If you have read any of my past reviews, you have probably gathered that I am a very nostalgic person. Whether it's a smell, flavor, or color, my mind often drifts off to how certain things remind me of the past. One of those things being retro sneakers. From the mid 90's to the early 2000's, I spent my youth watching NBA games (remember the NBA on NBC tripleheaders on Sunday's?). Not only were the games exciting, but I was also intrigued by the shoes that the players wore. When Reebok announced that it was re-releasing Allen Iverson's (one of my all-time favorite players) signature "Question" shoe, I was ecstatic. When the shoe was originally released in 1996, I was 12 and my parent's were not willing to spend $100+ on a pair of shoes. Fast forward 26 years later, and thankfully I can afford to treat myself to a pair. Unfortunately, Reebok's website was sold out of my size. I was very close to purchasing a pair on StockX when I decided to do a quick Google search. My search led me to the website for a store on the East Coast called Packer Shoes. Fortunately, Packer shoes still had my size available. Not only was I able to score a pair for myself, but I was also able to purchase a pair for my wife! Initially, I was a bit skeptical about the store because their Yelp reviews had complaints pertaining to the shipment of wrong sizes and orders randomly being cancelled. However, my order arrived seven days from the day of purchase...correct sizes and all! Thank you Packer Shoes, I will definitely keep your site bookmarked for any major shoe release! read more

Used a Visa gift card on a purchase. After order was confirmed I threw the card out. Almost a week later they cancelled the order for no reason and told me they were refunding me back to payment method. When I told them what was happening they said nothing they can do now I'm out over $200+ with no recourse! read more

You can not return an item for a refund. You can only return for store credit or exchange for a different size. I requested a return, it took 3 business days for the return to be approved. Then you have to send back the original (shipping paid by you), wait for them to receive it, review it, and approve it. Then they will finally issue a store credit or send the new size. So if the first size doesn't work, consider the fact it will take 2 weeks to receive the new pair. I should have just ordered from Adidas but was trying to shop a smaller store. I could have had my refund and new shoes by now if I had ordered straight from Adidas. read more

They are a complete rip-off. They take your money and ONLY issue a store credit if the product doesn't fit. I WARN all potential shoppers to source the product elsewhere. There's no disclaimer on the return policy until you have an issue and want a refund. COMPLETE RIP OFF. I am now stuck with sneakers that don't fit and they don't have anything else I would want. My son wanted a pair of shoes from Packer, I ordered from them on December 4th and waited for days and no information was given on when my order was going to be shipped. December 11th, i reached by phone called numerous times and no call back , sent them an email, they responded back today and told me I quote "Hi, We use a third party credit card screening company to review all credit card purchases. Any order red flagged is cancelled to protect us from fraud. Your order was given a risk score of 99 out of 100, 1 being excellent and 99 being horrible. Any future purchases will need to go through PayPal." I couldn't believe how they responded back to me. I've never went through nothing like this with all orders I've placed with other companies. This place has gone WAY downhill and the customer service is trash. I had shopped on their website for years and bought many items. This last "interaction" with them was my last, however. They sent me a 40% coupon for their anniversary as a customer loyalty promo, only sent to select customers. I placed an order through the site using the promo (which didn't apply to many things but obviously did to the five items I chose) and they cancelled/refunded without explanation. When I wrote to them, no answer. They NEVER answer the phone. Forget it. I will take my business elsewhere as their stock has been declining in quality for years anyway. read more

The reviews for this location are unfortunately pretty accurate. The staff there are really quite rude and dismissive. They always have some kind of attitude and a miserable look on their face, when they check you out it's as if you just asked them to count up 100,000 pennies. I've also been to Jersey City location and really liked it there. Had a great conversation with one of the staff there and everyone was very friendly. The problem is literally the staff at the Teaneck location and that's all. This store comes out with some nice collaboration sneakers and designs but the attitude of the employees is the sole thing that sometimes deters me from giving them business. read more

Not worth the hassle and headache. They listed a shoe on their blog as being available "in store and online". I drive pass them every day to get to work so figured I'd stop in during my lunch break. The shoe hasn't arrived in store yet. Say what? The owner was on his way to the store with the shoes. Now it's sold out! Then I decided to check if they were getting the Saucony Shadow 6000 "Only In Soho" since calling their store does little to no good. Only like 10 pairs but they still don't know for sure yet. The employee I spoke with seemed a little to giddy in pointing out that the possibility of me getting the shoe was slim to none. Why? This just floored me. "We're getting like 10 pairs but that doesn't account for the employees getting first dibs". I waited for the punchline. I wanted it to be a bad joke but when I didn't see laughter, just a smirk I asked if it went down like that and he quickly said yes. He thought it was funny and made another joke about people sleeping outside for the shoe. Sorry bruh. Temps already in the 20's and 30's. Even if it were 80 no way I'd sleep outside to give these guys business. Even though I work right down the road from them(less than 6 miles)shipping to my office is $20 USD. If you had asked me 5 or more years ago I'd have probably gave 5 stars easily, I was dropping whole pay checks in packer shoes, let me explain why I am not now. I have been shopping and still do occasionally at packer since they practically opened up before this giant sneaker hype started, before the lines and craziness, before it was cool to be a sneaker collector. First off packer used to carry a ton more nike and from what I understand with nike there is different tiers as far as retail and I guess financially mike packer, who is a great guy, probably does better with other brands such as asics, Adidas and reebok and I wouldn't never knock any stars off for that. We frequented so much that we used to get deals on stuff or be able to get a shoe at release. The staff has also changed a few times over the years, I guess I don't go there 4 times a week like I was doing a few years ago but the workers almost act like it's a chore to help you sometimes or disappear into the stock for a while leaving you in an empty store, I guess they're too busy to provide customer service or too cool shoot the breeze about sneakers. You still occasionally get a great deal or a rare pair here when you least expect it. read more

Honestly the worst sneaker-buying experience I've ever had. I ordered a pair of limited release New Balances. It took them several days to process and finally ship my order. I finally received the box only to find the wrong pair of shoes inside! These were a cheaper pair, with a different name, colorway, and UPC code. Shocked, I called customer service over and over again to try to get a response. Don't worry, there is no voicemail and they never answer the phone. I finally received an email two days later apologizing and saying that they would replace these limited release sneakers with the correct ones. I return the shoes and wait for the correct pair of sneakers only to be issued a refund with no explanation. After emailing them several times and calling them over and over I finally got a hold of their "customer service" team. They told me that they never had my sneaker in stock. They 1) lied about their inventory online, 2) processed my order and charged me despite not having my shoes, 3) knowlingly sent me the wrong pair of shoes, 4) did not correct their mistake until I hounded them about a replacement, 5) lied to me about replacing them with the correct pair of limited run sneakers, 6) processed a refund without telling me the sneakers I ordered (and that are now selling for 2x as much on ebay) would not be replaced, and then 7) gave me attitude when I was angry after finding out that they never had the sneakers and had lied to me throughout the entire process. I've contacted New Balance directly to tell them about the damage this boutique is doing to their brand. I'm not sure how this shop remains in business but take your money anywhere else. They are dishonest, rude, and will avoid you and their mistakes at all costs. read more

I have been shopping with them since 2006 before the whole resale market started when ppl bought what they like. I love this store and love the brand I just wish they were only as loyal to their customers as we are to them. I say that because they are NOTORIOUS for back-dooring. I have seen it with my own eyes so all those times you enter raffles you have no chance of winning they probably select like 5 ppl and the rest go to local resale stores in the area. I had been looking for a specific pair of vans for a while and found them on this site. They delivered them pretty quickly which was nice but they ended up sending the wrong pair by mistake. I emailed them about it and they were incredibly unhelpful. They told me they would "check if they had the pair I ordered" which was a bit absurd considering I had already paid for them. It took several days for them to let me know that they even had the pair I paid for, and then they refused to ship them out until I sent back the wrong pair. Seems a bit odd to keep my order from me until I fixed the mistake they made. I was forced to reorder the pair but by this date, they were already on Black Friday sale and when I finally tried them on, they didn't fit. The sale made it impossible for me to return the shoes as well. I haven't left a review for anything in my life before but this experience was so hilariously unprofessional that I figured I had to. read more

DONT DO IT! Now that I've given the fair warning, I'll say that I haven't had any in-person experience with the shop, but I'm a big sneaker collector (about 4-6 pairs a month) and I have never had such a negative experience with a purchase through a website, and I had multiple interactions with both the "brick" store and the online store, all less than optimal. Lets set the scene... 1. I spend about an hour searching for a pair of Asics that I cant find online for a decent price until I get super excited and find them on packersshoes.com. 2. I notice that Packers only has one of each size of the shoe (a little suspect but I'll go with it...) 3. I go through the check out process and enter my billing address, and the shipping address. I needed the shoes shipped to my Dad's house since I would be visiting there for the following two weeks. 4. Packers charges my card, and the website comes back with an error. I get no confirmation of an order received, just a charge on my card. I try to call, but Packers is closed on Sundays and their phone number listed on the Twitter account and on their website goes to a fax machine. 5. Nothing, all day Monday. I call Monday afternoon multiple times and leave multiple messages, finally someone picks up and tells me I"m calling the wrong number and gives me the online store number. 6. I call the online number and the gentlemen on the phone tells me they did receive my order and would ship tomorrow, confirming my billing address and shipping address. He follows up by sending me an email. ((Side note, I'm not being unreasonable, if you have an issue with your website OK, I'm not freaking. But it IS suspicious that they charged my card and made no efforts to see where the money was coming from, I find it hard to believe that if I hadn't blown up their phone, I wouldn't have just been out my money)) 7. I receive the confirmation email which has the wrong shipping address. I call back and speak to a not-so-gentlemen like Packers employee and before he even knows my issue he tells me the shoes have already shipped. I explain to him that this isn't possible since I was on the phone less than an hour ago with another employee. He says he can't do anything for me because the shipping department has closed but he will have someone contact me in the morning to see if it is possible to get the address changed. 8. The next morning I receive an email saying my order was cancelled. So, lots of aggravation and no product to show for it. Lots of sketchy stuff here. Taking money with no efforts to see where it came from, a faulty website, a store phone number that doesnt work, ONE brick and mortar store that has a separate online department which is separate from the shipping department that can't talk to one another, and some folks telling you different stories on the phone? I dont know what Packers is up to, but in this day and age it shouldn't be that difficult to make a simple online order and with the millions of places to buy shoes these days, avoid this one. read more

The staff is not helpful and always seem angry. It's almost as if you're bothering them when you ask them for a size to try on... and god forbid you tell them that you're not going to buy that pair. I believe this store survives on online sales. I couldn't imagine anyone wanting to support this business after visiting the shop. Oh and let's talk about the so called raffles they hold for the limited releases. They write down your name and on number in a notebook and then text their friends to come pick up the pairs. At least spend the $10 at staples for a roll of tickets so your raffles seem somewhat legit. Also check out their instagram posts about the raffles. No one ever posts about winning and by now most people have caught on. This used to be my favorite store when it first opened and the owner, Mike Packer, would usually be present. I'm a local North Jersey guy. They release a pair of shoes left over from all star weekend Pop up shop. Charge me tax and shipping (nj shouldn't get taxed) .. 3 1/2 weeks later still no shoes. No tracking..No one is responding to my emails. No one ever answers the phone.. Left multiple messages. This place is trash when it comes to doing business. It's surprising they are as big as they are with they way they treat customers.. I have no choice but to call my credit card to dispute the charge. I gave them more than enough time. Phenomenally AWFUL service. I was in Grand Central when Packers set up shop there. The guys there showed me some awesome shoes, but alas, did not have my size. So, I went online and found out the store is located in the same town that I live in. GREAT, I thought. -FALSE. I called the number to see if I could come to the store, it went to a fax machine or something. Finnally, after days of trying the store, someone answers. I ask if I can come in and try the shoes, "No, we don't keep shoes here." -Which is a total fucking lie, and they obviously DO, but I didn't know this. So I order the shoes online. -$15 shipping charge, EVEN THOUGH I LIVE in the SAME TOWN. I wanted to pick them up, but the website DOESN'T OFFER THIS AS AN OPTION. I tried to ship them to my girlfriend's house, but THE WEBSITE DOESN'T OFFER THIS AS AN OPTION. FINAL SALE because they're special edition or whatever. -Fine. I figured out my shoe size at Grand Central. I emailed them to ask why I can't pick up in the store, the guy says I can. I email back, "Hey, I placed my order, that's all that's happened, I see nothing to say it's shipped, but it's already been placed." Guy emails back, "come in, we'll return the shipping fee," since all the stuff I just wrote is true and he knows it, I email him: "Well, my shoes just came in, I'll be in later." "No, we can't return the fee because you already had them shipped." EVEN THOUGH THERE'S NO OTHER OPTION ON THE WEBSITE, I CAN'T RETURN THE SHOES UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, AND HIS STAFF SAID NO SHOES IN THE STORE. LITERALLY THE WORST shopping experience I'll ever have!
