Customers Beware! This place RUINED a special leather jacket that meant a great deal to me. My family has done business with them for many years and it was at least acceptable if they kept using them. I personally haven't done any business with them so I went off my family recommendation of a place that they knew was known to them. I asked the employees and owner specifically about the leather and that it needed a very gentle treatment and was assured it was something they could handle and would be taken care of with the utmost care no matter what.
After getting the jacket back, within less than two weeks, it started to fall apart. The leather looked like it was tearing and melting all over... not just near seems or stress points. In fact, it was still in the protective plastic because it the weather wasn't necessary to wear it yet. I've owned lots of leather and never saw something like this. When the employees and owner were confronted, in a polite but firm way, they did not care one bit about what happened. We have used them before multiple times and gave them plenty of business in the past. I see lots of other reviews here too about this company has changed. Maybe they did good work before or it depended on what it was but not anymore!!
Everyone is all thumbs up and happy until something goes wrong. It's during these times that truly show what a business is made of and what their morals are. Accidents happen and I understand that - but have the decency and proper customer service to make it right. The product was in their care and they screwed up either via negligence or intentionally poor work. I know exactly what it was like before and how it showed up afterwards within a couple weeks. And their poor treatment of me when I asked them about was terrible!
This was not something I could forgive! As a special gift from my now-deceased wife, this meant the world to me. When I wear it, I feel like she's there to hold and comfort me. That's sappy I know but its how I felt and tried to express to them. When we told them we would not be doing business with them ever again, they denied they had any wrong-doing, never talked about trying to make it right, and when asked if they cared about what a long-time and loyal customer thought about them? They just glared at us (my family member and I who mentioned them) without a care in the world... the owner herself just looked right through us. She did not care one damn bit and you could see she was the one who was angry that I dare imply her work wasn't the best. I was very disgusted and will not only never do business with them but want to spread the word so I hope nobody has to be crushed like I felt losing something precious and then add insult to injury with this careless and rude treatment.
If you have special clothing or leather you need cleaned or repaired, stay far far away from these CRIMINALS AND CROOKS! I can't believe after all the years our family has done business that they did not even express the slightest care in the world. These are sharks and liars who vandalize your property, have the nerve to charge you for it, and don't even care about your satisfication or prior loyalty. This is HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!
UPDATE: I have reached out to Calvin Klein, who originally made the jacket, and they are working with me. They at least are gving me the courtesy and time of day to hear me out. I am sending them photos of damage and other info but they have already said it sounds like the leather was totally mistreated and not protected. It will help with a civil lawsuit and they have listened and are trying something when Pacific View Cleaners just shrugged it off and smirked at the misfortune. I'll be taking them to the cleaners before this is said and done. It's not over but please, if my story can help anyone, stay away from these nasty, greedy, and negligent crooks.
