He took his time, ask questions and actually listened. I did not feel rushed but I understood why I had to wait, he take time to really discuss your medical history and what your concerns are. His communication was clear and very informative, it's refreshing to come across a physician that really loves their specialty and not just there to get paid. I feel confident that he is the best neurologist for me and I feel at ease with the process to come, you will find that he is so passionate about what he is explaining that he will become short of breath but I enjoyed seeing that. Dr Thornley is different, in that she approaches the issues from a clinical and wholistic perspective. She takes the time to listen , to offer lifestyle suggestion and complete all necessary testing to determine causation. She has some quirks, she's the sole operator, the office decor is from another time, but the one on one approach is refreshing and the best I have experienced so far. She creates a great deal of trust in her style. My migraines have already improved.

Then I released my begging and desperate pleas for an ASAP appointment - I was enduring a lot of pain and while I did know that I needed to see a Neurologist, I did not know that he would be the ONLY doctor I needed to see. I have seen a number of different medical personnel over the past 3 days, and hardly any of them listened to what I had to say. Dr. Henkel was magnificent. He actually took the time to listen to my description of my painful symptoms and did not dismiss my questions with esoteric explanations, as many other physicians have done. He involved me in his diagnostic thought process as he narrowed the medical possibilities. He took the time to examine the radiological images that I brought with me to the appointment and shared his professional thoughts on the images while allowing me to view them side-by-side. Dr. Henkel treated me like an educated human being, and did not dismiss my concerns at all. Together we were able to discern the particular disorder that I have been enduring for the past several days. In sum, I am grateful to have met Dr. Henkel. Credit is also due to Neurological Specialties personable nursing staff, as my particular nurse was very funny and comforting during the initial data collection process. It was also nice to pay the copay at the END of the visit - many offices are forcing patients to pay the fee before they've even been treated. Neurological Specialities as a whole is an excellent facility.

Veterans who served this country deserved continuity of care and transparency, not sudden disruption and uncertainty. Many patients had established relationships with their doctors for years, only to find themselves scrambling to locate new providers and navigate insurance confusion during an already stressful transition. What makes this even more frustrating is that public statements during the sale process suggested patients would continue to have access to their insurance coverage under the new ownership structure. Yet many patients later experienced uncertainty or loss of access depending on their plan participation and contract negotiations. The bankruptcy itself was tied to massive Medicare billing discrepancies reportedly totaling hundreds of millions of dollars. Unfortunately, it feels like the people who paid the price were the patients -- particularly seniors and veterans who depended on stable healthcare access. Healthcare organizations should prioritize patient care and loyalty during transitions, not leave vulnerable populations feeling discarded. I sincerely hope veterans and affected patients receive the support and continuity of care they deserve moving forward.
