They took advantage of an OLD LADY: a 2008 Honda Fit that just needed new weatherproofing around a window, and new A/C. After "diagnosing" the window problem (cost $111 for them to tell us what we already told them up front), and "diagnosing" the A/C issue (cost $279 before doing any repairs), we were told it would be $2K to actually do any work on my car that's clearly not worth that much. (They lied about the diagnosing fees going toward the repairs. Untrue.) We had to bail. So with added processing fees, I paid $400 to have *zero* work done on my car. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. Is "diagnosing" a Tennessee auto repair scam everyone's in on? How do people afford this place. Never going back. Enjoy your $400, Simpson's. Hope you feel as good about scamming me out of it as I do. read more

Excellent service. Took my barely-drivable car in after my normal auto shop told me it'd be about 4-5 days for repairs. Tony at the front desk took extremely good care of me, and after getting all the necessary info, assured me it'd only be a day's work, two at most. Simpsons even arranged a complimentary Uber back to my home. Tony gave me a follow-up call that afternoon and explained the diagnostic in detail, outlining the repair process and subsequent costs, and answering all of my questions. Car is running fine now. Terrible service, lack of communication from the team, they want to charge over $600 just for an alignment, when it costs at most $199. I went in for a steering and suspension problem and the car is still the same. If you can't do the job, be honest and don't charge for something you didn't do. I'm the one demanding that you fix things, and you tell me how much I have to pay, but it's the complete opposite with you. You only want to fix what you want and charge for things you didn't even do. I really don't recommend them; they are scammers. read more

DISHONEST...came in for a warranty repair that they fixed a month prior. I was told the repairs were being done and I could pick up my vehicle the following day. Picked up the vehicle and while driving home I noticed the same problem. Spoke with the shop and they said repairs were not done (citing another issue). Claimed "miscommunication" with the mechanic, I had work repair order saying repairs were done. For you folks that have repair problems with shops, contact the state Motor Vehicle Commission. Used this place several times, each time I was called and upsold on other repairs. I really had high hopes, but claiming "miscommunication" in a small repair shop is not a very good excuse for unethical practices and at a minimum shows dysfunction. Took my vehicle to another repair shop and they replaced the part Simpson should have. read more

They communicated very well, got my approval before doing the repairs, treated me very fairly and got the job done quickly. For my first time dealing with Simpson's, I couldn't be more satisfied! They are in the 100 Oaks area right off of I-65/Harding/Sidco. Shop looks to be clean and pro. They got to my car before other shops could, (might've been luck of the draw?) easy to deal with on the phone, AND then texted me an update of the estimate, what they found, how they repaired it, and an affordable invoice I could pay online. Something tells me they want my business. They're getting it! I have a "mature" Toyota SUV that I'm sure is going to need more attention in the future. I highly recommend this place! read more

VERY HONEST and genuine repair shop! I'd give more than 5 stars if I could. I took my car in due to a leak in my engine coolant and oil problems, and they diagnosed the issue and the price for the work was extremely fair. (I'm all too used to getting ripped off by auto shops, so I checked with a friend of the family who's a mechanic, and he confirmed the prices were good) During the repair a mistake happened, and an additional part of my car needed to be sent out for machining. Simpson's could have easily called me up and said "Hey we found another problem that you'll have to pay for", and I'd be none the wiser. However, they immediately called me and said "This was our fault, and we'll cover it on our end to make things right". I'm an engineer, and understand that occasional mistakes are inevitable. But the honesty and effort for the shop to make things right is really what impressed me. They even provided me with a car to use while mine was in the shop, since my insurance wouldn't cover anything that wasn't "collision" damage. And they fixed up my radiator for no extra charge! I'm sure that between that and the machining, they spent a lot more on this repair than I paid. They really went above and beyond making things right. I'll definitely being going back to them. It's hard finding an honest mechanic these days, but Simpson's really pulled through! read more

This place is literally thee best mechanic I've been to. They will do their absolute best to get you in and out as quick as possible. I have taken my car here for simple oil changes and for both things they do and don't specialize in. When it's something they don't specialize in they will let me know who they recommend and not charge me a dime for taking the time to look at the vehicle. Many times it's a minor fix that I come in with and they do it on the spot. My dad owns a shop in Arizona and Simpsons treats me and everyone else like I would expect my own dad to treat me. They are truly so service oriented and it's so rare to find a place who does great work, knows what they're doing and are kind, fair and efficient too. Whenever I get work done on my car I call my dad and let him know the prices they are asking just to compare to what part prices and labor costs should be and every single time he's told me their prices are way beyond fair. I spoke with Tony, who was very helpful and genuinely appeared concerned about the issue. We made an appointment. My daughter brought the car in. They clearly explained what they would do. They quickly diagnosed and repaired the problem (faulty throttle body assembly). Jim explained everything. They charged a very fair price and provided a warranty on the repairs.
