Located in Dania Pointe just off 95 and Stirling, this location of the chain is spot on. Haven't been to this location before and been a long while since I have been to one, but that won't happen again. This store is very modern, open, and bright. Hostess was friendly and sat us right away. Our waitress was a hoot in a way that was great for us (I wish I remembered her name, shout out from the mamajuana ladies). We got a lunch special ropa vieja which was a decent size for lunch. The meat was good but the sauce was a little thin (tomato sauce like) for us. We also got a masas de puerco which was good (the onions were perfect), a little leaner normal if you want to be bad but not too bad. They carry a rum type called mamajuana that my lunch companion had told me about almost a year ago but we hadn't seen anywhere. They serve it in an old fashioned but we got a shot to try straight. While rum is not my first or even second choice of spirit, the mamajuana is my first choice of rum! I will definitely be back to try it in the old fashioned. Competing with a variety of food choices in Dania Pointe, we decided to celebrate Padrino's 50 year anniversary. Our exact reservation time was honored. Greeted by the hostess and sat with several guests in a booth across from the bar. Ordered a large combo appetizer and complimentary bread but they were skirmish on the serving size. The steak with black beans and onions was excellent and the wife enjoyed her pulled pork entree. The dining room was beautifully designed with dim lighting throughout. The gender neutral bathroom boasted light wood flooring with blue flowered wallpaper and a FoxTail Palm tree in the corner providing a tropical vibe. I was in the mood for Latin food so we went to Padrino's Cuban Restaurant which was walking distance from our hotel. It was during their happy hour time we ordered Guava'rita and Fiesta Tostones along with my favorite sweet plantains to start. Our bartender was very nice. She always checked on us to make sure we were doing okay. We decided to order lechon asada to share with of course more sweet plantains as the side instead of the yuca. Wish there could have been more onions as I love pork, especially crispy pork, but the grills onions put it over the top. Ended with some flan which was amazing. Recently went to Padrino's in the Dania Point plaza and it was amazing. Sat at the bar for happy hour and began with a Guava'rita. So smooth and easy to drink I had to order another one. For food I tried Fiesta Tostones which come in two and were delicious. Could have ate another two but optioned for an entree choosing the Lechon Asado. Perfect. Loved the pork with its crispy bits and the onions. Finished the meal with flan and savored every bite. Place was hopping which is a great sign. I didn't have a reservation on a Saturday night but they had space for me. It was busy mostly with families out on Saturday night. The food was so good. I asked the server a question because I was between two menu items and she told me which was more authentic. It was the right choice. I ate the entire thing. I tried the CocoLeo beer from Lost City Brewing, which was on tap. You can taste the coconut in it. The bathroom was clean and in all, it was a pleasant experience. I never give 5 stars but this one is a win. We had a terrific dinner there. We had the Churrasco it was cooked a perfect MR, the rice beans and plantains were all seasoned well no S&P on the tables and it's not needed. We had the green salad present in a large bowl so it was easy to cut and not fall off the plate. The Cuban sliced garlic bread very light and was great with the salad. I came on Saturday morning and found out that they have all you can eat option that comes with crispy roasted baby pig, salad, a lot of side, and dessert. But I decided to try their regular menu. Went here the other day for a friend's birthday. The service was great from the moment you walk in to the moment you get served. The decorations really gave the love to what was vintage Cuba before the communism took over. The food was pretty good, nothing out of the world but had good flavor. A fantastic place to enjoy Cuban food and culture. It's strangely located in a strip mall, but inside is like a step into Havana. The decor, music and the layout just makes you feel like you've stepped into another world. The hosts and staff are very friendly and everyone greets you with a warm smile. This review is for happy hour only. I went around 5pm on a Friday and got a seat at the bar right away. The bartender was very friendly and introduced their happy hour menu and regular menu to me. He made me feel welcomed immediately. I asked for a Spicy Mango mojito but it was too spicy for me. The bartender made me a different drink Summer mojito right away. I also tried Fiesta Tostones with chicken. There were two pieces. The flavor was good and the plantain was crunchy which was perfectly combined. The price was very reasonable for happy hour and there were many items to choose from. I would have ordered more if i wasn't going somewhere else afterwards. I liked the atmosphere as well. We had the truffle pig sandwich, vaca frita, kids pollo asada, empanadas, a side of extra black beans and flan cheesecake. We all shared the food and even my picky eater ( who we got the black beans for) loved everything. The kids menu was $10 to $11 that included same size beans and rice as our entree plus a little smaller version of the dish. They do have chicken tenders but we didn't try (I know it's a must for some families). The beef was juicy and crispy , the pork sandwich was the right combo of salty and sweet with just enough truffle, and the chicken was flavored well. If you never had sweet plantains you should try. This restaurant is actually look nicer than the one we planned. There are many customers during our visit. We order the Mar Y Tirerra. It is surf and turf. We were here to have the Churrasco and we bum to the menu by add the shrimp with slightly cost added. So we go with it. I got the medium rare and they cook it right. The Churrasco is delicious even it is not the best I have ever tasted. I like the big shrimp laid on top of the Churrasco. Food is great and comes with tree sides. I enjoy my time here. Came here as a group for lunch to try some great Cuban food, and we were not disappointed. We started with the Combinacion Cubana to try a variety of their appetizers. It was all so good, but the Croquetas de Jamon were so good we ended up ordering a separate plate of them. Their Ropa Vieja was so delicious. Meat was so tender and flavorful with plenty of sauce to go with it. They also do different promotions, and we had come on Sangria Thursday when their carafes were 50% off. What a great sangria they have, and it was plenty to share with the table, too. Beautifully decorated inside with plenty of seating options.
