worst food and dining I've had from a restaurant in a looooong time. I went in on my hour lunch break and the place was pretty much empty besides a few people outside and around the bar. I was the only one at a table. I ordered their mac and cheese and it was not only absolutely HORRENDOUS AND FLAVORLESS, but it also took my entire hour lunch break for them to manage to figure out how to put cheese on noodles. The waitress responded by offering me to take longer to make it back to work by making me wait to have it replaced with chicken tenders. I said yes and they were most as bad as the Mac and cheese. horrible. 0/10. stay away!!!!!! read more

Celebrated my husband's 70th Birthday party along with 24 guests at the Tap Room. Sarah was excellent in assisting me with the preparations. Food was great! Rude service, Atmosphere they try but they could be better. Good beer selection but overall they are just rude, at least one server is very rude. Talks to you like a child and yells at you if you don't like your drink because it costs them too much money just to dump it and make you the right drink. That's not my problem you should have made the drink right in the first place if it affects your bottom line that much. Went in with my girlfriend for a few drinks on a Friday around 8pm. I always liked their food (takeout) so was excited to see what the bar was like. The two female bartenders were not welcoming, barely paid attention to us. We had one drink and left. It was so strange, it just seemed like they didn't want to be bothered with doing their jobs. It was kind of empty so maybe they were just looking to go home but it was like 3 hours before their scheduled closing time. New owners! We were so excited that the Taproom was coming back! All I can say is STAY AWAY! Nachos have canned cheese, jar salsa and look like something from the bowling alley. Frozen chicken tenders. Slow service. Decent beer selection is the only saving grace. Based on the initial offering, I'd be leery of the "rib eye" I was hoping for the best, got the worst and will not be coming back for anything unless it's a beer. Found out food cones from Restaurant Depot- equivalent to a high school concession stand. Also, the receipt doesn't even have the correct name. I hope "The Pahk" in Westfield offers more to its customers, because they are the new owners. read more

Went there for drinks and apps. Trying to support local. Service was excellent and drinks were very good. The nachos were horrible. I don't write Yelp review but I don't want anyone else to get stuck with these. Cold chips with jar cheese sauce poured over them. We ordered them with chicken and it was boiled chicken. Raw peppers and onions on top. No salsa no sour cream. Nachos should be baked in an oven with melted shredded cheese and either grilled chicken or shredded chicken. And served hot. Just visited this establishment this evening. Dinned in with other people and I must say 5 stars to the waitress, she ran the place like a boss. This establishment has no signs anywhere outside alerting the public of no smoking zones, none to be seen. The evening went sour when a "bored" kitchen staff decided approach me and proceed to kick me out of the deck because of a "no smoking zone", again no signs anywhere. As we walk to our vehicles, my party was intrigued of what the "bored" kitchen staffer said. After some time while watching us walk to our vehicles he decides to approach the party again and request the plastic cup that was clearly empty of soda only! Melted ice to be exact. Times are tough with Covid and acting this way isn't gonna keep customers coming while "bored" staff members which can't even present themselves properly continue to be rude and asinine. First visit to the Tap Room since it reopened and it was disappointing as far as the food goes. The nachos looked good but were not good, barely warm, fake cheese sauce and salsa from a jar. The pizza tasted like it was a frozen pizza with some toppings added, and the chicken caesar salad was bizarre, a head of romaine lettuce, not chopped, with some chicken on it and some grocery store dressing drizzled on the plate. Beer list was ok. Had a burger that had too much onion in the burger. The waitress spilled a full beer onto the table that pour all over my jacket, shirt, jeans and shoes. I got completely soaked. The management never came over to acknowledge this. I would of atleast expected the waitress to take the beer off the bill. Not going back! The only reason I'm giving this a one star is because no stars isn't an option. I have never had a bad burger until I went here. The burger came out so well done that the NHL could have used for a hockey puck. I also requested no salt on the fries, of course thy came salted. The waitress said she requested no salt, but she did not control the kitchen. I should have sent it back, but I had waited a long time since service is slow. First experience was not good, no one greeted, and waited 10 minutes before we left and went to Red Robin instead. I went to the Taproom on a Friday night. The 80s pop was blaring and the place had a decent crowd. The group was a mixed bag: regulars, nurses in scrubs, young and old. The tap selection was impressive, but the pricing was premium. $5.50 for a dogfish head, and $7 for a neat whiskey. Looking at the menu the entrees sounded good but were priced between $14-$28. Seemed steep for pub food. Appetizers were regularly priced. Didn't actually eat, so no idea on taste or portion size. read more

Housed in the former O'Driscolls restaurant and bar. The Taproom restaurant and bar is a much more upscale version of the latter. The Exterior appearance seemed to be a work in progress with an outside covered deck and pergola still not finished. A parking lot in much need of paving that is also half dirt. The interior is very nice with a nice bar with exposed wood everywhere. But is it worth $20-25 entree prices? I don't know, but those prices are better left reserved for fine dining establishments. How many places charging $20 for entrees have an ATM machine or electronic jukebox inside? They do however have great beers on tap, nice wine list, and a decent Reuben sandwich that I had. Service was friendly and quick, but the drink and food prices are unreasonable. See my pics of the menus. Overall, this place seems to have an identity crisis. I'm not sure who they are catering to. When I stopped by on a Friday night the majority of the place looked 50 and over. They should focus on becoming a gastro pub, instead of high end dining. I really want to like this place. I have been coming here since this was O'Driscoll's back in 2007. I guess part of the problem is I remember what it used to be. Great cheap food, dive bar atmosphere, fresh popcorn and above all great music. And it was packed every weekend. Bands like Sweetwind and Billy Egan and Barney would keep the place packed. I have to say that the Tap Room has been redone nicely. It's very clean and new, but I fear it's lost all its character. I agree with a previous reviewer, it doesn't know what it wants to be anymore. Tonight I wanted to go out and see some live music with my parents. The live music hasn't been great there lately, but once in a while they have 1220 or another decent act. Tonight was terrible! There was a gentleman Gary Crook I think. He didn't have a guitar. He didn't play keys. Basically it was one man karaoke. He just sang to backing tracks. There were a few other uninterested people there at the bar, and it seemed like maybe a few of his friends. Try as he might (I'll at least say he was a decent singer), it's still karaoke. To me, this doesn't really count as "live music". I guess that's when I just became sad to see what this place has become. He shouldn't have even been booked as entertainment. It would have been better and more fun to just have karaoke. Sometimes this place also has a DJ now for dancing or something, it's just odd for a restaurant/bar like this, I'm not a fan. I'm writing this review mostly because I really want this place to be good, and I still think it can be. But with acts like this, and the occasional service problems, it makes it hard to convince my friends to come back. Reasons to go: great draft beer list! It really is quite good with some nice rotations. Also the food is decent. Reasons to look elsewhere: "live" music/entertainment hasn't been great. Food is on pricy side for a bar. Service isn't great (though has improved a bit recently). All in all I hope it finds its niche. It's not really a bar.. But it's not really a high end restaurant.. Personally I would like to see it edge more back to a real bar. They need to bring back some good entertainment, Billy, Barney, Tom, some other better acts that used to be there all the time. O'Driscoll's may not have been as "nice", but it knew what it was and did it well. And people came and had a great time. Hopefully the Tap Room can find its way. read more

My husband and I go here all the time. But unfortunately we won't be back. Yesterday we had somewhere to be at 7:00 and decided to stop for a quick bite to eat and cocktails. We arrived at approximately 5:45 and had to sit at a high top in the bar area because the bar was full. The waitress was busy as there was patrons eating out on the deck also. So we were willing to wait. She walked past us several times, never acknowledged us. Another couple came in and sat at the table next to us. The waitress went right over to them with menus. My family and I went here Sunday for a Mother's Day lunch. I don't think we'll be returning here anytime soon. Waitress was incredibly friendly but the service was painfully slow, and food came out a bit staggered. I got my calamari ten minutes after the first entrees were served. Beers were decently poured (loved the Black and Tan), and my mother enjoyed her cocktail. The biggest problem was the food. My calamari wasn't as described on the menu. Banana peppers were no where to be seen. I can live without the peppers but it was just bad. I actually had to go to the bathroom to spit out a completely inedible piece. The rest were like eating rubber bands. My father's burger was completely uninspired. He couldn't even finish it. The Caesar salad wrap was "meh". My mother's fish was OK. The only real bright spot with the food was the stuffed mushrooms. Prices were too high for what we received. Spending over two hundred dollars we expected the quality of the food to be higher. read more

I mean $18-30 on average for their entrees is high for this type of place. ...just came for a 3rd time tonight and the same bartender from saturday is very flightly and seems like she doesnt want to be here. When I simply asked if I could have an assortment of sauces for the chicken tenders appetizer was splitting she looked at me like I had 3 heads and said "well maybe a couple". When we got our food the chicken tenders were good, but interestingly the meat in the french dip sandwich is served cold which was a bit disappointing. Walking into the Tap Room the absolute first thing you notice is the beautiful hardwood flooring, which is carried into the bar. The atmosphere is very warming and very welcoming. The owner is very nice, the bartender that was working was very friendly and very cool (her name was Jamie). I ordered clam chowder and a BLT, my girlfriend had the lobster bisque and a chicken ceaser salad, everything was amazing, and i am definitely planing on going back very soon!! read more

Brutal! We went again last night and it was possibly the worst service ever experienced! I called ahead to make a reservation for 7pm for a party of 8. We arrived on time and were seated quickly. Once seated it took a noticeable amount of time for our server to come over. Once we ordered and got our drinks it was the last we would see of our server for a while... Twenty minutes or so went by before she came back for another drink order - no mention of the food status. That was the last we would see of her for a while - an hour went by before she came back again asking is she could refill waters! We asked the server how much longer and she said "I really don't know". No offer to find out or apologize! We would have left but we're with old friends and had a lot to catch up on so we used the time to talk. Roughly another 15 minutes went by and we were getting jackets on to leave and our food finally came. At this point we had been waiting (with little to no attention) and were starving so we stayed to eat. It's too bad, the food is OK (for pub food), but the service was horrifying. Been here a few times and have always had good experiences until this past weekend. My girlfriend had ordered a salad and had a few of the items removed, a fairly normal thing, however the waitress Stacy felt it wasn't as she wrote "This chic is nuts lol" on the receipt. Now the problem is, she typed it into the receipt, so when it was given to my girlfriend, it was clearly there for all of us to see. Proceed to us calling and asking to talk to a manager about the experience, and Tammy, who was the manager that conveniently answered the phone call didn't seem to think anything was wrong with this as her and another employee were laughing in the background. She then said she would call back in 15 minutes after she spoke to the owner. Except Tammy never called back, and after two days of no return call, we had called back. The owner answered this time and for some reason gave the phone back to Tammy. Tammy then proceeded to say she had called the day before and left a message, and of course no call or message were left. She then said she would give us a gift card, but she was about to speak to the employee Stacy, and call us back after. Once again no phone call was received. In the end, the food is good, but when the employees, manager, and owner don't seem to give a shit about offending their costumers, why keep supporting a business like that. Tl:dr employees are offensive and think your "nuts" for removing items on a meal, management doesn't give a shit and doesn't reprimand employees when they're in the wrong, and apparently the owner doesn't care about rectifying costumers that were wronged. read more

I was at the tap room tonight for an app and a couple drinks with friends. I have eaten here previously and have never been impressed with the food, but I do enjoy coming in for the beer. The service was pretty slow, but not horrible. Before we even got our drinks the bartender asked the band to lower the music. It didn't seem to us like she was asking rudely, but the musician started yelling at her. It was so uncomfortable and loud and went on for about 5 minutes. He screamed about talking to the manager and the bartender walked away. Once the manager finally came out, she stood with the musician's table for over 30 minutes. She was joking around with them, while we listened the whole time. It was extremely uncomfortable for us, as we were sitting directly next to them. As a former server, I expected the manager to go around to tables apologizing for the horrible experience, but she didn't at all. We wanted to leave the minute it happened, but had to finish our drinks. We were very disappointed. read more
