Always have had their pizza at family gatherings but never dined in before. Had a very nice time with my grandparents and girlfriend on a weekend night. Ran into some close family while there which was nice too. Place was busy but was able to get good parking and a table. Ordered calamari for the table and I had a French onion soup which was absolutely delicious for an entrée I went with the salmon which I had blackened with rice and french fries, oh I'm saying here is I'm the only one that cleaned plate which is how much I enjoyed it. Nice place and nice service. We got sat within 15 minutes but waited for the food for like 45+ minutes. More parties got sat around us and got their food before we had. We had also got spinach artichoke dip which was not all that great, I had high hopes for it. Overall, I loved the space and the staff were nice. My boyfriend mentioned the prices were great too. Started out with the meatball appetizer which was very good and also the tomato basil soup which was also very tasty. I ordered the chicken Marsala. It was just ok. The chicken came in chunks rather than cutlets (which would have been better). My husband ordered the teriyaki steak tips which were also just ok. A couple of the tips were tuff and fatty. Pafumi's recently upgraded from their further location to a new building right in Main Street in Wilbraham. Fortunately their excellent quality stayed the same while their ability to serve more people in a beautiful space has definitely improved. Unfortunately some of their sandwich and pizza offerings are no longer available as they expanded into more meals but the quality of the food and prob sizes remain very good. I went there last week because I hadn't been there yet and because I was in the area I thought I would stop there for lunch. They had just opened for lunch and I was the first of only couple of patrons. That was about to change. Patrons just kept rolling in. I ordered French onion soup and the veal parm. The soup took longer than usual but when it arrived I knew why. The bowel was huge with bread and cheese on top. The soup you could tell was just prepared and was some of the best onion soup I've had in a long time. Then came my veal. The veal occupied the entire plate on a bed of perfectly cooked penne. I hate ordering veal out as too many times the veal seems to have been frozen and just baked. This was the real thing fried perfectly and was seasoned perfectly. Outstanding. My only complaint was I asked for it to be served with angel hair. When I think about it penne was a better choice. The service was outstanding. Friendly and constantly asking about my meal and refills on my Diet Coke . I like to watch how the staff treats other customers. Here I believe is where they excel. Everyone treated like they were so important and the customers requests are quickly met. Definite high on my list for a return visit with friends. Wanted to try this restaurant for awhile. We were seated right away in a room with low tables, decor was cute earthy but the lighting was too low. It felt like a smoky bar. A carafe of water was placed on the table so we could refill our own glass. I ordered a pizza. I thought the plate I was given was too small for pizza slices. Our server didn't really come back to see if we needed anything after our meals were delivered. We kept trying other servers attention who were walking around. Paper napkins were needed as the cloth napkin were small meant to be on your lap. The pizza I ordered was just ok nothing special. My friend ordered teriyaki chicken he liked the flavor and size of portion. The restaurant was busy when we left people waiting for tables as the restaurant doesn't have much seating during colder weather. I would definitely give it another shot as it is a local business and I prefer to support small family owned restaurants. read more

Now this is not something you hear people speaking highly of because it is expected, but in this day and age I must boast because nowadays some behave as though you are begging for the food you are paying for. Let me not lose focus. You want to sit in counter height chairs or do you want regular dinner height chairs? This place has options. This place is awful: I tried to give it another chance but the food was just as terrible as it was the first time. The only reason it's not getting one star is because it's actually a beautifully done restaurant on the inside. Ambiance is nice. But beware when ordering a salad with chicken - it comes boiled and cold and when I complained the blonde manager told me "well that's how it comes" and no where on the menu does it say it comes cold BUT she told me the Caesar comes with grilled chicken. This place needs help on management cooks and other staff but at least it looks pretty. read more

I have been to Pafumi's three Saturdays in a row after they opened their new location on Main Street. The salads are fine, the Eggplant tower is tasty. The calamari was nicely cooked and was not rubbery. The meals using marinara sauce are grossly over flavored with garlic. The pizza is also over flavored, again there is far too much garlic. With our last visit we took home a "Burt lane pasta" with chicken. The chicken was not included. When I dropped in to ask for a rebate the owner treated me like a leper and never even said "I'm sorry". Mediocre and very variable food, unpleasant management; I don't expect to go back. This is a pity, Wilbraham could use a friendly restaurant. read more

I was so disappointed after having lunch at this restaurant today. I came home from Miami to visit my family and was excited about a new restaurant in my hometown of Wilbraham since it received good reviews. After waiting for more than 30 minutes for a table outside, we were met with subpar service and food. The Caprese salad was good and the quality of the vegetables was apparent so we enjoyed this along with the rice balls and were excited about the entrees. We were taken aback by the fact that no bread was served at an Italian restaurant. However, we were soon to experience much more disappointment. I ordered chicken Milanaise (no sauce) with linguini in garlic and oil and parmesan cheese and received a chicken parmesan breast drenched in red sauce with penne pasta that had ZERO taste or salt. Nowhere to be found were the Italian staples which I am so accustomed to in a true Italian restaurant like fresh cracked pepper and parmesan cheese, or pasta that has salt on it or is flavorful; nor were they ever offered. I asked for parmesan cheese 3 times and received it after about 15 minutes, just about the time I received my correct plate of pasta, which was tasteless. My sister's entree "Fumi's" was repulsive to look at since the Alfredo sauce overwhelmed both the protein and the pasta. My mother's chicken marsala was well done since our server never asked for the temperature of the steak medallions and awful to taste. It seems all of our pasta could have used some salt and parmesan cheese for taste. And even after all of this, never did anyone from management visit our table to apologize or ask if our meals were ok or if they could rectify the situation. Our server seemed super inexperienced and overwhelmed. I don't mind paying $50-100 per plate, however, the food and service must deliver in order for this to be acceptable. This is not the type of establishment to be able to charge that type of money for subpar food and a disappointing experience. Suffice to say, sadly, we will not be back nor recommend this establishment to any of our friends or acquaintances. *FYI-Always be wary of false reviews. It's a common practice to buy positive stars these days. read more
