He also quoted me $175, which was significantly cheaper than another jeweler I had visited earlier that day. About a week later, I came to pick up my ring, and it fit perfectly. The shape wasn't affected either. In addition to the high quality of the craftsmanship, I also really appreciated how hospitable Vartan and the rest of the associates were. The job was not completed within the promised timeframe. He didn't bother calling me in advance and informing me about the delay. 2. The incorrect battery was installed, and now the mechanical arms no longer function correctly. 3. Several screws were stripped from overtightening, replacements difficult to find. See the photos. 4. The case is not properly closed, compromising the waterproofing. Have zero trust in this watch after seeing the quality of his work. 5. My follow-up phone call and voicemail were ignored. This watch isn't just a piece of jewelry, it's a functional tool I depend on. Ben should have declined the job if it was beyond his expertise; He would lose 35 dollars but that level of honesty would have earned him a 5-star review from me. This shop might be fine for simple watches, but for more complex or technical work, be aware of the risks. I hope my experience helps others avoid the same mistake.

They did start selling some of the Moonswatches online including the one I had, but I knew I was going to SF soon and that the store would be down the street from my hotel. Plus, some new colors and models came out that I was interested in. I was taking a risk because collectors buy certain ones up and often wait outside the store for new drops when they release. The watch I was interested in was the grey 1965 which had just come out. I came into the store and was greeted by the staff. I told them my predicament about losing one and wanting to replace it, but also about my curiosity to see other color ways that aren't available to me in SC. They asked about all the color ways I was interested in, brought them out, and added a couple extras that I might like. I was able to compare them all right next to each other and see the small differences like between the Mission to the Moon and the Moonphase which are super similar. I ended up leaving with the 1965 and I'm so happy with it. I even bought a watch for my friend who bought me the initial watch I lost as an extra thank you and to remedy my prior carelessness in losing the first one. Now all is right in the world and I love my new watch. I have to shout out the staff too who were not only helpful, but patient while I made my decision. Plus while I was picking out the watch I was gifting to a friend, one of the female staff members offered to try it on her wrist so I could choose the right size for my female friend.

I needed to get my boots' soles replaced and was thinking about completely swapping the soles too. Mak provided me a reasonable quote for the rebuild and was also very knowledgeable in the shoe care tips he shared with me. He said he would complete an entire rebuild of both leather boots' soles within the day, and I was able to come before closing time to pick them up. I accepted and left my boots and contact information. Separately from my experience with the shoe repair, a couple came in after me to do a watch repair as I was leaving. Within seconds, Mak was able to identify the problem and said it'd take 10 minutes to fix. Talk about someone who knows their craft very well! He sent a text less than 2.5 hours later letting me know they was ready for pickup. I came before the store closed to pick them up. The boots' soles were revitalized, I put them on and walked around the store with them. I was very happy. Mak is awesome, gets your shoe repair done quickly with reasonable prices, and I will absolutely going to Mak for any shoe repairs I may have in the future!

I walked into Seregin's with a friend of mine who was looking for a used Rolex. My friend became interested in a Rolex Submariner and tried the watch on and asked a few questions. My friend seemed fine with all the information but asked me to examine the watch and give my opinion. This particular watch was tagged as a 2004 model and being sold for $6,500. Now I am not a watch expert, but I do own a Rolex Submariner and know a few things about the model. The dial on this, supposedly, 2004 Submariner was marked 'Swiss-T-25' (should read 'Swiss-T less than 25' but characters are not allowed in this review) and anyone familiar with these watches knows that that particular marking has not appeared on these watches since the late 80's. When I pointed out my discovery to Paul, the owner, I was expecting him to say that the watch had been mistagged, but his response was "No, this is definitely a 2004 model. If you don't like the price, you don't have to buy it." Needless to say, I advised my friend to make his purchase elsewhere. Based on my experience at Seregin's, my opinion of Paul is that he is either ignorant of his products or a liar; neither of which bode well for potential customers. If you do choose to shop for a watch here, be sure to conduct your due diligence prior to purchase. As far as repair service is concerned, I advise that you get an estimate in writing.You might find yourself in a "$800? Your estimate was for $400." "I said that?" situation. read more

I needed a watchband for a Cartier watch that requires a band with little notches in the lug. My online search showed that there was not a lot of choice and what there was - in the range of $300-400. Wanting more immediate gratification, I tried yelp and saw good reviews for this place. I telephoned when they opened (on a Sunday) and Paul told me that they might have an actual Cartier band that fit it (they did, but not a color I liked), but Paul said they could adapt any others that I liked. I wound up buying exactly what I wanted but paying far less than the actual Cartier watchband prices. They said it would be an hour to fit and adapt the band i bought, but then called me after half an hour that it was ready. They could have let me just come back in an hour or the following day but called me and gave me a choice. Exceptional customer service, quality merchandise, excellent pricing and they never make you feel less important as a customer because you have come in for a watchband instead of to purchase a watch. I will be taking all my watches in here when they need service or watchbands. I can highly recommend it. read more

Seregins is a rare commodity: an extremely competent and efficient service that combines excellence, honesty and incredible workmanship. I've tried to get an antique pocket watch repaired for years with no success. I stumbled upon Seregins and have been absolutely delighted with their candor and excellence. Paul was up front in telling me there was little economic reason to repair this watch but it's one of our few family heirlooms and I was anxious to go ahead. He told me the time needed to find the rare parts needed and estimated cost. It's important to note the performance of excellent tradesmen like Seregins and I can not give them a higher rating. Read reviews of Seregins before vacationing in SF. Visited store, met Paul and staff. He was very personable and professional. I purchased an AP and Le Coultre in exchange for a Piaget and cash. Fair deal. Later in the week, I bought a pre-owned Rolex. It did not run. I returned it and they fixed and cleaned it in one day. During my visit, I stopped at another exclusive store to look at watches. I mentioned Seregins to a sales person/ manager. He had nothing but praise for Paul and his staff. I came across this little gem of a place by chance and I couldn't be happier. I inherited a Patek Philippe and didn't know much about it. Paul went above and beyond! His honesty, personality, and professionalism were exactly what I was looking for going into this knowing as little as I did. I ended up having the watch appraised, cleaned, and serviced. I called in advance and GWR staff (Jack) advised it was something they could complete in 10-15 minutes. Once they handed the watch back to me, I noticed several deep gouges around the case and case back/cap. I was shocked and immediately brought this to staff's attention. The staff noted one should expect gouges with battery replacements and/or case opening (Unbelievable to hear). Afterwards, the tech took my watch to the back noting he would discuss with their watch maker. Hearing the polisher/buffer running, I immediately told them to stop. Those in the watch hobby acknowledge that polishing in general is best avoided as it can deform/wear out the watch case. Per GWR's claim as "experienced Swiss graduate watchmakers", I'm stunned at the poor quality of work and skill, lack of customer service, and dishonesty. I've taken other time pieces to watchmakers in other locales and have never had such a poor experience. I will never recommend GWR to anyone and would advise others looking for watch repair to look elsewhere.

Parking is a little challenging as they're located in Union Square on the 8th floor. I paid for the parking garage since my daughters and I grabbed lunch and shopped nearby after. Movado watches need to have their batteries replaced and be serviced at authorized dealers or you compromise your warranty and the watch seal. I typically go to the Vacaville location since it's closer to me and they charge $50 per watch to replace batteries. It's a little frustrating that it's so expensive but they do a great job. My primary complaint is I've gone there multiple times and nobody was available to service my watch and it ended up being a wasted trip. I was charged $35 per watch for battery replacement and they did a great job and reset the time for me and serviced the watches promptly. That was greatly appreciated as I'm not a fan of leaving them and my daughters were in tow. The office was clean and well organized and by the looks of it their workshop where they service the watches is clean and efficient. I was very satisfied with the service I received and wish I would've brought my last watch that I had decided to pass on due to budget constraints since they were significantly cheaper. I was very pleased and I'll definitely stop by again if I'm in need of having my Movado watches serviced by a knowledgeable authorized dealer. Thank you for taking great care of me.

I've visited Clicky Bezel a few times and have had a positive impression each time. They stock a good selection of microbrands, including Kuoe, Baltic and Jack Mason, just to name a few. These brands all have their own unique design styles, meaning that almost everyone can find a watch that interests them. That, and the healthy, wide price range makes Clicky Bezel great for beginners and enthusiast alike. My favorite part of their store is that they also stock straps in a variety of styles, sizes, and colors. I was even able to custom order a strap for only an extra $10! On occasion, they've hosted events, where you can check out the watch selection later at night, snack+drink, and meet other watch fans. The owners are kind, patient, and provide good foundational watch knowledge when asked--in a recent visit they helped pick out some straps and talked through my options with a custom order, even though they were closing in ten minutes! At the same time, as a new brick and mortar store, they are still finding their groove--it can get busy during noon and 5pm, meaning you often have to wait for one of the two staffers to finish with other customers. I wanted to stop by a watch shop in the Union Square/Powell area, and this was perfect. Walking in, I went in and saw fun brands like Kuoe, Baltic, and Vulcain. There were a few more too, and I'll gladly come back to see them all. I was helped out by the lovely gentleman, and he was friendly and not pressuring at all. We had a wonderful chat about Seiko and his collection. I wasn't looking for a watch, but the natos and the straps they had were pretty nice. I ended up walking out with a nice nato for my field watch. The price was pretty good too, especially for a store-brand nato! Come by and check it out if you're ever in the area!
