Maureen is very skilled in her work. She took in some inches around my bust and added a bustle for the long train on my dress. Her prices are fair and affordable, and she has a quick turn around time for alterations! For my wedding dress, she had it ready in 2 weeks. My wedding dress zipper kept getting stuck even though tried to adjust it, so she replaced the whole zipper entirely, and it was perfect! I also brought my reception dress here for alterations as well. After my wedding, I brought both dresses and my veil back for dry cleaning, and she had it ready for pick up in 3 days. Sadly will not be returning and wouldn't recommend. I brought some pairs of jeans for repair and they came back very uneven (seams back of jeans don't line up, and not evenly brought in from each side). Brought them to other tailors to try and fix and they even said it's nearly impossible with the damage done. I was so impressed- Maureen is a sweet woman, she quickly measured me in all 3 of my pants and I was out within 10 minutes (probably less). Absolutely in love with this shop! She helped me with opening up and loosening up a dress that was only an inch away from completely fitting me because my rib cage was too wide. Came here after getting quite a few quotes in the area for a hem and shoulder adjustment/alteration for a bridesmaid dress. Over messages I was given a rough estimate of $40 for the hem and $20 for a shoulder take in, which was lower than the quotes I was receiving from other places. When I came in, my total to be paid at pick up was at $110. $90 for the hem, $20 for the shoulder. Of course, a quote is dependent on material, difficulty, etc., so I did not complain, but quote versus actual prices ended up being almost double. For a satin, a-line, unlined dress, this price was higher than what any from my group of bridesmaid with the same dress paid at other places. When I came in to pay and receive the dress she again upped the price by $5, making my total $115, which I found out after, was not the price given on my receipt when the dress was dropped off ($110) The actual work was fine and did the job, and the shop owner was very nice, but I do not think I would return here after my own personal experience. read more

I came here to have my pants waist adjusted since Lululemon doesn't do waist alterations I looked for places near by me and found Maureen's with most positive reviews I came here. The lady who help me was very nice took my measurements and told me when to come pick them up. The fit was perfect around my waist. The lady who runs this business is very sweet and no issues with the dry cleaning. But I have had several alteration issues with things I have taken to her. Poorly hemmed or stitched, or incorrectly taken up. Maybe in the past it was better but I would not recommend this place for alterations. I brought in a Moncler vest to alter (was too small, needed it a size up), and she was able to produce the results I wanted! Was visiting from Sacramento and needed 4 pairs of denim jeans hemmed before I left. I came by on Saturday to drop off the jeans. After measuring the pants on me and my wife, she told us that it would be done the following Tuesday. I asked is there anyway it could be done sooner as I had to head back to Sacramento on Monday. She told us yes how about tomorrow / referring to the day after which would be Sunday. The next day I came on Sunday the place ended up being closed. No worries as we sometimes forget and knew I can have my buddy of mine pick it up and ship it to me. 1 week later after he ships out the pants, I receive 1 pair of pants that were not hemmed and also I am missing the pair of pants that she used as a reference. So I paid $15 for a pants to not be hemmed and now I'm lucked out and I'm missing a pair of pants. I'm also missing the back tag on one of my jeans which I do not know how. I really hate writing bad reviews but I'm a little upset. Super nice lady, it's just unfortunate that the services could not be done. read more

Myung was very kind and quick in assessing and pinning my pants. I got 2 pairs of pants tailored and it was $50 total w tax. 1 pleated pair hemmed ($15) + inseam shortened ($10) and 1 pair with ankle drawstrings hemmed ($20). Unfortunately, I do not feel that the job justified the price due to uneven seams and noticeable differences in the previously new pants. There are misaligned side seams on both pants and the pleated pants have lost the pleats/texture at the bottom due to straight stitching along the now thicker hem allowance. The seam was previously just along the edge of the fabric. I am a bit upset with the pants and it has discouraged me from wanting to return for future alterations. Update: They were very gracious in offering to alter my pants again. The hem on the black pants was able to be reduced slightly which will help with retaining the pleats. The pink pants have more superficial issues so they remain mostly unchanged with the exception of realigning the seam on one leg. I appreciate that they responded to customer feedback. read more

I took a new Alexander Wang sweater to Maureen, which had never been worn, thus, the price tag was still attached. As I removed the price tag (I admit, quite carelessly in my haste) I ripped the sleeve. It was an ugly rip and not on the seam. I was doubtful it could be repaired. To my utter surprise, not only did Maureen repair the sweater, however, if my life depended on it, I would not be able to find evidence of any repair whatsoever. She works in excellence, her prices are reasonable, and although I live in San Diego, I will continue to send my clothing to her when needed.
