Just got the cashew noodles with chicken and wow is it good! I got spice level 2 and has a good kick but want to go for level 3 next time. The combo of egg noodles, onions, cashews, chicken with that chili sauce makes for a great dish! This is quickly becoming one of our "go to" South County restaurants. We have been here 10-12 times with friends, family and just the two of us. It's a nice clean place and we have never waited very long, if at all. We have tried several things and overall the food is fantastic. Their Pad Thai is our absolute favorite. The prices are average for this type of restaurant, nothing seems unreasonable. The service is always pretty good. Only two things kept me from giving 5 stars. 1. The two times we have ordered carry out have not been as good as eating in the restaurant. The General Tsos chicken didn't seem fresh and they didn't get the order right either time. 2. They often have their "waitress prep area" where the roll silverware etc., at a table in the middle of the restaurant. As an ex-restaurant manager I would suggest finding another spot. If you absolutely must do it in the main dining room it should be at the most remote table as far away from customers as possible...no matter how slow you happen to be. Customers don't want to watch and hear you doing your prep work a table or two away from them. read more

I do miss my Quiznos that used to be at this location but when it closed down several months ago I couldn't be happier to see a new Thai restaurant in its place! South county definitely needs more ethnic restaurants and Thai has become mainstream enough to be acceptable even in South County. This restaurant has only been open for 1 week so it is brand spanking new! It is a small restaurant with maybe 10-15 tables and 5 seats at the counter. But despite the small space the menu is humongous. I had only popped in for lunch so was unable to try a variety of dishes. I did order a simple noodle dish, "drunken noodles" for convenience. Historically drunken noodles were the dish of choice after a night out drinking of course. It is a classic dish that you would order off of a street car in Bangkok. I was very pleasantly impressed by the quality. The noodles were soft and not dry. The flavoring was excellent. They offer levels of spiciness from 1-5 so you get to pick! Perusing the menu the prices seem very reasonable with the most expensive dishes about $9. I can't wait to come back and try something else. If you're in the area come out and try this new restaurant. I hope it becomes a mainstay across the street from St. Anthony's Hospital. read more

Normally love this restaurant but tonight was an annoying experience. I called to make an order and they said it would be 45 min. I showed up an hour later understanding that they were probably busy. I call to let them know I'm there and they said it would be another 15 min. Still calm I asked if they could speed that up. Called 12 min later and they said it would be another 20 min but 2 of my items were ready and there were 3 orders ahead of me. Surprisingly good Thai food in south county. I was looking for a restaurant somewhere near where we needed to pick up the car from the shop and chose this place, largely because Picha had good things to say about the wife's favorite dish: drunken noodles. When one of our Thai friends likes a Thai place it automatically goes to the top of the list. We started with their curry puff appetizer. This more closely resembled a dim sum dish from Chicago than any other interpretation we've had elsewhere. The pastry was light and flaky with a great buttery flavor. The filling was nicely seasoned with the right amount of curry such that it was present but not overpowering. What a treat! Next up were the entrees. I had pad thai because the place is named pad thai and I like to think I am smart enough to recognize that if you're naming your restaurant after one dish you serve that it will be a great interpretation. I was right! Nicely prepared dish and not at all oily as found numerous other places. The sauce was slightly sweet and very umami. Add in some crisp vegetables and the dish was exactly what I like in pad thai. They offer several choices as far as the protein. I selected the mixed seafood because it contained shrimp, squid and mussels. What I got was excellent! The mussels had that slightly briny taste that reminds you they came from the sea and were still happily hanging out in their shell before being cooked. The squid was properly scored and cooked just right such that it wasn't the least bit rubbery. The shrimp were also perfectly cooked and not the least bit rubbery either - that made two of the easiest to overcook proteins that they got exactly right. As a side note, when the peeled and deveined them they went all the way to their fins instead of leaving that last section of shell. Nice touch! No idea about dessert - we were stuffed and very happy! read more

What a wonderful surprise this place was! I've driven by many times but the unoriginal name of the place made me convinced that it would just be the usual dumbed-down-for-Americans Thai food. I'm so glad my husband suggested it one evening recently! The place is teeny, but cozy, and surprisingly not terribly noisy for as small as it is. The atmosphere is warm and inviting with nice modern (not cheesy) decor. Our service has always been efficient and friendly, even when the place is bustling. But the FOOD. We've eaten Thai food all over the country. This was rated by my husband as the second-best he's ever had. My usual favorites are done spectacularly (Tom Kha soup, Pad Thai) and my husband has finally found his local "Holy Grail" Pineapple Fried Rice. I can vouch that the Pad See Yew is delicious as well. I am looking forward to trying many more dishes over time! The only complaint I could possibly lodge would be the lack of space for patrons waiting for seating. There are 3 or 4 stools at a tiny bar, but people are often there eating or picking up carry-out orders. This leaves those waiting to be seated literally standing among the diners. In warmer weather I'd imagine most would wait outside, but that's not really an option in the winter! Still, this doesn't affect my 5 Star rating. I sure hope this place thrives, as it unfortunately doesn't have much going for it in the way of curb appeal! read more

"Small but Mighty" jumps to mind when describing Pad Thai. The dining room is about the size of a, well, family dining room. The tables are close together, but not so close that you feel as though you're going to get intimately acquainted with the other diners - think "cozy". The decor is clean and sleek, like a modern Asian hotel lounge. Its a place that makes you feel comfortable, but with a side of hipness, as if you're in on a cool secret. The real draw of any restaurant is the food, and Pad Thai has that covered. Its easy to fall in to the trap of sticking with the tried and true (and the Pad Thai is fantastic), but don't do that to yourself here. Try. Everything. You can adjust the spiciness of each dish, so even if you do always get the same thing (seriously, DONT!), you can change the taste each time. I find myself actually salivating just thinking about the Panang curry level 4 as I type this. Pardon me. Each dish my husband and I have tried has been fresh, visually appealing, and delicious. Don't be put off because this is a Thai place in a south country strip mall. Do yourself a favor and give it a try. You'll find yourself coming back again and again, and telling your friends about the little gem you discovered. This cool secret is one worth spilling. read more

My favorite is definitely the Red (or Green or Panang) Curry with chicken, but their Pad Thai and Pad Woonsen are also amazing. Salads - their Beef salad and Larb Gai (chicken) salad is also very filling - a ton of meat, vegetables and flavor for such a steal of a price. As a vegan married to a carnivore it is often difficult to find restaurants where we can be equally satisfied but we found one. I ordered the signature Pad Thai (level 3 spicy) with no eggs extra veggies and a side of spinach sautéed in oil. The Pad Thai was the best I ever had because of the spicy seasoning. I've heard hype about this place from multiple people and finally stopped by for take out... Underwhelmed is all I can say unfortunately. I'm hoping maybe it was just an off night in the kitchen, but everything was a little one dimensional and sweet, weirdly sweet. We ordered the panang curry with beef, chicken pad Thai, and chicken lettuce wraps. The lettuce wraps were really yummy, and I would order them again enthusiastically. However the curry and noodles dish were just okay. We both got spice level 2 and the heat was indistinguishable, which is neither good nor bad, but worth noting just for reference. Overall, we may return but try different menu items. I had to update my review based on how awful we both felt the following day. While we definitely didn't contract food poisoning, there was some rather serious digestive discomfort. read more

We have been on the hunt for the best Thai restraunt around. In the St Louis area there are many choices but often they are not truly Thai but a fusion. Hands down Pad Thai is the current front runner! The spring rolls and peanut hoisen sauce was spectacular. The hot and sour soup was incredible.
