It was exactly 6:30 so they saw our friend. As I turn to walk onto the ferry, they shut the door in my face. Rolled their eyes to our friends in the other side and ignored us. Normally I'd read these comments and think maybe people were rude or didn't understand that time is time but this was a complete lack of empathy and understanding over 20 seconds. They split our party and then ignored us after and push past us. Is crazzzy! We dont mind the wait but refused to let our friend off or anything. (It's their first time)

You could either get a two way ticket ride from the specific destination booth or one way ticket ride if you can't decide from which part you'll be coming back from. We had the most accommodating ticket booth associate. She answered all my inquiries to my easy understanding. She provided me with brochures with map and information about the island and the ferry schedule. It was a short 20 minutes ride trip . It was a fun experience enjoying Long Island sound especially that we picked to sit on the top deck. Each end destination is about a mile apart . Hopping from one site to other is either walking along the ocean path or via water taxi. We went to Sailors Haven and enjoyed the vicinity and it's famous Sunken Forest . We walked along the ocean path to Cherry Grove and came from there going back. There is no ticket booth at Cherry Grove but don't be alarm, you just have to pay the fare at the exit booth. Definitely using again same service if decided to come back.

Since I read there would be walking & riddles to be solved. And the older fam aren't too fond of the unknown & puzzle solving LOL. The ones that responded decided as a group to do the Cupcake Conundrum in Patchogue. What a great way to explore the different shops on Main St. I don't wanna give too much away because that's where the fun is. Solving the clues & finding the next spot. We got to try Locale where we dined on Mussels in wine sauce & a Margherita Pizza. Both were delicious! That's where we got our first clue. Then there was The Paper Doll Curiosity Shoppe which we all loved and Todd was so friendly & such a pleasure to talk with. Fun stuff in the store. Like the funky glasses with mustaches that we received & wore for the rest of the day like it was normal. We were stopped several times by curious onlookers who wanted to know about the glasses. We proudly told them "We're Food Detectives!!" LOL Several wonderful restaurants including 2 desserts. All of the food was delicious & enjoyable. We had a clean, comfortable bus that picked us up on time and our driver was the best! We definitely will be using them next year. Tip: Don't fill your bus to the limit, ours was a 26 passenger and we were 22 you'll need some elbow room so your not packed like sardines!

Kevin arrived early with the kayaks and helped my family understand the safety precautions he takes. The tour we chose was three hours and we all had a blast! It was easy kayaking, even for the kids. He mentioned there are other tours were the trips are geared more for adults. He was great with helping to make sure everyone kept up and had a fun time! We highly recommend Paumonok Tours for a fun time out in the water. The kayaks were new and the life vests were clean and comfortable.

Money well spent on a sweltering day. Our tire actually popped on the way back, hit a little bump, jumped and boom. It wasn't very far from field 5 so we walked the rest of the way and got a little discount. Honestly, it made the day even more exciting amd gave us a story to tell. Literally left with a bang. While driving through Oyster Bay, I kept seeing signs to Sagamore Hill. Quite honestly, I didn't…read moreknow what it was, but given our curious minds, my daughter continued driving to follow the signs up to Sagamore Hill. Turns out, it was the home of 26th President, Theodore Roosevelt, from 1885 until his death in 1919. The house and its surrounding farmland became the primary residence of Theodore and Edith Roosevelt for the rest of their lives. Sagamore Hill became known as the "Summer White House" during the seven summers (1902-1908) Roosevelt spent there as President. Turns out, Sagamore Hill is also an animal preserve, too. "Teddy," being quite the lover of animals, stated that forever and ever, animals are ALWAYS welcome on his 83 acres of property. Yours, mine, anybody's. FOREVER. That is a really cool thing. Sadly, we arrived after 5 p.m., so the buildings were closed, but there were plenty of things to see outdoors. Beautiful, well kept grounds. Next time I'm in town, especially if my husband is around, we'll return, and maybe within the hours to see the interior of his house. Too bad our little doggies won't be. They'd love it here !!

So instead we spend the days as gentiles, perusing the free museum, strolling the nature trail and splashing around in the private Roosevelt beach at Cold Spring Harbor... nobody got naked... you can't prove it... and it was only for like five seconds... There are also domestic turkeys poking around... and those suckers sure can run if you try to chase them, which we did... all in all a pretty fun day!
