Dave Keung is the Manager of the store and his help is always way above and beyond expectations. Past visits after our purchase, and without charge, he offers to clean my ring to a sparkling brilliance, and gave me welcomed advice on the care of my ring. My fiancé and I got engaged in November and loved working with Mindy to create my dream ring! We had visited a few other jewelers in the city but we hadn't gotten that excited feeling yet about a ring. My parents and grandparents have all purchased jewelry with Padis in the past, so we wanted to give them a try. Last summer, we knocked on the window of Padis right as they were closing to ask if they had a Gabriel & Co. engagement setting available. Mindy ordered the setting to be shipped in from New York and the next week, we arrived and tried it on. She completely understood my vision of a more chunky, antique-inspired ring. I also had my heart set on a natural marquise diamond and she showed us several options in my fiancé's price range. We love working with Mindy as she is super knowledgeable and has excellent service. Whenever we visit, it is a fun time! It is also a low-pressure environment and my fiancé returned later that summer when he was ready to propose and purchase the ring. My ring is more beautiful than I could have ever imagined and that is hugely because of Mindy's amazing work! We are returning this weekend to look at wedding bands, too. You could tell they knew what they were doing! When looking for another jewelry store, we were recommended this one since it's local and many of my friends had purchased their rings here, I'm so glad we did. The roommate and I had an appointment to look at ring settings. (Or a somewhat of an appt. I believe we were told to show up around a certain time?) We arrived on Saturday, March 30th around 12:45pm. Padis is located in the Gift Center & Jewelry Mart. You have to sign in at the front desk, so allow time for that. I think we also had to show our IDs, so make sure to bring that with you. The location is somewhat deep in the building, so ask for directions. (We got a little turned around on our way here.) When we got here, the sales rep was helping someone else out, so we just wandered around the showroom and looked at their selection. After a bit, he sat us down and offered us complimentary water and sparkling wine while he finished up with his previous customers. It wasn't too long (maybe 15 mins?), but I do remember feeling a little antsy. I guess I just wanted to see the ring? The free bubbles did help though. Lol! The reason the roomie chose this spot was because he really liked a ritani setting. He had emailed prior to make sure they had that ring so I could try it on. I tried a few more on just to compare, but ultimately, we got the original ring he envisioned. We already had a diamond, so we gave it to them to set. It was relatively fast. We were here for about 1.25 hours overall. When it was ready, I went during my lunch break to pick it up. They showed me the numbers to authenticate the ring and gave us a little care package of champagne flutes, a bottle of bubbly, a jewelry cleaner, and a bag. I called them today to see if I could bring the bracelet in and they can tell me what it is and what it worth before I give it away. I was told that I need to have the original receipt. It was a Christmas gift! I don't have the original receipt but I have the information of the individual who purchased it and their contact information. You should be able to look it up in the computer and then call him if necessary to confirm. This is ridiculous and poor service. I have had jewelry purchased from othe jewelry stores and they had no issue doing this. I was even willing to pay for the appraisal. Horrible service! read more

First things first... Kelly is the best! My girlfriend and I started our engagement ring purchasing process by looking at other online websites for lab grown diamonds. We had a diamond picked out for her and all we needed was the ring size. We had previously bought a ring from Padis in Walnut Creek and called to get the ring size. Kelly told me the ring size and informed me that their prices were very competitive to other online jewelers. I booked an appointment to look at engagement rings, walked into the store, and stood/sat near multiple counters for at least 30 minutes waiting for someone to acknowledge me. It was busy but not a single person acknowledged me despite clearly making eye contact and trying to get their attention (there were several employees walking around). Not a single person even said hi and that someone would come see me when they're free. I was there for so long that I had to leave to eat and when I came back someone finally talked to me after 10 minutes. We sat down and the salesperson was quite pushy. Obviously it's their job to sell but all other jewelers I've been to have been very causal and easy going. I very rarely write reviews but this was quite a disappointing experience. I have absolutely loved my experience at Steve Padis jewelers. From the first time I went (after being referred to go by my cousin), Kandi has the best customer service I have ever received. She remembered my cousin, as well as took her time to get to know my likes and dislikes while looking for an engagement ring. I did not feel any pressure from her or feel like she didn't want to attend to me because I was not going to buy a ring that day. Such a sweet, patient lady, I couldn't have asked for anything more. Selection: 5 stars Sales service: 5 stars Post-sales service: 3 stars I found Padis while browsing through the Gift Center. The showroom clearly stands out as the most comprehensive and nicely set up in the entire center. Between the two showrooms at the same center they have a good selection of jewelry from many designers. Purchase experience: Nice and quiet on a Friday morning. Greeted right away and offered drinks. Everyone seemed pretty low key and friendly. We interacted mostly with Eric, who was both very knowledgeable and patient, but what I liked the most is that he listened and only shared his professional opinion when asked and appropriate (unlike most jewelers that use excessive sales tactics). He quickly got what I was looking for. A Tacori ring caught my eye and Eric worked closely with me to get it designed exactly like I wanted it. He also helped me select a good value stone for it, without up-selling me. The purchase experience was by far the most pleasant one I've had at any jewelry store. My ring was expected to be ready in 2-3 wks. Post-sales experience: Eric was prompt and reassuring when contacted several times with questions after the order. It wasn't until I emailed at the 3-wk mark on a Friday to check on the status that I found out that the ring had arrived already and was in queue to be set, but that there was a backlog. No problem. Expected completion: Monday. Monday comes around and I called to check on the status. I receive a call back about 2 hrs later stating that the ring received was in white gold, not rose gold as ordered. Highly disappointed at Tacori's outgoing quality control, if something so obvious is missed who knows how well they check details, and it brands itself as a craftsmanship premium designer. Padis' incoming quality control did catch it and sent it back that Friday, but given the 2-hr delay on figuring out where my ring was on Monday, it seemed like there was a breakdown in communications between the staff. This also meant I couldn't get a picture of the ring since they already sent it back. I was assured that my ring is now on a rush order and new delivery expected in 1.5-2 wks. Fast-forward another 2 wks, the ring finally arrived. I planned to have it shipped, but given the previews issues, I wanted to inspect it before taking it home so I drove myself back to SF. Eric was not there that day so someone else helped. The stone was mounted a bit higher than expected but otherwise the ring was beautiful. I also had them show me the serial number on the diamond and match it to the one I bought. Again, it's the final details that made this less than perfect experience. My certificate was not ready, was mailed about 3 wks later. They also put the ring in a generic ugly brown box, had to ask that they give me the original Tacori blue box. I still recommend the shop, but hope they figure out how to make the experience better end to end. read more

While my fiancé had picked out her band, trying to find the appropriate diamond in my price range ended up taking a few hours. She even had someone drive in supply from another location away from 888 Brannan! She was beyond helpful. Now, I've gone back to get my wedding band. The men's options for wedding bands is pretty limited, but she heard what I wanted, helped me find basic options available, and then patiently stepped me through all the ways we could customize it. Scott Brills spent over an hour showing me every possible option I was interested in. -The same exact diamond color/clarity/ size at the other place I was dead set on buying from in Sacramento (guzetta) came out $1k less here.... -Family owned, I didnt want to spend my money at a mall chain. -Great customer service. I know it's probably just what they do and I dont know if they do this anywhere else, but Scott opened a bottle of champagne for us when we decided, and sent us out with a gift bag of champagne glasses, a new bottle, and ring cleaner. I recently dropped in Steve Padis with my fiancee looking for an engagement & wedding ring (the day before our wedding, a bit of a spontaneous decision). We were a little overwhelmed by the ring quest process and had admittedly been intimidated in prior experiences at other stores to ask prices and other silly questions we may have had at the time. The Padis store itself was quite large with a lot of selection (and there are two Padis stores in the same building), which is always a good thing. They have a variety of designer rings and other jewelry there, as well as their own Padis brand. We were immediately greeted by Babur, who was incredibly friendly and made us feel welcome. He answered all of our questions, and worked with us to figure out the price range we were comfortable with. He also went above and beyond and gauged pretty quickly my particular taste and style, so that he could be more help to us by showing me rings that he knew I would like that was in our range. And to go even further than that, when I asked to see rings that he knew were above our range we had established, he didn't try to take advantage and up-sell like many other diamond consultants would do. He respected our limitations. After patiently helping me to try on what felt like 100s-1000s of rings, I finally found my "one" and I couldn't be happier with it. He even gave us a gift with champagne and glasses to enjoy at our wedding. The other consultants in the store were also very friendly, and were genuinely interested in our story and seeing my ring, etc. All in all, the overall experience here is great, from the rings/jewelry selection, to the comfortable atmosphere, and great consultants (Babur especially!) Fiancé and I were looking for wedding bands for our upcoming nuptials. We went to two Padis locations that are right across from each other. I posed a review for the bigger location #128 (see yelp review for Steve Padis Jewelry) , but I also wanted to post a review for this location which is the smaller location. Unlike the other location, We had a horrible experience here. The only good thing was the free coffee that they offered! The person helping us was VERY unfriendly and had absolutely no social or sales skills. We entered the store excited to try on some wedding bands. He was available and started to show us some rings. Then he leaves to go help another customer as she came to pick something up. I think okay, he'll be back in a few minutes...but NO! He not only gave her her bag, but he proceeds to stay and help her look for OTHER jewelry. This is all happening while my fiancé and I are waiting for assistance...we were waiting for a good 15 minutes. REALLY unprofessional. We even had to ask another guy for assistance and he quickly said "sorry, I am with someone else". Like really? So we were left waiting for the original guy and actually were about to call it a day and leave right there, until FINALLY he comes over and showed us some more rings, but nothing we were really looking for. Some feedback for this gentleman: When you are with clients, ask them about their wedding, or any kind of small talk! Be friendly and smile! And do not leave your customers for other customers for a great deal of time without checking in. So not cool. And offer water for your customers like seriously, I had to ask for some?! I can't speak for the other people working there, but just from that one experience I would not go back. We went to the other location and ended up buying our rings there. Alexis, we both know that I am still very much, not happy with the situation. The fact that you randomly post this "update" of yours is misleading and goes against what Yelp is for. So for the people who want the real scoop, I haven't had contact for quite some time with Alexis. I accepted a new ring because my wedding was the next day, which was June 2014. This seems to me to be a thinly veiled attempt at skewing the perception of this one particular transaction. Padis may be great the rest of the time for the rest of the people, but for me, they failed, and failed miserably. Babur was attentive to our needs and was extremely patient. He didn't try to take us out of our price range and knew exactly what we were looking for based off of a small amount of communication before coming in the store. We walked out with exactly what we wanted in a small amount of time. They even had champagne, food, and a children's area for those that may take longer to pick out a ring and possibly have the kids tag along. They definitely take care of their customers!!! Had the employee given me a rough idea of the stone's specifications that were a grade off, it would have made little to no difference (again, something I made abundantly clear). Whatever the excuse may be, I would direct anyone looking at this review to literally walk across the aisle because every employee at the competing location was far more willing to help and provide info. And that info was EXACTLY what I had originally sought from your establishment. Also, I looked up the accreditation you mentioned and as expected, it only covers technical prowess. I have no doubt in your ability to analyze a diamond. In fact, I expect it for $200. My issue is with the unhelpful and bullheaded answers I was given by your staff. read more

Steve Padis Designer Gallery is AMAZING!! The new showroom is fabulous and takes the buying experience to another level. We made a visit before Christmas and were impressed (as always) with the HUGE selection, great prices, and superior customer service. I described a "right hand ring" to Valerie I had seen on the website before visiting. She immediately started pulling out sparklers for me to admire. We also visited the 2 other Padis show rooms at the Gift Center so she could ensure that I was able to view all of the different options. I spent at least an hour gawking at 3 rings, which I was having a hard time choosing between. Talk about a "no pressure to buy" experience. While I was feeling guilty about taking so long to choose between the rings, they were serving champagne and everyone was making sure we were comfortable and happy with our shopping experience. I highly recommend visiting the new showroom.
