We stayed for three months at Star Fish Inn through Padre Escapes. Stephanie, in particular, was very helpful and informative during our stay, keeping us notified of any matters that may impact us and answering any questions we had. She helped us retrieve mail on one occasion that had been misdirected and she orchestrated replacement of the garbage disposal as well. She was always friendly and welcoming; never giving off any "vibe" that we were a trouble. The accommodation was nice but I would give it less than five star. It had a musty smell that permeated the dwelling and the room deodorizers that were used to address it were overwhelmingly fragrant. We ended up getting some very lightly- scented / fragrance-free room gel deodorizers which helped some. The unit could use some updating. More specifically, some of the living room furniture (the swivel accent chairs) is uncomfortable and looking a bit shabby, the outdoor furniture on the second floor deck was rusted and unappealing and, on the main floor deck, there were two large broken coolers filled with funky water, a rusty fish cleaning station, a large garbage bin also filled with funky water, a hose...just unnecessary and unattractive stuff. When we would look over to the other decks, they were more enticing with no/much less clutter and more attractive and inviting furniture. I ended up dumping the water and stacking everything in the corner but it was just unsightly. There was also a canoe filled with funky water down by the docks -- too heavy for us to tip. At some point someone emptied it for which we were grateful. We just kind of felt like the poor cousins. That's not to say we didn't enjoy our stay. On the contrary, in addition to Stephanie's help, maintenance staff were responsive and considerate. We still spent a lot of time outside on the main floor deck. The rooms were well-appointed, the kitchen stocked with necessities , the beds were comfortable and with three bedrooms and three bathrooms, we enjoyed entertaining family and friends. In fact, we have renewed for next year -- just hoping to see some beautification of the decks and perhaps replacing the two living room chairs. read more

My parents announced they were coming to the coast to help me with house projects- ahhhhch!!!! My first call was to Stephanie Eckert at Aruba Bay Resort! HELP!!! My parents can't stay with me!! We won't all survive their well intended help! Stephanie guided me to the website, I booked Padre Pearl for my parents because it was NOT PET FRIENDLY and my stress ebbed. However when my parents arrived, there was no keurig and my mom brought her own pods and had a sprained ankle which limited her ability to manage the steps. Let me tell you that Stephanie was quick to the rescue by bringing my mom a Keurig. I found out later it was Stephanie's personal keurig!!!!! My dad and I were busy at my house and Stephanie even stopped over at the unit to check on my mom to make sure she didn't need anything. I must express my gratitude to Amber at Padre Escapes. She has been extremely helpful. We did have a problem. The unit we were renting had the AC go out, so we had to adjust our arrival time, which was not quite what we had planned, but manage to make it happen. With Amber's help and great service, we got everything rearranged. She also went out of her way to check on a few items we were wanting to know about the unit. That is beyond just "service" orientated. Now, we are hoping the unit is as described and the AC will be working. There are so many bad reviews, I just had to write something nice, not only because it was deserved, but because we are in a time of such hatred and anger. Come on people .... I know we are all extremely stressed, and this can't be an easy for those trying to provide service in the service industry because of all the restrictions and rules; we just need to try to "chill" and give people a break. read more

El Constante is the BEST condo resort, in my opinion, for a number of reasons. Location, best spot on the Gulf! Miles of beach, pelican and dolphins watxhing in the surf, dunes for quiet relaxing zen time and next to the jetty, plenty of turtle watching or thow in a pole for dinner! Of course, many wonderful restaurants within a mile, some walking distance jyst in case the fish weren't cooperative! But like all places it's the staff that make a stay enjoyable, let's face it, just perfect, that's where Melissa Pendergrass shines. She has her finger on every pulse of the building and will walk over hot coals to make sure guests are happy!!!! When Padre Escapes took over management of El Constante it was a great improvement. Terry Cox walks the property at 5:00 AM almost every day. Melissa Pendergrass the on sight manager is always very pleasant and helpful. It was about 4:00PM when I went to the office and asked if a railing could be placed at the side gate because my husband is handicapped and had a hard time using the stairs to get to the gate. Melissa went out to the gate and took a picture and said it wouldn't be a problem. The railing was installed by 2:00 PM the next day. If there is a problem with our unit Melissa will call or text me about the issue she will tak care of the issue. I really appreciate everything Padre Escapes and Melissa do for the owners. read more

Everything was clean and ready when we arrived. We like the close access to the beach to get our exercise in each day. Stephanie was so good to work with, if we had problems or questions she was the person to go to, and took care of our questions and concerns quickly. We spent a few cold days in and around the Kokomo club and she was always patient and friendly. Can't wait to go there again to avoid the worst of winter in the north country. We like the stores and shops on the island but also appreciate the proximity to Corpus Christy and the larger stores and attractions. El Constante, a Padre Escapes property right on the beach, is a warm and inviting retreat for families and couples... I'm lucky enough to call it my part time home as one of the condo owners. I've managed an HOA with 200 units on the Island for the last 18 years. I'm very familiar with Padre Escapes Staff and the customer service they provide not only to their guests and owners but to our HOA as well. Their always available when I have questions are need to contact someone regarding any of their rentals. I've seen staff come and go over the years and there are a few that stand out. Where do i begin. from booking it to checking out was such a wonderful experience. We had issues with anything .The office had someone here quicker than I could blink. The maintenance department those guys were in and out and I can say very kind and took well care of the situation as fast as the could and apologize continuously on the inconvenience that it might have caused. I can not say enough about the staff at Padre Escapes El Constante!!! All of them were wonderful! Always friendly, helpful and seem to love their jobs! Melissa was so kind in helping us to rent our unit. When our coffee pot wasn't working we received a new one in a few hours. We are new to the area and received suggestions on the area whenever we asked. We had a Super Bowl party, many activities and the staff threw us a fantastic party at the end of the snowbirds season. We have been staying at El Constante for several winters now. It is our winter home. We love the pool, the proximity to the beach, the friends we've made, and the friendly and helpful staff!
