This is a great fast, casual spot for sushi and ramen! I am not a true sushi person as I like veggie sushi with soy paper and no fish. Zushi Sushi has many veggie sushi choices and the option of soy paper. My favorites are the asparagus, avocado and veggie rolls. The portion sizes are perfect and very filling! Tonight was our 4th or 5th visit and Zushi Sushi remains consistently delicious. We started with edamame (nice and crisp, not mushy) and seaweed salad (REALLY good - light sesame oil dressing). When you walk in, it's intimate lighting and the decor gives off a slight natural vibe. I was seated right away. Water was brought out and I was quickly asked for my drink order and eventual food order. I didn't take too long on my decision for a drink which was the Konnichiwa. According to its description, it's a super popular cocktail originating from Japan made with coconut rum, midori, pineapple juice and orange juices. It was green and boozy delicious. I met a couple of friends on a Monday night and we had a fantastic time sampling the menu. We ordered the shrimp dumplings, edamame and veggie roll to start. Then we each picked out a roll to share. Finished with a green tea tiramisu. Everything was so fresh and delicious. This place is a step up from most sushi places I have been too. The rolls with tempera were just lightly breaded which allowed the other flavors to stand out. I want to come back soon and try the ramen and noodle dishes! Our server was so sweet and accommodating. The store front looks small since it's in a plaza but the interior actually is really spacious and well decorated! Also the bathrooms are super pretty and clean. Food wise though I thought it was average. I got the tonkatsu which was only ok. The breading was soggy because of the egg coating and it wasn't very well seasoned. I realize though I probably just don't like tonkatsu (I've had it elsewhere since and also was not a favorite). I might come back and try the ramen (since those seem to be the more popular options!) We had a reservation and were here for dinner tonight. Interior was clean and nicely decorated. Service was ok, but we had one dish that came out in 2 parts, with the noodles and broth taking so long that everyone else was done with their food before it arrived. Had to ask about refills of iced tea, but water was refilled on its own? Food was ok, not great and seemed lacking seasoning. We had different dishes, I tried the garlic fried rice and didn't really get much garlic flavor. I must have a high tolerance! Sushi rolls were small, and weren't a stand out. Went on a date here this past weekend and had the best time. The service is quick, very friendly and accommodating. The seating is a bit cozy so we sat at the bar. We had the lychee sake, shumai, gyoza, yaki udon with tofu, 3 rolls, and the green tea cheesecake. I dont eat pork and having shumai and gyoza that didnt have that already had me so excited. It was shrimp shumai and chicken gyoza. We inhaled both and they were so good! Next came the rolls and udon. The udon was perfectly chewy and the fried tofu paired in it well. The rolls we got were; caterpillar, eel and cucumber, shrimp and asparagus. There could have been a bit more eel in the roll, but everything was still very tasty. The cheesecake was delicious but would have liked more of the tea flavor there. Texture was perfect though! The sake was sweet and refreshing! Absolutely worth the little upcharge for the lychee option. I'll be back here for sure! read more

The ambiance is fine. I enjoyed the music. It's pretty cold in there but it's fine it's super hot outside. The service was kind of overwhelming. Multiple servers would come to you back to back before you get a chance to read the menu. Which I appreciate the tentativeness however there is a such thing as too much. My final thing is the food. I wanted so badly to like this place. My gyoza tasted freezer burnt and reheated. My hakata ramen also had a refrigerator taste to it which is so weird. I love Ramen and it can be quite forgiving but not in the case here it was repulsive. I enjoyed my sushi roll, I had a Shrimp Tempura and it was fine. Unfortunately I asked the server to remove the gyoza from my bill before ordering the ramen and she said sure but after I got my bill she informed me that she couldn't remove anything from the check. No refunds and no exchanges. Which is fine but I wish she would've told me that before taking the food away. If I'm gonna pay for it anyway I'll happily give it to the homeless instead of having you toss it and take my money. Won't be returning. But my servers though frequent check-ins were all very nice professional and I appreciate the server despite the poor quality food and poor communication in regards to my check. read more

We ordered 4 rolls - killer salmon, samurai, caterpillar and eel avocado. Sushi rolls were decent imo. Hakata ramen was pretty good. Broth was flavorful and not too salty. It didn't come with ajitama, but pork belly was given generously. The fried tofu was so good that I ended up ordering 2 plates. Thai milk tea was alright. Kinda sweet and lacking of the creaminess. I've been by this spot twice now. Both times service was excellent and I enjoyed both meals. The first was a miso spicy vegetable ramen that was both beautiful and delicious. The second was a salad and a couple sushi rolls. One was The Hulk and the other was a veggie roll. Both were made with brown rice. And both were very good. Visited Zushi a couple weeks ago on a Friday night about 8:00. Located in a strip mall it is deceiving from the outside. Once inside you find a long shot-gun stule space. There are four small tables up front, then a long sushi bar on the right, and on the left a long booth style bench seat running the length of the space with tables and chairs opposite the bench. It was busy but not crazy. We sat at a table in the front. Service was a little confused. We were greeted by three friendly servers, each asking to take our drink order. Clearly confused over who had our table butwe asked for water and ordered a soft drink, and a house warm sake. Both arrived after a few minutes. The hiuse sake was good for house brand. We were approached by a server who toom our order, then again by another serverwho wanted to take our order, whoich had already been taken. My date ordered miso soup and four Niguri, and I ordered Seaweed salad and three rolls for us to share . . . Futo Maki, Eel-cucumber roll, and a St. Louis roll. They brought our starters fairly quickly. Both Miso soup and Seaweed salad were quite good. A short time later they brought our sushi. Everything was fresh and tasty. We will definitely go back again. The menu is diverse and we enjoyed our experience. Only two minor negatives . . . (1) confusion with service of who our server was , (2) they don't offer small dishes for mixing soy sauce with your Wasabi, there is a small indentation on the platplate for mixing. It's too shallow and small for purpose. Try this place if you are near Watson & Laclede Station Rd. Good food, service, and price. read more

This has been my new favorite sushi spot. The food is so fresh and will definitely satisfy your sushi cravings. I typically go for the more simple rolls: the Philly, salmon, California, and yellowtail. These are just my go to rolls as they are just top tier to me. Typically, I dip them in their homemade spicy mayo and eel sauce (I am a sauce queen!) Recently, I wanted to try their signature rolls - the Ninja & Godzilla. They were also a hit!! The vegetable yaki soba is a must try and as well as the spicy miso ramen. I haven't actually sat down in the restaurant and always resort to getting takeout but I am curious to get the full service experience and take on the ambiance of the restaurant. So the first thing that I thought pulling up was how small the space was and let me tell you, it is cozy inside. For the most part, cozy would be a good thing but not here. The tables are very close together so you get to really know your neighbors. Let's get to the good part. We go out to eat for the food, not necessarily the ambiance, although it helps to enhance the overall dining experience. The Sexy Fries seemed like a good choice. A little odd for a sushi/ramen restaurant, but I'm not one to pass up some skinny fries. They were fries; nothing too spectacular about them. I kind of wish that the sauce was drizzled on them instead of on the side but not a deal breaker. The spicy tuna roll was decent but could definitely have been more spicy. The reason for the visit was to try the poke. The tuna poke was spot on. All of the flavors blended well for deliciousness in every bite!! My husband's beef ramen looked amazing and he said it was good but that he should have gone with the pork belly. He dug in so fast that I wasn't able to get a picture. I really wanted to give 4 but the service was not very good. The food came out quick but we were not checked on and when it came time to pay, we were given the wrong tab. A missed opportunity to either turn the table quicker or sell another beer or cocktail. read more

Worst attitude from hostess/server in an empty restaurant. Tried to order to-go while sitting next to host desk. She required a phone number. I said you dont need my number for to-go order as i am just sitting here and waiting for the order. She cut me off talking 3 times with an attitude. She literally threw the food on the counter while i was saying thank you. Some people have no business to be in hospitality. I guess she was upset that she had to hang up the phone on her friend to take care of a customer. Been here at least 15 times. This was the worst. read more

I'm glad I checked Yelp when my first choice restaurant was too packed, and found this place by chance. Lovely and clean inside, nicest looking restroom I've seen outside of a high end hotel. The food was good, the service was impeccable, and the tv's had great content! Full stop! You guys I know this is in a strip mall of Affton/Webster Commons but holy crap! It's classy, delicious and the wait staff are awesome. My friend and I had the soba noods, I had the pork ramen, edamame, two sushi rolls and strawberry mochi. I came hangry, and was so pleasantly surprised at this place. Dimly lit, really nice atmosphere. Cool sconces decor down to the plates and comfortability of the chairs, and just letting the food speak for itself was awesome. Awesome. I 100% will come here once a month, as long as I live here.
