 3 out of the 5 bras. I'm not going to pay good money for misshapen bras and bad service. I have not been back since and am still debating if I even want to go back and give it another try.

    Here's the 411 on LB…read more.. They make very nice/visually appealing undergarments. Sizing can be tricky! I currently am wearing 3 different sizes of different style bras! This store's staff is 75% of the time helpful, kind and happy to assist. The other 25% of the time, it's like they would rather be anywhere but there working. The quality of their clothing has gone down hill and not just a little...I mean, we have gone from jeans that would last me for years to "I think I could get the same quality at Walmart!" bad. Their corporate customer service is an absolute joke. If you have ever dealt with these script-reading-couldn't-care-less-about-the-customer fools, you know what I'm talking about. Bottom line, it's hard to find clothes that fit just right or lay just perfectly for a plus size woman and Lane Bryant used to fulfill the need in this industry that was severely lacking but much like other industries, I imagine, the cost of materials has increased, so they find ways to cut back and at the cost of customers, no less. I don't care what anyone says: you cannot buy clothes online! At least I can't. So if it's the convenience of online shopping that has affected this retailer or not, quality of the clothing and customer service is top on my list. Price is what it is. Lose the coupons, get your shit together and get back to the basics! I'm waiting but my patience is running out.
