We used Pack & Load Services on the recommendation of PODS. Ours was almost strictly furniture. They were very resistant to listening to what we wanted moved and how we wanted the furniture packed. We were unloaded by a PODS crew who pointed out all of the damage the packing crew did to our belongings. They put a couch up against one of the rope pins and made 2 big rips in the back. Our table top was so scratched we had to replace it. They claimed that I signed a form saying that they were only responsible for $25 each piece; however, the form was on a clipboard held by one of the packing crew who was pointing to the hours they spent and then where to sign - he effectively hid their liability policy. They maintain their A+ rating with the BBB by leaving claims open. They are a scam company and I am writing a letter to the CEO of PODS and ask her to please take them off their list of recommended companies. read more

Too bad we can't go negative on the ratings. Please, if you are in San Diego call someone else! I am a 55 yr old family man and have moved numerous times in my life. This one was memorable for all the wrong reasons. They couldn't cash my check fast enough, but let me list my complaints: 1) Was given a 10am time to meet movers (took the day off of work and hired extra workers) 2) Was given (only AFTER I called a new time of 12noon) 3) Was given a 3rd time of 1pm (again only after I called) 4) Movers actually called me and gave me a 230 arrival time which finally happened. Had to have my POD movers come back the following day because they couldn't load it in time because of their late arrival) 5) They LEFT dozens of boxes and plants (large potted palms) behind even though we walked through the house and pointed them out specifically). I was charged hundreds of dollars by landlord for him having to move boxes to storage! 6) Didn't send enough works even though I stated exactly what needed to be done for our move - we had to hire extras. 7) HUGE STRESS as they arrived so late in the work day as to ensure we were NOT going to finish in time. 8) After calling to complain about all this we only got an 'oh well'. NO financial consideration for all my over charges and miscalculations that caused me out of pocket expenses with land lord and extra workers. The only nice thing I can say is our movers were super nice and let us know that the stuffed shirts in the office were only interested in making sales which was evident when I called and didn't even receive an apology. I wish I had researched this company, but since the number came with my POD order I thought they would be honest and reputable. Instead they refused to use the blankets I provided for wrapping my furniture and used 3 sheets of brown and white paper, calling it a "disposable pad" and charged me $73.50 for 15 pads. There was nothing padded about the paper. They also charge a 3 hour min on either end of the load and unload, which they tell you upfront, but my job only took 1.5 hours to load and 1 hour to unload. They certainly made enough money off me to refund $73.50. Their employee said he was new and didn't know, however the company said he wasn't new. Doesn't matter... never once did he refer to the paper as a "disposable pad" that I would be charged for until I had to sign the document when they were done packing and leaving. I see now they don't have very good reviews and I understand why after talking to several of their employees on the phone without a suitable resolution. They wouldn't let me talk to a supervisor or give me the name. Be warned! read more

They sent a crew led by a guy with a headset stuck on his head, constantly speaking with someone, while complaining all the while that he was too old for this sh**. He was accompanied by two young kids, one of which swiped alcohol from our fridge multiple times and was drinking in our house, on the job. They damaged virtually everything you can imagine, overstated materials used (and left it all hidden behind the condo so they'd not have to return it.) They failed to even complete the move, as they showed up with a truck several sizes smaller than that which we had contracted, and brought an extra guy they tried to bill for who must have been in his late 50s/early 60s, and spent most of the time in the air conditioned truck, unable to assist. They did not reassemble anything they took apart. The dispatcher Christy Wuest was rude, angry, accusatory and unprofessional. She agreed to discuss the bill the next day, but instead avoided all calls and sent a bill for more than 2X what was originally discussed. We have more than $4,000 of damage from this move, and they send a letter saying they will provide $126.00 and that we need to sign a waiver. My attorney is now going to be reaching out to Christy and team with a very different message. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. read more

These guys are crooks. That's the best way to describe them. They overcharge for their services, rush through a job and pack your things in a POD with no care or concern as to their weight or how the packing may damage your items. I don't have expensive things but each item I own was paid for by my own hard work. They stacked heavy boxes on light boxes - crushed. Stacked a set of golfclubs on an upside-down nightstand - broken shelf. Coffee table stacked on empty closet organizer - crushed. Bathroom over-the-toilet shelf/stand was "wrapped" so tightly that it bent the legs and now is unusable!! I asked them about damage and no one replied. A week later I asked again and was told my request had to go through this person, that person, this form had to be mailed (what the heck? heard of email much????). The form finally arrived and had so many conditions that could NEVER be met. Plus, their liability is limited to $25 per item with a move maximum of $250. WTF? At the end of the packing, they shoved a review form in my face and insisted I complete it on the spot. Never again will I do so. Nor will I EVER use or recommend Pack & Load Services. read more

If only I could give 0 stars. The company showed up to our 2 bed 2 bath apartment to pack our belongings and load them into our Uhaul that was big enough for a 3 bedroom house. We contracted with them to have a specific amount of movers there to make sure everything was completed in a timely fashion. However, 2 of the "contracted" employees were underage girls, 10 & 12 years of age, who missed school and broke child labor laws to be there. Then, they forgot a marker to label my boxes and used my child's expo marker... used our tape and tape dispenser because they didn't bring one, had to go get more boxes middle of job because they didn't bring enough... the list goes on. There are many many more issues but I don't have time to cover it all as it would take way too long. Needless to say, they didn't finish packing our apartment, left our truck incomplete, our belongings on the ground around the truck, and left the job because "they couldn't get anything more in the truck". I have two young children (10 months and 3 yrs at the time) with no family to help with this horrible situation we now were in. We let them know of our dissatisfaction, I even opened a case on BBB. We haven't received any refund or even apology!!!! They have lied and are beyond deceitful. Extremely dishonest company and I would be disgusted if I knew anyone who worked for this company because of the lack of values and ethic. We paid over $2000 for their services that caused more mess than if I would have just done it myself. Don't even let the thought cross your mind of working with this company! Two movers. They moved most of our boxes and furniture down and into the container while I was disassembling it. I hired the full package. Thing was fine until the clock ticketed 4 hours. One of the movers wanted to finish it and hushed to seal the container with a mattress. There was still room available. I could add for boxes and a folding table before they arrived with the mattress. With a few items still out of the container, the mover got mad and started threatening us. The whole politeness vanished. He wanted to clock his four hours, I think, and leave. I hired a non time bonded full load. It was a good experience up to the last five minutes. I got a few extra things that I needed to squeeze in the car. I think that ending was unprofessional and would not hire them again. Still waiting for my container to arrive though. read more

TLDR: I hired them to load my stuff into a POD. The guys stopped working when it came time to load my treadmill, stating that I needed to pay an additional fee for the treadmill, and that they would not do any more work until I paid it. I flipped my lid. I emailed the company, attaching the contract they drafted and the terms & conditions from their website, and asked them to show me where their own contract, terms and/or conditions mentioned any additional fee for loading treadmills. They were unable to do so. I did not pay the imaginary fee. They then billed my credit card for time over and above the baseline three hours, without any invoice or explanation of how they calculated that sum, despite the fact that they had not worked the whole time they were at my house. FULL STORY: The move got off to a rough start when they told me that they had forgotten their tools. There was time spent discussing this, making calls about this, trying to work around this, laboriously taking my furniture apart by hand in ways it is not meant to be taken apart (then equally laboriously putting it back together when I objected), and finally going to buy some tools. So while the total time - from when they first arrived to when they finally left - was five hours, they never sent me a breakdown of what portion of that time was spent working. They simply charged my credit card for an additional $300 over the base fee, without any invoice. When I emailed them and asked for a breakdown of the time that they believed I owed them money for, they did not send me one. Then there was the treadmill. They actually waited until the treadmill was halfway moved - so that it was sitting in the middle of the hallway - before telling me that I needed to pay an extra fee for them to load it. They said that head office had told them not to do any further work until I paid it. I spent seven years as a consumer protection attorney, so let's just say that I do not react well to certain types of threats. The lead guy got back on the phone with headquarters, and magically - after my legalese-y tantrum - I did not need to pay the fee. Christine Owens from headquarters then sent me an email saying that they were oh-so-generously waiving the $85 fee that they normally would have charged for loading a treadmill. There is no mention of such a fee on the contract they had sent me. Nor was any fee mentioned on the Terms & Conditions section of their website (which the contract incorporates by reference). It's not even mentioned on the Pricing List that says "Please do not take this sheet to residence" that they left lying around. I twice emailed Ms. Owens and the sales staff, asking for some indication of where they were getting this fee from. No one responded to my question. I was also disturbed by the paperwork that they asked me to sign when they first arrived. If for some bizarre reason you decide to hire this company, please read that stuff. If it says that you must sign it before they start work, but also says that you agree that they did not (past tense) damage any of your stuff (as if you could possibly know that before they start work), you probably should not sign it. read more

Horrible. We paid for 60 disposal moving pads, they used 15. We provided piles of moving blankets, they used none. 75% of our stuff was damaged. Everything was scratched. They piled a saw from our garage on top of a nursing chair which is now stained with rust and has holes in it. They piled bikes on top of a fabric head board which now is covered in oil stains. Wood tables and chairs scratched beyond recognition. Washer and dryer are coated in scratches from a metal table piled on top. They piled boxes labeled text books on the top of a pile of 5 other boxes labeled fragile- the text books boxes fell and smashed other boxes. The worst moving company I have ever used. It honestly looks like they were packing to purposefully trash our stuff. Worst of all, when you try to make a claim, they offer a maximum of $250. That is all.. for what I would estimate is $5000 of damage at a minimum. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY, THEY ARE A SCAM. read more

Packing service for PODS on 8/21/21. Agreed upon price was $689 for three hours of packing. Packers supposed to show up between 8-11am and supposed to be 3 people. They agreed to disassemble all furniture, using their own tools, as well as provide shrink wrap and wrap all furniture. After nobody showed up from 8-11am, I had to call them and they said they couldn't reach the crew that was scheduled. Over an hour later they called back saying I had to return to the house for a new crew at 1-2pm. Upon arrival of the new (different) crew, there was only 2 people and they did not bring shrink wrap materials or tools to disassemble furniture. I was told I would need to purchase these materials and find tools to use myself. I ended up purchasing all materials and had to shrink wrap and disassemble all furniture myself. I moved as much stuff as the two packers and they used my dolly because they didn't have one (thankfully I had one!). This company has TERRIBLE customer service and does not take responsibility for their shortcomings. No reimbursement or refund offered. Pack & Load has taken no responsibility or tried to resolve any issues. I am fighting the charges via my credit card company and via the BBB. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! This is a referral service on the PODS.com website. I paid in advance for loading and unloading in a major state to state move. I chose this service, because I am one person, unable to lift heavy boxes and furniture. The POD with all my worldly possessions were delivered, and like PODS they were sure to majorly disappoint. Saturday they called twice to confirm arrival time to unload, with no e.t.a. In the end they simply never showed up. I have all my money tied up in this service with PODS picking up the container on Monday morning. They are not open on Sunday, and I am left to blow in the wind. read more

This "Company" is trash. I had a move planned for the end of the month but had to cancel due to a postponement outside my control. PODS recommended Pack and Load Services so I assumed (wrongly) that they would be a respectable company. I probably should have visit Pack and Load Service's website first and read EVERYTHING, but I digress. So I called them and and we set the pick-up date, no one so much as mentioned a cancellation fee to me at the time so I thought nothing about it. However 2 days later (25 days before the move was scheduled) I called them to cancel the move, and that's when they notified me about the cancellation fee of nearly $100.00. I told the rep no one mentioned it when I agreed on them as being my packers for the move. He came back with "well it's right there on the website" I then read the website, it's under "miscellaneous crap that no one ever gets to after reading their novel of a contract" section. After having then read other reviews, which I wish I'd have done first, I realize this, among MANY other problems is a common occurrence for Pack and Load Services. read more

Amazing service from the crew that moved my furniture all into a POD! They were professional and courteous. They were fast and very efficient. We are located in Pleasant Hill, CA. **BEWARE** **DO NOT USE** ** IF YOUR ITEMS ARE DAMAGED THEY DO NOT HAVE THE COVERAGE TO REPLACE**. If I could leave a negative star I absolutely would. They loaded a stone table top into a PODS container flat on the ground versus storing it on its side as is common professional knowledge for a cross country move. It was a $5,800 table so I was frustrated but confident when they told me how to proceed with their elaborate claims process that they would be replacing the item they destroyed. Per their request, I obtained a quote for replacement, it's weight, and how much I felt was a "reasonable" value, which I found to be as unprofessional and amateur wording but I complied with the full value since it was only a few months old. I was required to mail the paperwork vs email. After waiting 2.5 weeks, I received a letter stating they would give me $25.00 as is their liability policy that I signed that is .60 per pound of item with a max of $250 for the entire load. I have 30 days to sign and my signature release them from any and all future claims. I was floored and immediately contacted the corporate office but was told by clearly a low level manager, that this was all they had to offer and it was essentially take it or leave it. Thankfully, I have an arsenal of attorney friends that can take it from here but I was disgusted both by their response and the unprofessionalism of the "senior manager", whatever that is. I would NEVER recommend them and have contacted PODS as well since they recommended them. As I now can see, We are not the only one with issues with this fraud of a company. I hired 3 movers to move my 3 bedroom home into a POD in my driveway. They were two hours late, they took frequent breaks of at least 5 to 10 minutes smoking cigarettes. They bad mouthed Pack and Load services and tried to get me to hire them. They told me that I would have to pay for the shrink wrap and the tape. And, they spilled gatorade over the carpeting upstairs. And, they left with 18 boxes and five pieces of furniture still not in the POD. And now, Pack and Load is charging me for an extra hour. I will NEVER use there services again. read more

Frustrating experience! We also were referred to this company by PODS, who will be hearing from us about this poor recommendation. They subcontracted to a local moving company called Ready 2 Go Movers in the Boston area. They were competent though they were late, and seemed to know what they were doing. I ordered 30 paper pads when I placed my order, being told at the time of my estimate that I would only be charged for the pads that got used for the move. We ended up using 2, but after the move, my Visa was charged for 30 paper pads. When I tried to contact Pack and Load, they kept putting me off and not calling back. After 3 calls and an email, I disputed the charge with my credit card company. I finally received an invoice only to find out that my signature and initials had been FORGED on the work order saying that 30 pads were used. Pack and Load made no effort to help me resolve this, other than saying that when the pod was unloaded, they would count the pads. which isn't going to happen because I am not using them ever again! I cannot recommend Pack & Load services to anyone. The owner, Doug Prescott, would not stand by his services to the extent he does not even admit that he is the owner. I used this company because they were recommended by PODS. After room by room exhaustively reviewing all of my contents of my home with the sales person, Chris Ford, with Chris even looking at the pictures of our house for sale online, Chris suggested two 16 foot pods. The 2 16' pods were insufficient and the movers did not complete the job. When i called to see what arrangements could be made to complete the job, Chris told me he would have a crew there the next day to complete the job. The next day, the crew didn't show. I called several times and was strung along for fully six hours, before Chris admitted he never had a crew assigned because he didn't believe that pods would deliver another container so quickly (except they did) and then he blamed me and pods for underestimating the number of containers needed. When I reminded him that he suggested 2 16' containers he said he could not accurately complete an assessment on line. Why then did we spend 45 minutes going over the content and him even looking up the pictures of my home?!?!?!?!?!? He did finally put me on the schedule to complete my move -- a day after we were supposed to have vacated the house --and it was then I experienced the owner, Doug Prescott. Not only was Doug screaming at me unprofessionally (would not even let me convey my concerns) but he also called me a liar when I told him Chris had suggested the number of pods we needed and had told me a crew was assigned for the previous day as Chris had not asked him to assign a crew. I was not disputing Chris didn't tell him. In fact, that's my complaint. Chris was so certain pods would not fulfill a quick delivery time, that he never bothered to schedule a crew, leaving me in a terrible situation. Additionally, the crew damaged items; the second crew showed up with no packing material so we had to supply boxes, tape and tie down rope; and, in order to clear the house we just had to donate perfectly good items because it was clear that the two man crew just could not finish the job. Our items will be in storage. Although I noted the damage that the crew inflicted on our furniture, I am really concerned about being able to successfully claim and be compensated for the damage based on other reviews. Be forewarned, the crew foreman said it best. . . Pack & Load and Chris Ford only care about the sale... not the service. This is about the twentieth job I've been on where Chris screwed up and probably won't be the last. read more

I have used PODS for two previous moves, however this is the first time that I used pack & load services. Having served 30 years in the military & making many moves, pack & load by far made this move to Henderson, Nevada the worst ever. I do not recommend them to anyone because you will regret it. I did not realize how careless they were when loading the PODS until the unloading and unpacking of my household goods. Irreplaceable items were broken, furniture damaged and dishes destroyed. Boxes marked fragile were placed on the bottom while heavy items were stacked on top of them breaking the contents. If you value your belongings, DO NOT use pack and load services. read more

Worse service and customer support ever. I scheduled services with packing and loading in Everett, WA and unloading in Pasco, WA. The Everett side was over 2 hours late and seemed to be day labor people...as in NOT professional and the FIRST thing the guy did was take my American Flag and laid it ON THE GROUND...I called him out on it and it seemed to set the tone of my services..... I provided boxes, plastic wrap, tape and paper and 36 moving blankets... the wrap and tape were not used and both disappeared along with half of my blankets. I had brand new furniture. When the truck was unloaded we notices some pieces were wrapped with no blankets used, and some had blankets but no wrap. Needless to say almost all of my new furniture was nicked, scratched up, sliced and I kid you not, boxes and one chair smeared with dog poop. I think they must have sat boxes down on the ground where someone's dog pooped and they packed the boxes on top of other boxes and furniture. The truck reeked of poop and my items trashed. I tried to file a claim, I sent it certified mail. I know they received it but never a reply or reaching out to assist. NO return calls, NO return emails. I sent pictures and all of the information and still...nothing. DO NOT USE! read more

The worst customer service I have ever dealt with. My husband and I moved due to his Military station assignment, hired Pack and Load services, his schedule was changed, we had to cancel the services. We called three times, left a voicemail, email, on Saturday - services were for Monday. I then get charged for the "same day delivery" because they "didn't see my voicemail (even though they are open 7 days a week). They never let me talk to their supervisor. Contradict their own statements. They are stealing our money and could care less about us. Worst business. On the contract, there is NOWHERE stating that there is a same day delivery charge - not that we even called the same day to cancel. Every time I call, they have a "new" story to explain why they are cheating us of money. DO NOT HIRE THEM. I wish it was possible to give them 0 stars on Yelp. read more

I caution you not use this company! My elderly mom was moving from California to Arizona. We hired PODS to deliver a POD to her home and PODS had Pack and Load Services on their website so they were hired. A quote was provided and on the loading day 3 men arrived from Pack and Load to pack delicate items and load the POD. After the job was completed, I received an invoice for their services and boxes. They quoted an amount for boxes on their website without even looking at the job, however the number was extreme compared to what was actually used by the men. I called and was told the quote was the invoice and they could not make any changes, even though I had pictures. When the POD was delivered in Arizona, we hired 2 men to unpack the POD and right way found damage. Pictures were taken of the damages and a claim was filed with Pack and Load. Also estimates were sent of the replacement value. When all was said and done, my mom was offered $37.00, yes $37.00 for the damaged furniture. It will cost over $2,500 to replace the items. read more

I really wish I had read the reviews before hiring this company. The office staff was very pleasant and seemed very helpful in the beginning. However when the 2 man crew showed up to pack and load my POD they were very rushed. I paid for the flat rate thinking that meant until my house was packed but no its just meant until the boxes they brought were packed and the POD was loaded. We asked them to please get the furniture in the POD first cause we were pretty sure the unit was too small for our stuff and planned to get a uhaul for the surplus boxes. They took everything from the main ground level and ignored the upstairs and downstairs floors. It was like they were avoiding the stairs even though the stairs were included in the invoice. I have to get a second unit and will be hiring different movers to help with that one read more

I used this company because Pods in Pittsburgh, PA recommended them. As indicated by another reviewer it wasn't until they loaded that we signed a paper saying that they were liable for damages up to $250.00. Upon arrival in CA as the POD was being unloaded the servicemen were appalled to see that none of the furniture was wrapped, and every item that was unloaded was scratched, dented or broken. I had to take pictures and fill out a lengthy form of all the items for my 1700 square foot home and was reimbursed only $250. Pack and Load doesn't even deserve one star. DO NIOT USE! We hired them to load two PODS based on PODS referral. They sent two guys at 4:00 in the afternoon with no dolly or equipment. We were asked to help load the PODS by the two movers or the job would of never got done. Their customer service has been extremely rude when you finally can talk to a person. Upon unloading the PODS, there was a lot of damaged and broken articles. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!! read more

If I could mark ZERO stars I would. Avoid this company!! We had to use this company during a tradegy in our family. We had a death of a family member and needed assistance packing and loading a POD. The movers were late and moved very slowly until a supervisor spoke with them. They then kept charging my account for additional time numerous times without my consent. Even when I spoke to the owner and explained the situation they continued charging my account. WORST experience during a difficult time for our family. read more

I think the combination of the instability of a pods container, shifting of the load, packing and unpacking incorrectly made for a perfect storm.There was so much damage to my furniture it all has to be refinished and repaired. I provided blankets and extra furniture wrap and the packing crew seemed to use them as well as some they brought. But as I unwrapped, there were gouges, scrapes, dents throughout. The crew that unpacked had another job that afternoon and rushed mine. They left things not put together correctly and now my master bedframe is bent after it fell apart, the legs on my kitchen table, gun cabinet and queen bed frame are loose and missing parts, they left stuff encased in wrappings instead of putting furniture back together. I had insurance and filed to no avail. The insurance passed me back to complaining to the packing company past the 30 day limit. So I have thousands of dollars of damages and no recourse. Do NOT use Pods or Pack and Load. Bad combination! read more

First...the movers are a sub-contracted company, not direct employees of P&L Services. They brought a lot of materials, but as the morning started, I noticed the promised "pack then load" wasn't happening, they said due to my elevator, they needed to do it quicker. In the end, they missed many important items, had to shove some into the pod last minute, put tape all over my glass table, I was charged $1700 for the quote and they billed an extra 2 hours. I was charged for all 52 boxes in the quote and I was told, "You will be refunded the boxes" not used. That never happened, they said I used 39 boxes and I had a 16x8 POD and there were only 11 boxes. I had to write to the company and they denied me, I tried to charge back on my credit card and now MC is making me through all these hoops. Fraud! I just wanted my refund of the boxes not used and it's not happening. I wish I could call the police! read more

These people are the worst of the worst! I just used them to load one 16 foot pods container and it cost me $850.00!!!! Stay away from them. They showed up 2 hours late and it went downhill from there.I wished I had checked the reviews before booking them. Do your homework and you will avoid them like the plague. read more

The worst. Major damage to multiple items. Took an hour to unlock each pod because they were so jammed packed. Filed a report. They requested photos. Sent photos. They blamed PODS. PODS blamed them. Pack and Load ignored multiple email requests for status updates. In the end, they will not take responsibility because we didn't use them to unload. Given the condition of out items, there was no way we would allow them to touch our belongings. read more

Had several issues with this company that PODs recommended: 1. the loaders dropped photos, artwork and news clippings of my deceased father-in-law's time in Saudi Arabia and then crinkled them up and threw them in the trash, never saying anything to us; these items are irreplaceable!!!!, 2. I was told to buy 12 straps for 3 PODs. They used 5 and kept the others rather than returning to me so I could get my $100 back for the ones not used by us; in my eyes that is stealing, 3. The loaders took a door off the hinges and left without putting it back on. The buyers were walking through the house and I was trying to fix it without tools - they were packed. We called the company and the loader supervisor called us and PROMISED to come back. He never did, 4. The youngest loader kept hitting the walls in the house with furniture. I kept telling him to be careful but he wasn't. Ended up having to have some walls repaired before the buyers moved in, 5. The unloaders were supposed to put the beds together but refused. They said they didn't have the tools. I offered mine and they still refused. Unfortunately my husband had already tipped them so they just shrugged and left, left a 60 year old women to put together multiple beds and a daybed by herself, and 6. I filled out a survey relaying these problems/concerns and customer service called to ask what they could do to fix it. She said she would talk to her supervisor but at the very least would reimburse me for the straps. THEY DID NOTHING to rectify the problems and we have seem no compensation. They pretend to care but really don't. They aren't cheap to hire and they use contract labor which they have little control over. PLEASE DON'T USE THIS COMPANY. read more
