Top tier sushi! Word of warning, when the menu says "jumbo" take that seriously! These rolls were huge - I've never had 3-bite sushi rolls before. LOL! So big they can be a bit messy to eat, but worth it. The flavors of the two rolls I ordered were fantastic and the ingredients were super fresh. I'm not usually in this area so when I found myself out here, I thought I would give them a try. I confess, I came to this strip mall fir Vivola Express, but the line was out the door. I spotted this restaurant across the parking lot and when I went inside, there was only one other table occupied. The service was great, and the food was fabulous, I don't know why their place wasn't jampacked. I think it's the best kept secret that needs to get out! I can't wait to go back and try more dishes. They have Korean food too!!

Top sushi was a pretty good spot. Would return but probably only for takeout as the service was focused on takeout service above those seated Liked: the atmosphere was okay, but had a lot of items sitting around and was more takeout focused. Service also reflected that.

This is such a cute hidden spot! It's known primarily for its takeout, but the inside for dining is so clean and orderly! There is also plenty of parking. I was sat right away and helped immediately. Everyone is so friendly here, I felt so welcomed. The Spring rolls came out hot and fresh! And the sushi also was so good! It was fresh and the flavors balanced nicely. The Hot Mama roll was my favorite! Not a high-end sushi spot, but nice quality and definitely worth the price!

Tasty little sushi spot right around the corner from my house! This sushi restaurant is a tiny little hole in the wall with some great options and competitive prices. They have online ordering, but pay when you pick up. This is not really a sit down place, more for when you want to be cozy at home with a craving for delicious sushi. Me and my wife always get gyoza to start, but also shared the Pizza, Crab Rangoon, and California rolls! Our favorite was definitely the crab Rangoon but they were all very tasty! We are glad to be just a mile down the road because we will definitely be back.

The best quality sushi I've ever had. Miso is so hearty. Had 3 rolls, they were amazing

Went here as it was a nearby joint that we wanted to check out. I'll start first by saying the owner greeted us with a warm and inviting welcome which was super appreciated! The price was a little more than I'd like to pay but the dish was fantastic! The sushi was presented well and tasted great. Main reason for the four stars is the a restaurant was pretty warm but it was still a pleasant meal and I'm sure we'll be back again!

Boat special for two, plus two rolls. We also ordered hot Sake.

The food was decent and their food display was well done! The service was okay, they seemed pretty keen on cleaning up around us. The atmosphere was intimate and family owned. Overall a decent place to eat if you're on that side of town.

Stumbled across this place and so glad we did. Quaint little place with great vibe and friendly service. Didn't know what to expect was presently surprised by the quantity and quality of the food. The fish, amazing and the rolls were fantastic. The size of the sashimi cuts were spot on. Definitely get your moneys worth at Top Sushi. We'll be

I was in the mood for sushi rolls so we went to Top Sushi last night. We have been here for several times in the past and I liked some of the rolls here. It was pretty busy when we came in but service here was fast and welcoming. The owner usually took order and brought food to your table. I was a little disappointed because the sushi rice was a bit drier than usual, other than that everything was good.

We went on a Saturday night and had to wait for a table (only about 10 minutes) . There are only 8 tables or so but it is worth the wait. The owner was incredibly accommodating got us drinks while we waited for our table. We ordered shortly after being seated and the food came out very fast. The crab Rangoon had amazing flavor, some of the best I've had. The rolls were large in size and pricing was good. The ramen also tasted great, amazing mix of spices. The place was clean and we enjoyed the lanterns hanging for ceiling. We would go back again!!

Got carry out and knew it was going to be good the moment I saw the place. Walked in and the man making my sushi was very friendly and the man behind the counter was great. Great customer service and quick, and great prices for the quality. Best savory Crab Rangoon I've ever had. I got the dynamite roll (would've gotten the lunch special, great deal - but it was too late in the day) Now I have had sushi from almost every joint in the STL area and this was by FAR THE BEST ROLL I HAVE ATE IN MY LIFE!!!! New favorite spot.

Ambiance: Very nice, dark, cozy -- date night vibes…read more Service: Great! Polite, smiles, answered all our questions. We started with the Isaan hamachi. It was okay, but compared to Sado's version it just didn't hold up. The biggest issue was the aroma--it had a sour, almost "rotten milk" smell. I'm not sure if that was from the coconut milk reacting with the acidity of the dish and was intentional, but it really affected the overall experience. The flavor itself was decent, but smell plays such a big role in taste. Next was a white fish sashimi (I can't remember the name) served over a thin orange slice and topped with jalapeño. The flavor combination was really nice and refreshing, but the slices of fish were paper thin. At around $20, I expected a more substantial portion. The gyoza was solid. Nothing groundbreaking, but well-executed with great flavor, a beautiful crispy lace, and honestly one of the best-smelling dishes we ordered. The palm sugar ribs came highly recommended, so I was excited for them. Texture-wise they were excellent--crispy outside, juicy inside--but the sauce had an overpowering aroma that reminded both of us of wet dog. My guess is the fish sauce was a little heavy-handed. I've had plenty of dishes with fish sauce before and love the depth it adds, so I don't know if this was intentional or just an off night. The flavor itself was good, but the smell made it difficult to fully enjoy. (It was pungent in the worst way) The standout of the night was the Japanese eggplant. Absolutely incredible. Perfectly cooked, packed with flavor, and the chili crisp brought everything together. Easily a 10/10. For dessert, we had the mango custard coconut cake, which was also delicious. Favorite cocktail: the Re-Animator. Refreshing, citrus-forward, with just enough wasabi to give it a subtle kick. I've never had anything quite like it and would absolutely order it again. Overall, it wasn't the strongest first impression. There were definitely some highlights--the eggplant, dessert, and cocktail were all excellent--but if I'm spending this much on dinner, I'd probably choose Sado, where every visit has been consistently outstanding. That said, I'd still come back for that eggplant alone. This reads more like an honest dining journal than a takedown. It gives credit where it's due, clearly explains why certain dishes didn't work for you, and ends on a fair note rather than a harsh one.

We went around the block to just walk around and eventually went to the Schnucks across the street to grab a few things. Even though there were probably 4 parties waiting ahead of us, our total wait time was maybe 15-20 mins. Our server was soooooo funny and thoughtful. 10/10 made our night. I accidentally got glutened (my mistake not theirs). Just know if you have any dietary restrictions, they actually will do everything they can to prevent it. I just forgot to tell them and I accidentally ordered something I didn't know had tempura flakes in it (it is marked with a little triangle). I did not get charged for it, but in this day and age with restaurant margins being so thin, please don't waste food. Anyways, the food was delicious. My friend got the sexy girl roll on top of our dinner. It's a "cooked" roll with torch glazed/fired steak on top of a tempura shrimp roll. Come for dinner just to have the option for white tuna nigiri. They just added new roll options, too for the AYCE sushi, since the last time we came here (about 4 months ago). It was a little chaotic, but in a fun way, that only happens in Saint Louis lol. I think there were a lot of families around touring SLU or something.

They also honor a student discount and I believe Sundays they do a BOGO deal on the AYCE which is such a great value if you can time it right. The chefs are always hard at work in the kitchen and you can tell everything is made with love. I had never had any issues here with the food nor the staff. However, I had a different experience in April. My friend made a reservation for his birthday today. It was the groups' first time coming and they were all very excited. We called multiple times to make sure a group of 12 was okay. We are all aware that not every restaurant is suitable for such a big group, but were told it was not a problem. As soon as we sat down, we could tell one of the servers was very annoyed at the group. From the start, he would answer with an attitude, harshly put the plates on the table, and was outright disrespectful when we asked about a friend's plate that never arrived. This person ended up leaving and going to eat somewhere else. I was a server before and understand that big groups can be frustrating. Nevertheless, there is no excuse to treat a table so rudely when they have been nothing but nice and understanding. The food was great, but we were all extremely dissapointed, specially me since I've been here numerous times with no problem. I had never seen this server before, so I'm not sure if it was an off day for him or what. Most people said they would not come back, which made me very sad since it's good food. Thankfully, the female servers were all very nice and accomodating after the entire situation. I highly recommend Sushi Koi for their rolls. However, do not come in big groups.
