Also includes decks on water for boats. Restrooms for male and female that is open 24/7. But also indoor private showers, that are closed at nighttime, open in the daytime. There are around 50 camping sites that are either close to the Dorena Lake, in the middle, closer to the woods or party sites. Every site has its own fire pit and an area for either a car, RV or a motor-home. Also provides filtered water hoes at certain places around the sites, trash bins for garbage/recycling and liquid waste disposal. SUMMARY; At this camping location you may shower, use the restroom, physical activity at the field, swim, fishing, fire wood burning (fire pit) and riding on a boat. As a county park, there is a no-alcohol policy. While I'm sure some people discreetly partake, that policy adds to the family friendly atmosphere. Our campsite was in the middle with very little privacy or shade, but we walked around and it was one of the only "bad" spots in the place. I reserved it unseen and shortly before we went, so I was just glad to have a spot. If I come again, I'll reserve in advance and get a water view. For us, the camping was secondary as we spent most of the day out on the water. There is a boat launch for larger vessels and a great big parking area to leave your truck and trailer. We were able to park near the grass and air up our inflatable SUPs pretty close to where we put in. We put in near the beach and spent the day paddling around and it was great fun. It's a lovely lake and we had a great time, but not the "most amazing" lake to paddle by any means. I would come again, next time with friends!

His equipment is pristine and as you know the scenery on the river was beautiful. Ron is the kind of guy that I would like to have a beer with after a day of fishing. He supplied all the gear needed, snacks, water and we even pulled off the river where he cooked us up a fantastic lunch. We come up to Oregon envy summer to visit family and I will most definitely use his services again. Next year I can't wait to bring my 3 year old out with us!

Salt Creek Falls is Oregon's 2nd tallest waterfall, a 286 foot plunge from top to bottom. Visiting…read morehere is easy. It's located right off Highway 58 and 65 miles southeast of Eugene, OR. It's a $5 day use fee. I visited on Labor Day Monday and it wasn't so busy. Once you park, Salt Creek Falls is off to the right hand side but...Diamond Creek Falls (another very worthwhile waterfall to visit) is located towards the left hand side. So...I'd suggest visiting both. You get rewarded with 2 waterfalls for the price of 1 admission. The pathway to Salt Creek Falls Viewpoint is half a mile at most, but along the way there'll be a quick preview of the falls beside the staircase leading towards the trailhead. You can't miss it and you'll hear the falls loudly crashing down below. The hike to the viewing deck is casual. You walk through the forest. It's pretty quiet. Once you arrive at the lookout viewpoint, Salt Creek Falls is impressive. You get undisturbed looks at the waterfall. If your curiosity interests you, you can walk around past the platform for closer glances. I did venture out a little just to avoid the guardrail being in my pictures. But I would say...it's a very steep decline and footing wasn't so secure. Be cautious with your steps. You'll understand this while there. Btw...there were no signs indicating you couldn't venture past the viewing deck. It's up to you to decide how much further you'd like to explore. I noticed some people joined me on the cliffside, while others stayed on the viewing deck. In all, it doesn't take long to see Salt Creek Falls. It's definitely a refreshing breathe of air to be at another marvelous Oregon waterfall, and that's where making the next part of your visit better when you return back to the parking lot and continue onto the 3 mile roundtrip trail to Diamond Creek Falls. I won't say too much about Diamond Creek Falls. I can save it for another review, but I will say it's a complete 180 degree different type of waterfall and setting. You get more into the heart of nature. And you can stand at the base of Diamond Creek Falls looking right up at it cascading in front of your eyes in comparison to witnessing Salt Creek Falls from a vista point platform. They're both unique natural wonders in their own ways. If you're in the central part of Oregon, I'd make plans to come to Salt Creek Falls. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by two magical looking waterfalls that barely get recognition. I didn't know they existed prior to 2024, and I thought I had been to them all, lol. Goes to show...there always more to see, always more to discover. Getting out among the great outdoors is a beautiful thing.

I decided to drive outside of Eugene and explore this area with a friend a few months back and…read morerecently I went again last weekend. It's a nice drive out to Dorena Lake and this park is really easy to find. It sits right where Rat Creek enters the lake and has a large parking lot. When I went the boat launch was closed but it looks like you can do that here. I saw a few people fishing and the view itself is very pretty. The sparkling water with the trees surrounding it is really nice. Recently when I went there was a lot of broken glass scattered on the beach in all the areas I walked. I had my dogs with me and was a little nervous to hang out there for much longer. I definitely wouldn't want to be barefoot here and if you have kids, be careful. On a hot day it might be nice to come hang out here but if there's this much glass I would probably find somewhere else. There is normally a nice trail you can take around the lake but after the recent snow storm it's closed due to so much debris and fallen trees on the path. When it's all cleared out it will be great for walking and biking. It would be really nice to bring kayaks out here, there weren't any boats on the water when I went recently. There are bathrooms near the parking lot.
