When we got to Burleson Animal Emergency Hospital,…read morethey met us at the door and immediately took our baby to triage and took us to an exam room. About 3 minutes later, the nurse came in and took us to the triage area. Our baby was dying from her illness. We were very grateful to be with her, loving on her, during her transition. All the staff were very compassionate and gave us their sympathies and hugs. We were able to stay with our baby in the exam room for as long as we needed to finish saying our goodbyes to her. Within a day or two, we received a sympathy card from Burleson Animal Emergency Hospital. We then received a card from The Arbor Day Foundation saying Burleson Animal Emergency Hospital donated for a tree to be planted in memory of our baby. The folks at Burleson Animal Emergency Hospital went over and above anything we ever expected. We are very grateful for them

We opted for home euthanasia. The Hospice Vet reviewed our case and questioned euthanasia and recommended a surgical consult. Thank God! You're not just another appointment on the schedule. There's genuine kindness, attentiveness, and a sense that your pet matters. That kind of care is becoming rare, and it's deeply appreciated. My only regret is that it can be difficult to get an appointment--but honestly, that probably speaks to how valued this practice is in the community.

I took my baby boy in yesterday for his nails to be trimmed AND THIS "DR" OF 20+ YEARS cut the quick on his back dew claw which of course made him bleed, then he cauterized it (of course that was a separate charge) and then while I was putting my dremel in my purse (2 seconds) - because I had to dremel his front paws myself since they don't do that, I took 1 step to put the dremel away and the vet tech let go of his collar and he jumped off the 4 foot table! He could have broken a leg or 2 or 3 or 4 or worse...the stupid idiot Dr never came in to check on him or ask what happened, nothing..the tech just said " oh no, well you just keep an eye on him"...SERIOUSLY???? This is also the same quack that said in 20+ years he had never heard of a dog being allergic to chicken... ARE YOU KIDDING ME? THAT IS THE #1 ALLERGY IN GERMAN SHEPHERDS! My baby suffered for almost 3 months because of that idiot! What a joke and they better hope nothing bad results from his 4 foot fall from the table or they will have a HUGE lawsuit! Stupid idiots! So steer clear from them!

I know all people think this, but he was such a special dog and we miss him so much. We took him in one Tuesday afternoon because he was breathing/gagging like he couldn't get a good breath. Dr. Butler looked him over and couldn't come up with anything but said he had a slight heart murmur and told us just to watch him overnight and see what happened. He had a terrible night, hardly able to get a breath and we took him back in the next morning and as they picked him up to take him back to the exam room, blood just came flowing out of his mouth and he died right there. When we back to see Dr. Butler that night and he said he just honestly couldn't explain it. But after ME doing a lot of research i think he had congestive heart failure that had never been diagnosed. I just don't think on that Tuesday night he was given a thorough exam. It was late in the day and we were in and out of there in 15 minutes. Like I said we miss him so much. We had him for 11.5 years and it was so sudden and unexpected. However, they were very compassionate when he died and let us bring him home to bury him.

I had always taken my other dog, and cats, to the local vet, but when I adopted my pitbull, I wasn't sure if the vet, and techs, were even doing anything for him. His very first visit, with the local vet, I had asked him to look at his belly, because he had dark area and nipple that was enlarged. Rather than have him get on the scale that can raised, he just flipped him onto his back. I definitely didn't like that, and this was his first this vet. I always put a muzzle on him, just in case. I didn't want him to bite out of fear. He doesn't like his nails to be clipped, so I asked for the vet to do it. I was also told, by the vet, that his anal glands always needed to be drained, and I took him in monthly for that. The last time that vet saw him, he took him to the back to examine him. I wanted him to feel and make sure that his lymph nodes were okay and everything else. I never saw him do this, but I paid for it, because he took him to the back. Probably to strap him to the table, so he couldn't move. So, I decided to look for a new vet, and I saw that Summer Creek was fear free. This was probably a bad choice. I have paid them quite a bit, and he received his shots, once. However, that have never examined him. They have placed the stethoscope close to him but never listened to him. They have never felt over him, to make sure that there are no areas of concern. In a year, I have taken him several times, and he has never been examined, and I was told that he needs to be sedated, just to get a thorough examination. My shepherd mix had an amazing visit. She will not put weight on her back leg, so I wanted her to be seen. I wish I could remember who she saw, but he was just filling in. He was awesome and he manipulated her leg and stuff. He also happened to be a physical therapy vet. I have come to the conclusion that everyone is afraid of my dog and I need a new vet. It's really SH to charge people to help your pet, but do nothing, or take them somewhere out of your presence and you have no way of knowing if they were examined. I refuse to have him strapped to a table, or sedated. Also, I was told that only my pit would be charged the high price, because he was extra, but my shepherd wouldn't be, because she did need extra. That was not how it works. Sorry, this is super long.
