A great find in Ohiopyle. The pizza is clearly homemade with attention to doing it well. We got a traditional Veggie Lovers pizza and a more unique BBQ chicken pie. Both of them were very enjoyable, and we'd order both again. We were staying a few blocks away, so we picked it up and ate out our place. They have some cute outdoor seating if you want to eat in. They are also very allergy friendly. They are peanut & tree nut FREE, and had signs that they can accommodate others with advance notice. It's really comforting to see this care. read more

After a long day of hiking my friends and I were trying to find somewhere to eat dinner. Everywhere we tried seemed like it was closed. Thankfully, they stumbled on Paddler's Pizza. It met my three requirements. Food, Beer and it was actually open. I ordered a large meat lovers pizza and some cheesy bread sticks. My friends and I then went outside to find a table and wait for our food. I did not see any seating inside the restaurant. The food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. Unlike most other food places we went to the food didn't take forever to arrive. Both the meat lovers pizza and the cheesy breadsticks were very tasty. I'm vegan and I came prepared to get a slice and take the cheese off if I had to. Food is limited in this area and my hike had me starving! I saw they had some other things besides pizza so I ordered the Pasta with marinara sauce. They have a few seats inside but it is a slightly awkward layout. They also have outdoor seating. When my food came out, it was covered in a layer of thick mozzarella, which wasn't specified on the menu. I was able to pull it off the top and eat the pasta underneath, as it didn't get mixed in too much. Pasta was pretty good. Just regular tasting for a pizza shop. The bread had an unspecified oil on it (or butter) and garlic and was extremely greasy. It got all over my hands! This place is definitely edible enough to eat when starving, but not really anything to get excited about. I would have made a stink about all the cheese had I not been so hungry. read more

I stopped by with my out-of-town friend and her dad after a day hike in Ohiopyle State Park last Sat. After having hiked all day long, we were quite hungry, so, like the good Yelper I am, I whipped out my phone to scout out the local dining options. Of the places in the town of Ohiopyle, this one seemed like the best rated one that was open for dinner, so we decided to try it out. True to form as a casual pizzeria, you place and retrieve your order at the counter, rather than from your seat. There was ample seating both inside and outside of the restaurant, so we decided to sit inside. I saw the pizza maker tossing dough, which made me nostalgic for the time when all pizza parlors--even chain ones--did this, and indicated that the pies were MTO and fresh. Our order took about 15 min. to come up, so during this time, I sipped on Lorrie's homemade sweet tea. If you drink it, be forewarned that it's diabetes-inducing sweet--I love me some sweet tea, but this stuff was too sweet even for me! I recommend combining it with at least half unsweetened tea (I went 50-50 for my second cup, which was still sweeter than I like). For our pizza, we ordered a large (18") chicken bacon ranch pizza ($18.50). This pizza was more than enough to feed the three of us--indeed, it probably could have fed four people--but then again, as I said, we were quite hungry after hiking all day. The pizza was quite tasty, consisting of ranch sauce, mozzarella and cheddar cheese, and chicken. My only complaint was that the amount of chicken seemed a bit stingy, given that the pieces were quite small. Overall, we were quite happy with our visit to Paddler's Pizza. In addition to pizza, they offer ice cream, but we didn't get any. I'd definitely recommend it as an inexpensive and tasty post-hike meal in Ohiopyle. read more

Great pizza. Grumpy staff. We were referred here by our white water rafting guide at Laurel Highlands. Since there aren't that many options in the area, we decided to give it a shot. I'm sure the businesses have some sort of you scratch my back/ i'll scratch yours arrangement (based on the number of water rafting brochures on display), so I was surprised by the cashiers annoyed attitude at our presence. Yes, a lot of us needed change for a 20 so that we could give cash to the guy paying for our order, but we were also all buying our own drinks. Sorry for giving you more of the moneys! When I asked for an empty cup because we have kids and they wanted to share water/drinks, I was told that there were no cups, when the actual cups were right in front of me. I stopped by here with some friends for a quick bite to eat after a rafting trip down the lower Yough. It has a great location in the middle of town, and it's one of only a few options downtown Ohiopyle. Pizza here is pretty good, however the only complaint I have about the food is that it is VERY greasy! Other than that great taste and it fills you up. The menu has some oddities and includes some specials as well as items displayed that are not available for purchase while you are there (only for delivery). If someone likes your special and wants to eat it there or get it for pickup, why wouldn't you accept that business? The staff here wasn't too pleasant with us upon our arrival which is fairly consistent with the other reviews on Yelp. Pizza is my go to after a long day rafting/biking/hiking at Ohiopyle. We also shared a chef salad and it was huge and substancial for us both to eat. It's not a fancy place, but it's good enough for the environment if your there to camp.
