PRICING: Totally fair. I was pleasantly surprised to have been charged $25 for an original hem. To my understanding, it's more labor intensive compared to a standard hem. The rating is only for alterations. I brought in two pairs of pants and had specific requests on one of the hems. One was tailored correctly but the other was incorrectly hemmed, even with specific instructions. When I told the gentleman it was not correct, he responded saying there was not enough fabric. I felt the thickness and, being a sometimes-sewer myself, I knew there was still some to correct it. Though he debated it with me and said they "might have some fabric left ". Not reassuring. They did correct the issue and I had to come back a week later, but as a first timer and someone who is detailed about my clothing, it made me unnecessarily nervous taking my items here when i walked in and noticed there was no tailor on site who I could give my specific requests to. But I trusted their process and hoped my request would be passed along. Service was good but as a detailed person, I'm not completely convinced this is the right tailor for me. read more

The parking can be somewhat hectic because Sam's Cleaners shares a (large) parking lot with other businesses and the lot can get busy during peak hours. But I've been three times & Sam is courteous, kind & friendly (as is his dad!). Dry cleaning always comes back well cleaned. Prices are fair / reasonable & better priced than many other dry cleaners / cleaners in South Bay. I have a few closer to my home, but I don't mind driving the extra 10 minutes to Sam's, as this is now my go to place. My clothes are always ready on the date promised. I had two green sweatshirts with heavy oil/fat stains from food that wouldn't come out even with dish soap and baking soda along with multiple wash cycles. I took it here and he told me he would handle it and make sure that the color of the sweatshirt wouldn't fade at all. When I got it back, it was perfect. I had some jeans and dress pants hemmed, and they look great! I was hesitant on hemming jeans because the factory hem is hard to replicate. I tried it and they look amazing. If your jeans have a really faded/distressed hem, the new hem won't look like that. But mine are not so distressed and the hem looks good. Easy experience, friendly service. read more

My first visit and it was the text book example of white glove customer service. From drop off to pick up it's how I wish every interaction could be. I walked in and was immediately greeted with a warm, professional and positive hello. I have to say that is more and more rare as people either can't make eye contact, may exhibit they have no desire to be where they are or have no idea what they are doing. I can't tell you how refreshing it was to walk in and be greeted so warmly. I explained I had not been there before but wanted to dry clean a cocktail dress and sweater. The young man was very kind and told me that it would not be a problem and we went over both pieces together to mark any specific spot. He was thorough, took his time and didn't rush me when going over the two Items I brought in. He marked everywhere I pointed out and said they would look both over carefully and asked for a bit of information to create an account. It was very simple. I was pleasantly surprised when that part was complete I was told that your first time there gets you a discount. How cool is that! Just got better and better. The cherry on the cake was I was asked when I needed it, not told a date! That was really great. Lastly I inquired about when you pay and was told not to worry about it until pick up. A few days later at pick up... greeted by the same smiling person who welcomed me and was kind when I couldn't find the receipt I knew I had in my purse. He said I just need your phone number, I remember you. That was such a nice relief and just like that my dress and sweater were there neatly on hangers in a bag and paying was a breeze.
