I took a while to write this review as my back pain used to come and go by itself until I started the treatment with Dr. Chen. When I first went there I was crying in pain and was living a nightmare due to my back pain. We started the treatment (12 sessions) and around the 5th session I started to see improvement but I thought it was just my back getting back to normal like it happened without treatment. I finished the treatment and was doing great by the end but to be honest I didn't think it was going to last. I thought that at the first time I had to carry weight I would be crying in pain again. But I got a job and have been doing hard work cleaning up gardens and carrying heavy bags and by the end of the day I am completely fine. I still can't believe I'm not in pain anymore but this treatment is the only explanation that I not longer have back pain after years struggling with it. Dr. Chen is a life changer! I've had SI and lower back issues for ~8years, after 2 distectomies, I was still having a lot of shifting in my hips causing imbalances in my training and which then resulted in major lower back soreness. I've been going to Dr. Chen for ~2 months and the experience has been incredible. He takes his time to assess issues at each individual visit which I think has made the biggest impact in the continued progress I'm seeing. The team at the office is friendly, the appointments always run on time, and he has great office hours. I am so so so happy I went to this chiropractor. I don't normally write reviews but I feel that if you have any kind of pain he will fix you. I have this terrible pinched nerve in my neck that has been getting worse and worse over the last year and I was so hesitant to do anything about it. I kept thinking it would go away. It got so bad that I couldn't sit and work so I decided to throw in the towel and see someone about it. WELL let me tell you.... Dr. Jin was so incredibly nice, and professional, and did all kinds of things to my neck and head that the pain is down by more than 50%. I have to return a few times a week and then he will give me an exercise plan on how to rebuild the muscles in the area. He had to take an x-ray to see the bones and sure enough, my neck is falling forward and causing the nerves to get pinched. When you sit at a computer all day and look down at your phone all the time your neck falls forward and that's how you end up with that small hump between your shoulders. Anyways I'm so happy that the hump will be gone, I'll even be taller LOL and most importantly the pain will be gone. I went to a few chiropractors 10+ years ago and Dr. Jin does way way way more to you. He does all kind of manipulations and works on you for a long time. Night and day from other chiropractors out there who just lay you down do two things and bye bye. He works on you for a long time. AND to top it allllll off he's a third cheaper than anywhere else that I called. He's so good that I'm taking my son to see him. Dr. Chen is amazing. He has a calm demeanor and is very approachable. He's happy to answer any (and all) questions I have -- and never makes me feel rushed with his answers or treatment. He is very realistic in communicating his assessment/recovery expectations. I had to reschedule a couple of appts (with proper notice of course) and his staff is so nice and accommodating. Once I forgot my wallet and they allowed me to pay at my next visit. In the moment there was not much else that could be done, of course, but the ease at which she told me made me feel much better. I've witnessed this go not so great for patients in other offices. I'm sad that I've had to relocate and now will have to find a new physician as he really is one of a kind! I seldom wrote reviews , but Dr.Chen is quite a miracle in the medicine. In two weeks I got rid off neck pain, sleepless nights and terrible headaches. My posture is also changing, it is kinda getting straight. I keep undergoing treatment cuz I have a couple more issues, but first time in my life I have a doctor who is an expert in the field and is able to address issues right away in the most professional way. I was having migraines and headaches due to working on the computer all day + sports injuries. I don't write reviews very often, but I just recently recommended Dr. Chen to a friend who is probably the fifth person I sent Dr. Chen's way. I write this review not only out of appreciation for Dr. Chen, but in light of the many poor experiences I had with other DOs in New York. DOs who, very obviously, were more interested in making money than helping me. I found Dr. Chen on Zoc Doc then referenced Yelp (duh) to make sure the reviews correlated. I visited him in December of 2014 because I was experiencing back pain that I was experiencing from working out. I didn't feel comfortable with the first DO I visited anyway, but once they told me I would have to go back for treatment once a week for 10 weeks I knew I needed to find another DO, which is when I found Dr. Chen. My experience with Dr. Chen and his staff was more than positive. They were friendly, prompt, and my appointment was also very short. I felt immediate relief and to my surprise, he told me that I should schedule a follow-up only if I was still feeling discomfort in the following days, which shows that Dr. Chen is of high integrity and I made the right choice by selecting Dr. Chen as my DO. Ah, I can't say enough about the doctor!! I came with extreme pain in my lower back which I suffered from for 2 weeks! The doctor took his time and patiently explored my back and did the X-ray to find out the reason behind the pain. Well, it was no fun to be in pain and the doctor was very knowledgeable, so I just trusted him. Guess what? Right after the first adjustment I was able to walk better and could actually sleep at night! This doctor does miracles! Bad experience. I have neck and lower back pain. I was told that my insurance only covers one part of my body. After 2 minutes of muscle massage by the machine, he asked me to pick only one part of my body and told me to commit to coming at least 10 times for the part. He didn't do much of a body check and no body adjustments. The whole treatment lasted only for 5 minutes where he just massaged my shoulder and neck. Funny how coming 10xs would help after this 1st experience amounted to nothing. The 1st visit felt like a scam. I was drawn by the reviews but now I don't understand why he has so many positive reviews. Do yourself a favor and find a more caring doctor than someone who is just trying to make big bucks! read more

I've had upper back and neck problems for a few years now. I've been in a few car accidents and work at a desk for the most part -- it's been a while since I had been to a chiropractor. I originally went to a more holistic chiropractor and I had about a 3 year plan when it came to healing/"fixing" my back problems. I found Dr. Chen on ZocDoc -- it was near work and I'm pretty used to going to doctors in Chinatown (I myself grew up in an asian community). The front desk/admin assistant, Emma, is wonderful! I was always greeted with a smile and a "how are you?" which can tend to be rare when visiting a doctor here. Dr. Chen was absolutely professional and for the first time in at least 8 years, I no longer have any back pain whatsoever. If I run into problems, I can do a few exercises that the doctor provided and I'm good again! It's been a few weeks since my visits and I can say that it not only was worth it but totally relieving, something I know I no longer have to deal with in my life. Sounds cheesy, I get it forsure, but when you have severe back and neck pain like I did, it's so impactful to no longer wake up feeling the way I did. Upon reading the reviews, I decided to come here and see for myself how great this doctor truly is. Keep in mind I use to go to another chiropractor and was very pleased with him but I wanted to try a new doctor Yelp community did not let me down. Every positive remark people made about Dr Chen is all true! He is very informative, soft spoken, the wait time is practically non existent, the office is clean. I was suffering with lower back pains for 2 years and was relunctant to go - my insurance does not cover it, it would be out of pocket. I gave up and decided it's time treat this problem. Dr Chen (the chiropractic at Pain Care Chiropractic) has been excellent to work with. He listens carefully, has tremendous skill with chiropractic and is thorough and always respectful. He uses active release technique (ART) to work on muscles also, not just bones, has some state-of-the-art equipment to use when necessary, and also has helped me develop better self-care routines and exercises for rehabilitation. He's helped me recover successfully from serious issues with scoliosis, sciatica, *and* rotator cuff issues. He's certainly one of the very best chiropractors I've been to over the years - many chiropractors I've gone to are one-dimensional or don't get enough accomplished, but Dr Chen does and then some! Additionally, he demonstrates and advises physical training to help strengthen weak areas that are the cause of the structural imbalances. I had my first chiropractic appointment ever with Dr. Chen today and it could not have gone any better than it did. I was experiencing pretty severe mid back pain-he did some tests and took an x-ray and when the results came in, he described exactly what was happening in a way that I could understand. He was very reassuring in his words and explained that the problem was fixable. I was honestly afraid to go to a chiropractor because I'm terrified of the neck/spinal adjustment cracking noises, but Dr. Chen was very patient and assured me of the safety of spinal realignment and even gave me an alternative option that wouldn't make the noise. Toward the end of my appointment, he put a hot pad and "buzzers" on my back for 15 minutes, which left me feeling relaxed and my back felt a little bit better even after my first visit.
