About two weeks ago, this was a quick stop for gas. That part was fine. I decided I wanted coffee. I do not use artificial anything and so the cream selection did nothing for me. I've always said, since I first tried it -- Waffle House serves the worst coffee I've ever tasted. That is no longer true. No wonder they need flavored cream. I couldn't drink much of this coffee because it was so awful. The best thing I can say for it is it was brewed strong enough. The cup of coffee cost me less than two dollars except for the tax. That also was good. We live in New Orleans so I will not be returning to this place so they won't miss me. read more

I found a screw in the tread of one of tires, so stopped by yesterday to see if they could patch it. They removed the screw, patched it, put air back in my tire, and had me out back on the road in less than five minutes. I would definitely recommend this place. read more

Last week I reached out via their website to see if they could do some work for me and never heard back. This week I called on a Wednesday to see if they could do an alignment on my 1954 Ford and was told they could do it, but said they had a lot of cars ahead of it and that Friday would be best. They wouldn't schedule an appointment. I scheduled a tow appointment for that Friday, and call Packard ahead of the car being dropped off for the alignment to let them know. At this point I am told that their machinery can't do a car this old, so I have to cancel the tow appointment. I feel that my time was unnecessarily wasted by first being told they could do the work and then being told that they could not do the work at the last minute. To be fair, they read the codes on my old Honda CR-V for free, but also quoted me something like $700-$900 to replace a catalytic converter, which I replaced myself for about $175. Shop looks neat, but I will not pursue their services again. read more

Not only was the tire fixed and paid for in under 10 minutes (as a previous reviewer stated), but the staff were extremely helpful and friendly each time. I was very impressed. I could not have had a better experience than the one I had with Chris @ Packard. Had a good vibe over the phone. Had it towed and looked at in 3 hours. Worked on my Jeep all Monday into Tuesday afternoon. Communicating all the times with steps that have taken. Provided locksmith service and ended up being a key issue. My automobile got serviced here, this past week. I got a ton of stuff done, including spark plugs, hoses, brake pads, fuel filter, air filter, etc... etc... I chose them because I wanted a relationship with my mechanic. I want to be able to call and know I can get in, quickly and have the work done efficiently. Pleased with the work, prices were competitive to other service stations. No discounts, no overcharging. Service was efficient. Nothing stands out as remarkable, but they're local, they're independent, they're accessible. That's good enough for me. I would recommend this place for a good service job. I called a couple of days ahead of time to get set up for new tires. The person on the phone couldn't tell me what size tire I needed. I had to google it while on the phone. Seemed weird that they weren't able to look that up, but I didn't think too much of it at the time. I set up a day to come in and was told that it would take 1 - 1.5 hours to complete. When I got there, they basically just took my keys without trying to confirm any of the details discussed over the phone. Seemed weird, but didn't think too much of it at the time. Three hours goes by and I haven't heard from them so I called and was told that they hadn't started yet and that it would be at least a couple more hours. So now we're looking at 5+ hours for a tire change that I called in advance to set up when I was told over the phone it would be 1.5 hours max? I couldn't wait that long because I had to be at work, so I went to pick up my car. While they were apologetic and understanding, their excuse was that they "had some problems with an oil change" on a car before mine. Seemed WEIRD. I chose this place because of all of the positive reviews, but I didn't get the kind of fast and friendly service I was expecting. I'm giving two stars instead of one because at least they were apologetic, but at the end of the day I still don't have new tires and I wasted my day waiting around for them. read more

Respectful towards women too; NOT condescending at all & do NOT give lengthy explanations because do not have to. They are fair and honest! Service cannot be beat- even provided pick up and drop off transport to and from due to extenuating circumstances and short distance- under 8 miles round-trip. After Burt Gentry of Gentry's Auto retired; I put myself through unnecessary misery before I learned: "The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten." -Benjamin Franklin. Packard's does it right the first time and for a fair price. Found Packard's in 2019, during an extremely stressful time when I may have been a bit impatient &, if so, am sincerely sorry. I came here with a humming noise coming from the engine area in my accord not having a clue what it was. One of the workers took it for a test drive and diagnosed it in under 5 minutes. I later dropped the car off on sunday(they were closed) and at 2pm on Monday it was ready. The car sounded great, no more humming noise or loud grinding. Had two lawnmower tires mounted took old tires with me, $32.78, freaking highway robbery. When I questioned the cost... the SMARTASS behind the counter said..."well, you didn't ask what it would cost." We stayed overnight in a Nashville hotel and found a flat tire on our car when we went to leave. We found our way to Packards and Chris quickly found a huge nail in the tire and fixed it quickly so that we could get back on the road to a wedding in Huntsville. Everyone was so kind and helpful. Definitely recommend this place! Of note, all of the other tire service centers we called said they were busy and the earliest they could get us in would be 3-4 hrs later. When my wife and I moved to to Nashville we tried several different places for car maintenance and repair. Once we found the guys at BP we never went anywhere else after they correctly accurately did repairs that other places couldn't figure out. (yes, we'd take cars to other places and get them back without a problem solved, but with Packard's BP they do fix what's wrong.) Also they're not always trying to upsell like so many places. Several times they told us we specifically didn't need something when we asked about it. I appreciate that and I actively avoid places that give off that upsell vibe. Packards BP is different. They're mainly interested in fixing your problem, not seeing how much extra they can try to sell. The best part though, is that they diagnose and repair extremely accurately. They fix what is wrong, and don't fix a bunch of other things. We've been taking our vehicles there for probably 20 yrs - and we both tend to drive higher mileage vehicles so they have their share of maintenance. I appreciate what they do there. read more

When you find good car repair guys, keep them. These guys have done me right every time. Even though the alternator was six weeks past factory warranty, they must have used their clout with their suppliers to get it for free. Only charged me for the routine maintenance, and very reasonably at that. I won't let anybody else touch my car. read more
