The food is extraordinary. A lot of thought was put into the food and the concept. It's Japanese inspired in very unique. We enjoyed everything that we ordered. Everything on the menu is meant to be shared and it comes out as it's finished in the kitchen therefore things come to your table typically one dish at a time. It's quite expensive but very well worth it. My only issue was the room temperature. It was very cold in the dining room. So dress warm!

Amazing sushi dinner at Sado! Every dish from the appetizers, entrees, sushi, and desserts were thoughtfully crafted and delicious. All of our servers were so friendly and shared great recommendations. Beautiful ambience too, great place for dinner with a group so you can try several dishes.

I can sit up here and go on and on about how good the food it. How the thought of that little bowl of scrumptious velvety broth still makes me smile. How I only sit at the sushi bar because listening to the sushi chefs talk about their favorite and why I should try something new is one of my favorite parts. Or how we always get the same waiter and he's not just pleasant but you can tell he loves coming to work so it makes the experience better. Or I can say, do yourself a favor and treat yourself to one of the best meals you ever have in a really swank and sexy atmosphere.

What a fabulous gem hidden in Saint Louis. Everything here is delightful--service, ambiance and the cuisine. There is so much creativity in both the cocktails and menu. The sushi was perfectly fresh. We are from LA and thought we had been transplanted with how modern and sexy the restaurant was. They have great flexibility with their omakase options which makes it fun to try new things and let the chefs lead you. Any chance we are back in town this one's on the list.

Great for a special night out. Server was helpful and answered all our questions. Favorite dishes were lamb and sea bass. Drinks were incredible, especially the momento mora. Pillow talk cocktail is a great dessert drink.

What a wonderful experience, our waitress was Bridget, and she was super friendly knowledgeable, and made our entire experience! Best shrimp tempura roll I've ever had can't wait to come Back

Sado is such a vibe! The ambience is beautiful modern, cozy, and just the right mix of classy and chill. The drinks were spot-on (definitely recommend trying one of their cocktails), and the food was amazing. Everything tasted super fresh and well balanced. You can tell the chefs really care about the details. It's one of those places where every bite makes you stop and say "wow." Service was friendly and on point too. Perfect spot for date night, girls' night, or honestly any excuse to treat yourself. Definitely adding this one to my STL favorites list!

So good! Worth all the hype. It's pricey but the price tag is worth it. Everything was high quality and delicious, and the service was quick and friendly. Highly recommend the Brussel sprouts and if you can make it during social hour, get the poke nachos!

Great service and food . The ambience is upscale and sophisticated. Once I let go of a traditional omakase experience, it was easier to embrace and enjoy the delicious and random bites !

We went to Sado for our anniversary dinner - it was definitely a special occasion spot with beautiful ambiance and top-notch presentation. The space feels upscale but still comfortable, and the service was excellent; attentive without being overbearing. The food was fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully plated. That said, our total was over $200 for two, and while everything was high quality, I'm not sure it fully justified the price. Still, it's worth experiencing once for sushi lovers who want something elevated and refined. Isaan Hamachi (5/5): My absolute favorite of the night - tangy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. Hamachi Crunch Maki (5/5): Delicious combination of texture and flavor, my favorite roll. Akamai Maki (4/5): Tangy, delicious, simple. Smaller portion though. Masu (Trout) Sashimi - (4/5): Buttery and super fresh, one of the best pieces. Hamachi Sashimi - (4/5): Clean flavor and excellent quality. Overall, Sado is great for a splurge or special night out - just expect fine-dining prices to match the experience.

This may be my very favorite restaurant in St. Louis. The food is just incredible. Also, great service and great drinks. One of my favorite ways to experience it is either to go during social hour (currently Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 5 to 6 PM) and order everything on the menu or you can do the Sado favorites for $120 for two people during social hour and get to try multiple things from the main menu. I've also gone where you can say that you want to spend say $75 per person and then they will just bring you a variety of things to try. This is definitely a place where you should share with others versus getting your own food so you can try all the deliciousness.

We made a dinner reservation here because our favorite waitress, Elise, started working here a while ago and we haven't been to visit her. Request to be seated in her section if you want a night of warmth, attention, and culinary knowledge. Definitely need a reservation. The restaurant was full but not overwhelming. The layout was broken down in to several smaller rooms so it still felt intimate with a low noise level. We showed up early and enjoyed unique expertly crafted cocktails. I had a dirty martini with chili oil that has become my new favorite drink! Incredibly unique menu. We are huge sushi fans but the variety in the Sado menu is immense and it screams "be brave! Eat something besides salmon rolls!" The executive chef, Nick Bognar, describes the menu as Japanese Thai fusion. So we got brave! We went with the Omakase tasting which allowed our fabulous evening guide Elise to lead the event. This was a fun option that put so many menu options on our table I might not have otherwise tasted. Come with an empty belly and an open mind. You'll not be disappointed!

SADO never fails! Hands-down the BEST restaurant in St. Louis, and easily one of the best Happy Hours in the city. These pics are only round one... I was too happy to even capture round two or the drinks. Every flavor hits, every roll is fresh, and truly everything on the menu is fire. Happy Hour, the Tuesday 11-course veggie menu, regular fare, cocktails -- SADO is THAT girl.

'ssippi is a new(ish) wine bar set towards the western end of the collection of bars, restaurants, and shops that are the heart of the strip. The inside has a large wrap about bar and some limited seating. There is a very good selection of wine and mixed drinks and an okay selection of beer. The prices are reasonable. There is a very limited food menu which largely consists of snacks rather than proper entrees. So this is a great pre/post drink spot rather than somewhere you would spend an evening. The bartenders were fine. Nothing stood out either in a good or bad way. The mixed drink my wife had was very good. The orange wine I had was good, a bit on the dry side but overall no complaints from either of us. Without a highlight of the spot is the large patio. It is mostly taken up by large bench style seating. So you have to be okay sitting next to strangers. I actually enjoy these types of settings and I ended up chatting up the group to our right. There are a couple tables but they are few and far between. There are some overhead canopies and lights, and there was a nice vibe and energy. I was there and it was crowded. I really enjoyed it. Just two additional things to note. The bathroom line was very long. It must only be one stall. The entire time I was there it was a dozen people deep. The only other downside is that my wife and I felt old. The vibe on a late(ish) Saturday night was mainly 20 year olds. If I was in grad school or a recent graduate I would absolutely adore this place. Even if your 30s this probably is a good vibe. Once you hit 40 though you may feel a bit out of place on busy nights (or it will make you feel young again!)

We also shared a cheese plate, which was a nice portion for a snack with wine. The wines we tried were very good. The food was delicious and happy hour prices were very reasonable. Service was prompt and our server was very knowledgeable about all the wines. You for sure need a reservation here unless you come at 4pm as it's quite an intimate space, I believe about 6 tables. They have a tasting menu for 2 or 4 that comes with several small plates and an optional drink pairing (2 wines and 2 cocktails). For two the food was only $60. Would love to come back and try that tasting menu as it sounds fun. The small plates they offer could definitely be made into a full meal if one was hungry enough.

What was most disappointing was the complete lack of follow-up or customer care afterward. Additionally, our dinner service took well over two hours on a Wednesday evening, which only added to the frustration of the experience. I was also concerned to notice what appear to be inaccuracies in the suggested gratuity calculations printed on the receipt. Based on the total shown, the percentages listed do not appear to align correctly. Regardless of whether this was intentional or a system error, it creates an uncomfortable impression for customers and is something I believe should be reviewed immediately. That's the vibe. We started on the front patio on a Friday night and quickly realized we'd made a mistake. The doors to the interior were open and the music -- a rock-forward playlist that night -- was loud enough that we considered bailing. Our server, was unbothered when we asked to move up to the rooftop. Where we met with a new bartender and server, London, who rolled with it, got us resettled, and from that point on the night was great. London was clearly handling the bar and most of the rooftop tables, but she was attentive throughout, and made eye contact, which seems a near miracle from many 20-something these days. Bumping the score up just for the flexibility on the table move alone. The food: crab cakes were genuinely good, not life-changing, but well above the weak-crab-cake bar that exists in most of the world, served simply with capers and a small salad. I went off-script and ordered the wagyu burger medium rare with fontina (London mentioned cheddar is the more common pick, but the Fontina offerd a great alternative). The burger was deeply flavorful and cooked exactly right, but here's my one real note for the kitchen: toast the brioche bun. Wagyu medium-rare puts out a lot of juice, and an untoasted bun loses its structural integrity about three bites in. A quick toast would let the bun keep some additional integrate and keep up with the perfectly cooked beef. The pom buff were great, the best elevated patato tots you may come by. Beyond what we ordered, the Greek salad is a longtime go-to -- chopped, with grape leaves and pita, available in a small or large, and easily dressed up into a light meal with or without adding some protein or can be share as a self-dress bruschetta appetizer for the group if you ask for extra bread. The cheese boards are also a reliable pick. The wine list is extensive (it's a wine bar, after all), but they don't sniff at cocktails -- I had a solid fine old fashioned, and my wife shared had a Malbec that paired well with everything. Lots of gluten-free options across the menu, too. What Sasha's gets right is that it has refused to become precious. "Wine bar" reads as pretentious to some people, but this place runs as a neighborhood spot. You'll see college kids dressed way down, couples on dates dressed way up, Hawaiian shirts, oversized sweaters, the full range. It's the kind of place where you can split a bottle with your girlfriends, meet a date for drinks and a quick bite without committing to a full dinner, or roll in for brunch on the weekend. Different times of day, different vibes -- always approachable. 4.7 stars. Loses a few tenths for the front-patio music situation and the weak burger bun, but more than makes up for it on flexibility, food, and overall hang factor.

We were pushed to order quickly, our menus were taken right away, and the check came almost immediately. It made what should have been a relaxed stop feel uncomfortable and transactional.
