Heard the food was good so we made the drive. Walked in and no one was at the bar. We asked if we they served food at the bar and they said no. Restaurant was about half full and we asked for a table and was told not without a reservation by a large woman in an impolite manner. Not impressed with the place. Food is good if you can get in..,, visited before and did wait but we had kids in the party this time, and it's not worth the wait. The bar is not a welcoming spot for kids to wait (it's not welcoming either because it's so bright - not cozy at all). Wow, what an amazing experience! We were staying in Sheboygan for the night on our way up to Door. We love the whole supperclub experience and always try to find new ones. You know it's got to be good when they have a system for reservations. Reservations for the week open on Wednesdays and I called and was able to get in on the Thursday night we were staying. I knew they had a bar so we got there a little early, Its very much in a neighborhood, in the woods. Very cool looking and just looks like a picture of authenticity. It's divided into 2 rooms, you enter in the bar and the restaurant is next door. The bartenders were very friendly and nice, we had a few old fashions as one should do at a supperclub bar. $4 drinks...crazy, all in all for what we got the place is an amazing bargain. We saw an appetizer that was kinda different called Chippers - homemade chips with parm and truffle oil..... amazing, better than we expected. We both got Walleye, which was really good. They have great warm rolls, I got mine with a loaded baked potato and coleslaw and my wife got the caesar salad and coleslaw. We also had wonderful Strawberry Rhubarb crisp for dessert. The food was amazing, the atmosphere was great, and the service was great. We even at one point saw a bunch of deer in the back through their big picture windows. It was a Friday during lent so we sought out a Fish Fry while staying in the area 2 months ago. Yelp reviews directed us here and glad they did!! We posted up at the bar and had a few Wisconsin Old Fashioned's and after a 20 minute wait, our table was ready. I will say everyone was friendly and while it's filled with locals, alcohol brings everyone together! The perch fish fry was amazing as was the server and it was a nice portion served which was 2 large pieces and fries. I'm not sure we'll be back in this neck of the woods anytime soon but I would come back here for sure! Some parking available but a tip here. For an after dinner drink at the bar, get a Dirty Girl Scout. It's the perfect after dinner drink. read more

Definitely the place locals visit. We had a party of 10 adults and 5 children. We called in advance and the table was ready, no wait despite the restaurant was nearly full at 5:30.. I had their 4 piece broasted chicken and the meat was very moist with a very tasty light coating. My wife had walleye and it was also moist and fried just right. We stopped in on a Sunday evening and told it was a 40 minute wait for a table. We sat at the bar and had a drink and 20 minutes later our table was ready. We were greeted by our server, Katie who was friendly and attentive. I ordered the special which was 2 pieces of broasted chicken, beef tips and gravy over mashed potatoes and soup or salad. I opted for the seafood chowder which was so delicious. My wife ordered the Black River entree salad which was huge and packed with strawberries, orange, almonds, and red onions over greens. It was excellent and priced at only $13.50. This is a small restaurant with moderate noise level. All the employees were very friendly. We live 60 miles away but will return. read more

What a surprising find! made a detour her after reading the reviews and will likely become one of our frequent stops. We had the broasted chicken meal which came out hot and crispy. The meat was tender and juicy. Even the white meat was delicious. We sampled both of the made from scratch soups. both of which were quickly devoured by the kids. The kids meals (mini tacos, chicken tenders, and fish) were fresh with lots of flavor. All came with crispy and perfectly salty fries. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating with my daughters diet. We were sat very quickly despite being pretty busy and our food was served equally fast. We stopped in from out of town on a Friday evening and were surprised reservations were encouraged given the smaller, local, hidden feel this place has. By the end of our experience here, we understood why. I got the fried fish sandwich with a side of sweet potato fries. It's not often I'm so impressed by sweet potato fries. They're perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Nicely seasoned. The fish was crisp and high-quality as well. Flavorful tartar sauce and buns toasted to perfection. I hate writing bad reviews but our experience was not good. We went here based upon reviews and I don't know if it was just an off night or what but we were pretty disappointed. My husband ordered the haddock fish fry and the pieces were super thin and overcooked. I had the bluegill and it was good but not great. We both had fries and they were the ones that had some coating on them, not homemade, which I am not a fan of, though they were cooked well. The coleslaw was inedible and the color was off. Seemed really old and flavor was not good. Tartar sauce was fine though salad dressing based versus mayo which we prefer. Rolls were good. He had a beer and I had an old-fashioned which was not good. While on our way to visit my grandparents, we stopped in Oostburg with plans to have an early dinner at our usual place we had found years earlier when they were in their previous location. But alas, by the time we made it from the airport, they had closed 15 minutes earlier. We searched Yelp for some place nearby to eat, and saw this place in Yelp's list. With a good rating in what we considered to be the middle of nowhere, we set off to our new destination; but really, let's face it, a restaurant in the middle of nowhere with mostly good ratings is bound to be good eats. When we walked in the front door, we stepped into the bar, and thinking the Yelp listing was way off. Turned out the restaurant was in the back. It had a cozy feel, kind of like being in a larger version of a home dining room. We were one of the first diners to arrive that day, which worked out great. Apparently it is common for this out-of-the-way gem to have an hour wait or longer for the restaurant side. For as quickly as it became busy, the service was still great and the food was excellent. There was more perch than I could eat so I took mine home. When I went for my perch later that evening, imagine my surprise to find my container had made its way to the trash can with no trace of my perch anywhere. I can only surmise that my remaining perch was delicious by the lack of any evidence that it had ever been in the container. If you have the chance, definitely make a trip here for some good food. read more

I stopped in last night, and while I've always been a fan of the food, I question their safety protocols. I came in wearing a mask, and was disappointed to see that not one person sitting at the bar had a mask on. The only person I saw wearing a mask was the bartender, and she had it pulled down under her nose, to the point that her lips were visible. I wore my mask the entire time I waited for my order, and was rudely stared at by the other patrons. When I left, someone actually baaa'd at me. I laughed, as I'm not sure why my wearing a mask was bothering these people so much. I'll not be back as safety doesn't seem to be a priority. read more

When we walked in we were a little worried because you walk into a bar. In the back is the restaurant, the prices and food were amazing. The widow looks out into a wooded area where we got to watch 5 deer. We stopped at the restaurant after I found it on Yelp, because we had just flew in from out of state. Asked for medium rare, the steak was barely cooked and my boyfriend wasn't even able to swallow and swallow it. It was all cartilage. This was an $85.00 wasted on an incorrect and inedible meal.
