So we drove to the sticks to try out this bar/restaurant. The building itself is a bit organic. It's old school wood inside. The bar was packed but there were three long tables. We sat at the end of one of those tables wondering what the protocol was . Within two minutes a very friendly (and cute) waitress approached us; and asked us what we wanted to drink. They have several good beers on tap. My wife ordered an Oktoberfest and I ordered a Spotted Cow. In minutes our waitress placed two beers in front of my wife. I was reaching for one when two beers were placed in front of me. Our waitress informed us that it was "double bubble" time. Two beers for the price of one. We perused the menu. Even though there were some great appetizers, we passed and decided to try their perch dinner. They also have bluegills, walleyes, haddock and catfish. The time slipped by as we sipped our beers. Out came our dinners. Wow, a very filled plate of food. The fish was excellent, as were the fries, cole slaw and rye bread. Even though the place was busy our waitress checked on us on regular occasions. Our meals were so good we were literally purring with pleasure. Note to my friends, if you're going to have an appetizer you better be hungry as we barely had enough room to finish our suppers At the end I shook our waitress' hand and told her she did a great job. Tipped her well. Bottom line, this is a great place to get a fish dinner on a Friday night. The food was great, the service was great, the ambiance is biker bar. It was a bit raucous. If you want the Wisconsin experience of the Friday night fish fry, it would behoove you to check this place out. Top three of Friday fish in the Manitowoc area in my humble opinion.

Their other location in Two Rivers does a great job, but I think they are trying some different ideas here and might be working out some kinks with new staff right now. One example is the changing menus. On Saturday Night they do a Steak Night with a limited menu. I have to admit, my wife and I came in to try their pizza and it wasn't on the menu on a Saturday. We decided to stay and eat off their Saturday Menu, but we did see two tables of people come in, look at the menu and leave. Not good! The steak menu was priced (approx) $30-40, and I think it was a bit of a shock when you come in for a burger and fries or pizza! They also change their menus on Tuesday and Wednesday. All seems a bit confusing, but once the regulars are developed it probably won't be as big a problem. Right now, I'd say check their menu on Facebook be for you come in. Tonight we ordered the Smothered Chicken and the Ribeye Sandwich along with an Onion Ring Appetizer. The rings were a little overdone and kind of heavy with oil. Good size, but would only order them again if I knew they wouldn't be overcooked. The Smothered Chicken was on of tonight's "specials", so it wasn't in the written menu. The waitress should have told us it was Cajun Spiced when she shared the specials (my wife doesn't like Cajun). Would have definitely ordered something else. The bun on the Ribeye Sandwich was excellent. The steak was very tender, but maybe too tender. It just seemed that it was missing the normal texture expected in steak. Also, they don't have A1 Steak Sauce (which would have been great with this sandwich) which I thought was weird, especially since it was "steak night"! The only sauce they had was mayo based. They do something I've not seen before with the bill. They add the tax to each individual item before they total the bill. Confusing when trying to figure out the tip. I did find a price error on one of my items, which they corrected when I pointed it out. (Onion Rings were listed at $7 , but he computer picked them at $8.33). Probably a programming error or a menu misprint, either way, they fixed it!

The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars was due to the gentleman in the kitchen with no hairnet and beard net, who had a large beard. With the new owners of this place, I was surprised actually that he noise level went down, it was always loud here but this time that we visited it was a lot more enjoyable since we could hear each other talk . You could tell they were not made in-house, especially the gnocchi (gummy, chewy texture is a dead giveaway. True homemade gnocchi will melt in your mouth). Portion sizes were also on the smaller side yet prices were expensive. $18 for frozen/packaged ravioli in a maybe homemade sauce (didn't taste like it)? Yeah right. Every chef knows that pasta is an easy dish to make good money on because pasta is cheap and easy to make, $18 for pasta with no protein additions is absurd. From what I have heard they have even failed a health inspection. There isn't even a toilet paper dispenser in the men's room. The salad greens are routinely wilted and inedible. The servers are like 12 years old and have no idea what they are doing, and why should they care? They are making probably $20 on a good night. I would ABSOLUTELY NOT recommend you bring your family here... Unless you want your children to hear incessant cussing by drunk people at 5 pm. I predict this place will run itself out of business in the next 6 months.
