We went to Brenda's for lunch because we heard the eggplant parmesan was the best around. No joke. It is awesome. We shared an appetizer portion (still a big serving), but they also have it as an entree with spaghetti. We also ordered a calzone. The server recommended trying it with spinach, mushroom, and sausage. Another home run. We had a table with a nice view of the lake. A hot spot for locals and tourists, we had to wait 45 minutes to be seated on a Tuesday night but the hostess was accurate on the wait time and we didn't have to wait a minute longer than she said. The atmosphere is noisy and very much a place for families to eat. They specialize in a 26 inch pizza called Abbondanza although my party of 5 did not order this. My group ordered the stuffed shells, the baked ziti,the penne with vodka sauce and a cheese pizza. Everything was absolutely delicious! There ziti was a little unusual in that they cook pork in their sauce which gives it a different flavor and there were some larger chunks of pork in the ziti. No complaints from our group. Came here last night for the first time a few minutes to 9pm (they close at 10). We were looking for food after not having had eaten much all day. We ordered, Sicilian salad, shrimp, & whole 16" pizza! We all loved it. Food came out quick. We could tell it was freshly made! Even my picky 4 & 6 years enjoyed it! Never felt rushed, felt very welcomed our waiter was Jack and he was great, gave us extra plates and napkins and checked on us frequently! I had little to no expectations stopping here for a weekend getaway, but this was some of the better NY style pizza I've had in some time. The woman working the counter was not the nicest upon originally checking in (I was too early for the pizza and she made that clear to me), but the food made up for the dry attitude. I have tried this pizzeria twice. The first time I got a veggie calzone and it was just ok. But I decided to try it again to see if it was a one-off situation. We ordered a good amount of food this time to try many things. We ordered online and did pick up. Most things were ready when we got there but we had to wait a few minutes. When we got everything they went through it but I don't notice the missing toppings until we drove 15 mins home. Our chicken Cesar salad didn't have any chicken. So we went back 15 mins and then home another 15 mins. They didn't offer anything as an I'm sorry. By the time we got home our food was cold and then I realized they forgot the tomatoes on the salad that I paid extra for on the app. It was very disappointing. When we ate we weren't super impressed liked the first time we ordered from them. The shrimp were ok and not worth $25 price tag, the chicken tenders were not cleaned properly and still had the tendons in them, the eggplant was soggy (probably from the wait), the pizza was ok but again cold. All in all we paid over $130 for dinner and it was just ok. We were so tired and just wanted to have a nice dinner at home and it was not what we got. Ordered out to this local spot. It has nice reviews so we figured we would give it a shot. We ordered online, the prices were a little expensive for two pies. But the pizzas were ready like it said it would online. We ordered a fire cracker pizza and a ham and bacon pizza. Both were good. We were back in the area October 10 on our way to a tiny home in northern Virginia from Pittsburgh so we stopped at Brenda's again. I said it in my last review and I'll say it again...this is possibly the best pizza I've ever had! Since we were on the motorcycle this time we strapped the leftovers on the back. I didn't manage to snap a photo of our pies, but Brenda's pizza is excellent! My extended family visited Deep Creek recently and we enjoyed both the veggie and hot honey pepperoni pizzas. The slices are huge and the crust is great, and we loved the toppings! The location is central to the main town area and it's a cute interior (next to a cute coffee shop, too). It's a no-brainer, this place is a wonderful option for vacation meals for a crowd. One tip is to order with plenty of time in advance, since this spot is BUSY and might have a long wait time! Will 100% return on our next Deep Creek visit! read more

Brenda's was delicious for our arrival trip take-out. Upon arrival, it oozed local favorite and local pizzeria joint to the "T" as I took it all in. If that weren't enough to entice you, the HUGE (20" I believe) pizzas are done NY style and fed 3 guys (200#+) for 2.5 days on a weekend trip. After we had settled in and dove in, between the "za" and "sticks" we couldn't recommend this place more! It may be pricier than say Domino's or "Da Hut" - but you are gonna get what you pay for in this case. When we return for our next trip we will place the same order and hope to make this an annual trip and thus an annual (at least) trip to Brenda's. There is not a better place to get your pizza fix in the area, and I promise there will always be plenty of leftovers that bake up perfectly in an oven on a baking sheet. read more

The Abbondanza (the giant pizza) is a great deal for a larger group that wants to share. The pizza sauce is delicious. The Stromboli is great and well filled (not mostly bread). Over all, the food was hot, fresh and delicious. Staff were friendly, but our server was a little absent after we got our food so we had to wave someone down after 10 minutes because something was missing from the salad. We ordered Brenda's for our first night take out on a trip to Deep Creek Lake. We ordered a margherita, chicken bacon ranch, and pepperoni. We also ordered salad, chicken fettuccine, bread sticks, and cheese sticks. Pros: The pizza was delicious! We all enjoyed and it was more than enough for our group of 8 adults for us to have several days of leftovers. Cons: The cheese sticks were just okay. It's a loaf of bread with cheese in the middle which was not quite what I was expecting. Our salad dressing was forgotten. read more

Brenda's makes some really good NY style pizza! Stopped here in the way back to Ohio based on Google reviews and we were pleasantly surprised. The AC was broken that day and it was very warm there, but the service was very quick, efficient and friendly. Ours even made sure to see if we needed boxes or the check before taking drink orders from a very large party, which was much appreciated. The pizza is available by the slice, as any true NY style shop should offer (though many don't) and priced very fairly. You select the sauce - red or white - and your toppings. I ordered a red sauce plain, red sauce with pepperoni and tomato and a white sauce with sausage and micro basil. Both sauces were delicious! The red is packed with tomato flavor and has a great balance of salty and sweet. The white sauce is creamy and garlicky and the ricotta cheese has an incredible flavor. My two complaints are the crust was pretty soft and lacked the crispy crunch of an NY slice. While the crust was still foldable, my toppings were loose and not melted in with the cheese so they all fell to the bottom of the fold. A minor inconvenience, but an important aspect of a great slice. I will certainly visit Brenda's again, should I find myself in the area. read more

Dang this is great pizza. Was staying at a nearby state park - just me and the dog and saw the reviews. In our home town decent pizza hard to get - think $18 and they wave the pepperoni and sausage over it. Nothing skimpy about this pizza - amazing I'm sure they still make a great profit plus I'm not offended by the sparse ingredients. They actually made a mistake and made a larger pizza for me even through the small was going to be too much. I saw a couple outside who I gave 1/3 of it away to - rather than having outstanding pizza go to waste. Thus the on the hood photo! read more

On of the best pizza spots in the world, in Deep Creek MD. The aroma from the box when we drove it back to my sister's house in Thomas WV, was something that brought me back to my childhood days in Brooklyn. This is the way pizza was intended to be made. Good! Great place to stop after skiing for a good meal. Our food (2 pizzas) came out a bit slow because of an unknown kitchen problem but our waiter was kind and kept us updated.
