BEWARE !!!! This was my first and hopefully last encounter with a pain management facility. Physicians Assistant ordered the incorrect procedure for me and while I am under the influence of Demerol ... Dr Lee tells me he is going to get rid of the pain in my head. I tell him it's not my head it's my neck. He proceeds to do this procedure anyway. Here I am 3 months later with my head still painfully numb and my neck preparing for surgery. To top it off ... I am now responsible for payment of a procedure that I should not have had. Pain management facilities get a bad rep and now I understand why. Drug addiction is their specialty I gather and patients who legitimately just want help are used as test dummies. DO NOT TRUST THIS FACILITY read more

Update: I went back due to my RA flare getting worse and not stopping. He seemed angry with me and refused to give me anything else. After examining me he saw that I was still in a lot of pain and gave me a shot. Not long after I went to the ER and the doctor said that shot is very outdated and VERY dangerous. The staff and my nurses are still amazing and so kind and caring. I don't know if the doctor was having a bad day or what. I felt like I was a child in trouble. I won't go back. read more

Ugh. Thankfully, I am not in Dr. Mohajer's care. Unfortunately, my brother is. He was in a car accident back in November, and is very limited. He can no longer work, and struggles with pain every day. My brother had an appointment this morning at 930. We arrived around 915. The first waiting room we went in wasn't so full, but this waiting room wasn't the one for us. We were instructed to go down the hall where the "procedure" patients wait. This room appeared smaller, and was packed. There was only one seat available, I let my brother have it while my daughter and I stood in the corner by the door. To my knowledge, we have only paid medical copays with check....sooo....they have accepted a check from us before... Today, they informed us that they are not accepting checks. Only AMEX checks, plastic or cash....interesting. After a few minutes of waiting, a medical assistant comes out and tells us to go to the other room. I, sassily asked "For what?". Seeing as how that room just sent us over to this one! I'm guessing because of their space issue. So, back down the hall we go.....This room filled up as well....very quickly. They had "walk the line" playing on the TV in the waiting room, but my daughter got a little rowdy, and decided to take her out in the hall. Upon walking out, I heard one of the ladies at the front desk say that the doctor was running behind today. Ugh. How long have you known that you've been running behind...? Couldn't you have given us a phone call? While waiting, the staff was delivered fancy coffee drinks. A staff member had a visit from a friend/family member, who she decided to greet in the waiting room with hugs and kisses. While they talked about who's mom they were picking up a trailer from at 5am. Too bad they weren't this nice to us....I would have settled for 1/4 of the kindness. While walking with my daughter, I hear two ladies come out talking about "rescheduling". I walked the hall with my daughter for about 45 minutes when my brother let me know that they were calling him back....so, we waited over an hour for him to be seen. Another hour goes by, and I am retrieved by an assistant telling me that my brother is waking up, coming off of anesthesia. I walk back, and can see that other patients are in the big coush-y chairs provided behind curtains. When they pull the curtains back, my brother is stuck in some rock hard, frail looking wheel chair. So, he's coming off anesthesia, and you leave him alone in this chair that he could topple out of...? Which he almost did, by the way. We were waiting for them to discuss his prescriptions with the doctor...he slanted funny, and almost went face first into the tile. The nurses gave my brother some tea looking juice, and just let us sit there. They gave him an ice pack and another injection of pain medication while we were still waiting on prescriptions. Still waiting... still waiting.....still waiting. Finally, a girl comes back and hands us two pieces of paper. When asked what, what is does and why, she didn't give clear answers. My brother asked if he could be prescribed another medication instead of one that they gave him a script for, which was a C2. She disappears. Comes back, still no solid answers. We wait again. Another assistant comes back and tells us why we were given what we were given. Uhhh, where's the doctor in all this? Shouldn't he be answering and talking to us instead of all you? Well, I found the doctor. At around 1215, when I went to pull up my SUV to the front doors, I saw him (thanks for the picture Yelp!) car keys in hand, with a cup of tea. Nice. The girl dropping off my brother thanks us. She tells us that they were "short staffed" today.... Oh, does that have to do with the DR running behind..? So sad that we have to go through all this in 2 - 3 weeks again. 3 hours makes for a long morning at the doctor's office. read more

I saw Dr. Mohajer for years. He has been nothing but a caring kind doctor. I have been thru surgeries with him. Also shots in my back. He talked with me about back procedures. He put in my back stem for pain. I saw him many years for pain. Not once did he ever treat me wrong. I'm 64 years old and I have seen a lot of Doctors in my life and I would highly recommend him. If I moved back to Las Vegas, I would go see him immediately. No one will ever be so kind, caring and considerate as this doctor. read more

BEWARE"! Several months ago I was referred to a pain "specialist", reason being that I'm on disability on account of lower back problems. The doctor's name is Pouya Mohajer. Up front, this individual has got to be one of the most rudest, condescending, narcissistic a-holes I've ever had the displeasure of meeting. Normally, I'm an easy going person. Keeping that in mind, Mohajer was still impossible to deal with. Upon bringing in some assistant with him, he began prodding me, searching for pain. When I explained to him it has to do with an injured lower back problem he soon discovered the three back braises on my lower back. He then asked, in a very arrogant manner, "Why are you wearing these things for"? I answered, "Umm, because of my disability concerning lower back problems." He then continued to probe my body, "warning" me that he's a busy man. And I have to be absolutely serious about keeping my appointments with him. Or else I can go and see someone else. Even with that I decided to make a follow-up appointment with this man. To add injury to insult, I requested that I get a refill on my pain meds. After "lecturing" me as to why I don't need this medication, he then "reluctantly" wrote me a refill. It wasn't until sometime later where I realized that he cut the MG, of the medication, in half. Now mind you, I'm a responsible adult who doesn't abuse my medication. And now, with big brother, monitoring this medication month to month, there's no way I could abuse this even if I were the type to do so. I have no history of any kind of addiction, and no criminal record. I'm as straight up as they come. And yet this person, who was pretending to be a pain specialist, treated me as though I were a child needing a lollypop. Well, leave it to say that soon after, I called his office, and spoke to one of the nurses. I explained that I was canceling any future appointments, explaining just how awful this Mohajer character treated me. So she forced an apology, canceling out my next appointment. And I'm thinking, "Well, that's that." However, it wasn't until a few weeks later that I received a letter from their office, telling me "why" they cannot treat me anymore??? And to add insult to injury once more, my first and last name was typed with the tiniest letters, on top of the page. So tiny, in fact, that I needed a magnifying glass in order to make it out. And although I have no proof as to if whether or not this was intentional, I personally believe it was. So, in closing, I hope this warning comes to "anyone"; male or female, who plans on seeing this quack. Oh, and "Mr." Mohajer, if you're reading this, (*which I hope you are*) your bedside manner really "sucks". I hope you'll improve on it. This doctor told me to deal with my osteoarthritis pain bone on bone hip. I also have it in my spine and both knees. Injections can only be given so many times. Everybody does not abuse pain meds. The government monitors each visit for new refills and they can check your urine to find if your are abusing meds. You have to be seen refills. My generation will have to suffer from pain. I have been a patient for over 5 years, and have always found Dr Mohajer to be a caring and kind physician. I have had procedures done by him and they are always helpful. I am very sensitive to medication, and most pain meds turn me into a non-functioning zombie - He has helped me to find a balance between meds to manage my pain while not affect my ability to function. He doesn't want to turn his patients into addicts. Everyone in the office have always been nothing but polite and efficient. I do not get why negative comments, i have been going to Dr. Mohajer for over a year now. I am satisfied with his work! I have had many procedures on my back and neck from him and he is better than a couple of other places I went to. As for his office help they have always been very friendly and nice every time I have been there. There is procedures and guidelines they have to follow today from Insurance to laws. Most of the time he is booked 2 weeks out and that is the soonest they can get you in unless there is a cancellation. One a appointment is cancelled most ins. companies have a deadline on their referrals and they have to be resubmitted, He is the professional and has the experience to know what procedure you may benefit from the most. Not all procedures you will benefit from. Sometimes the procedure may not last a long time but this is all the process before you may have to go for surgery or just to see what works best for you! It is all temporary, Pain Management is just that, to help you manage whatever pain you maybe having. I totally trust this Dr.! And I think he is awesome!! Primmed Pain Management is the name of the business, never saw any doctor. Had appointment for 10:30 AM arrived before 10:00 AM, receptionist on her personal phone, 2 people trying to check out utter confusion. Receptionist immediately gave me cloth mask and Covid form to complete, Not one employee that I saw had a mask on. I explained to her I had a problem finding them at 5741 S Ft Apache #120 since the referral form from United Healthcare showed their address at 8475 S Eastern (which she said it had been closed for about 2 years because of Covid) I proceeded to tell her when I called to set up appointment the lady I was talking to made no mention they were not at the address on my referral form which she said she had a copy of. The receptionist got upset, said the "Team" is trained so as to make no mistakes, I said well someone did, she said no they didn't you are mistaken, I said are you calling me a liar, she said something about "you have to be". I felt compelled to ask for the office manager, this woman came out said she was the "Team Manager" wanted to know what all the commotion was about , I said there is no commotion I said your employee just called me a liar and I thought maybe someone in management might want to know how their employees was treating their patients. The manger identified herself as Kenya ( not sure of spelling) she said she couldn't stand for patients making a scene and commotion with her employees as there is no way the lady who made the appointment on the phone would not have informed me of there change of location, I said no she didn't and I was not making a scene or any commotion just then a nurse came up behind me and said doctor will see you now, we went into another office that that had little cubicles which the nurse sat me in one. No sooner had the nurse stepped out, the door flew open in stepped Kenya (or whatever her name really is) with another rather large looking female and said " the doctor will not see you, you must leave now". As I stepped out of the cubicle it looked as though she had gathered as many people she could to see her put on a show to impress her fellow employees, I told her she had been watching too many bad movies and I was sorry I hadn't brought my cellphone in so I could have recorded this entire fiasco...I left, I have been to numerous doctors over my 85 years in many parts of the country and have never been treated in this manner. Obviously, I must assume other patients have been treated this way for absolutely no reason, the doctors must be aware of the poor quality of their office employees. this is the worst doctor in Las Vegas and thats saying something since there are a lot of bad doctors out here.. but he is the worst of them all... Don't expect pain meds.. I've seen him about 5 times and i get a lecture about pain pills every time and he drops my dosage every time... guess what i have a herniated disc.. I waited almost a month for him to come out to Pahrump, then found out they changed my appt time without telling me. Then they blamed me for not coming at the new time. I saw him a few years ago and didn't care for him them, but he's the only pain management doctor that comes out to Pahrump right now. After this, I won't bother going back. It's better to drive to Vegas. If the staff at that careless and uncaring then I can only imagine how they must handle the medical equipment and environment. I guarantee they will submit a bill for my appointment even though they never saw me. I wonder how many other people they have done this to, although based on the reviews it looks pretty common :( They have a real racket going on, at least with their Medicare patients. Where can I even begin? Dr. Mohajer and his team of professionals have continuously saved my life for well over 3 years now. I have been in varying levels of pain for about 15 years since 2005 being rear ended by a distracted driver traveling at high speed (over 50mph by her own admission and proven by my skid marks measured by police) while I was totally stopped at a traffic light in my 82' Chevy heavy half ton long bed pickup. Basically, I got whipped like a ragdoll. Due to the adrenaline at the time, I had no idea how very seriously I had been injured at the time. Even after going through 3 radical spine surgeries starting in 09', that failed to resolve my pain long term, the damage and pain has finally disabled me. In 2015, I made the mistake of undergoing weight loss surgery/gastric sleevectomy (see my related reviews)thinking it would take pressure off my low back. Afterwards, I made the startling discovery, I could no longer properly absorb oral meds or even nutrients hardly at all. The pain went out of control. Finally, after seeing the in house pain doc with my HMO coop Southwest Medical and being treated like I was just a junkie looking for drugs, totally frustrated, I decided I was going to stop taking the narcotics and use cannabis. A week later, I had a massive heart attack and nearly died. I spent 8 days in the hospital with no memory of the first 24-48 hrs. They put me right back on morphine, giving me bolus doses every 4 hours in my IV and for the first time since 2005, I was nearly pain free, this was unbelievable especially with how badly I had suffered since the gastric sleeve surgery. I  was then referred to Dr. Mohajer for long term pain mngmt. With the support of my mother, Dr. Mohajer took the time to listen to this story and had the guts to treat my life threatening pain aggressively against the backdrop of unbelievably stupid, ignorant and useless legislative change in effort to stop this so-called opioid epidemic. He realized I was brutally honest and for the first time in my life I was prescribed fentanyl patches. Which while it came nowhere remotely close to stopping my pain, but it made what I was absorbing of my oral meds more effective and we were able to get my pain under control. He worked with me trying every other possible treatment from injections, spinal nerve root ablation, even a pain pump trial, meanwhile I was trying everything else I could do from active release massage, float therapy, acupuncture and more to help my mind exploding with pain. At the end of the day, nothing came close to being as effective as the relief I got from proper use of pharmaceutical assistance under the strong supervision of Dr. Mohajer. He proved to be the most intelligent and empathetic pain doctor I had ever seen which was exactly what I needed to save my life again, especially when I was diagnosed with the rare genetic Wilson's disease. Dr. Mohajer, oversaw my treatment process and he and his staff supported me throughout. Between him and his former APRN Claudine Cruz (who recently left the practice to work with Cancer patients to which I'm beyond positive that she will bring so much knowledge, experience and empathetic treatment to it couldn't be put into words), Garielle Martinez and most especially and recently Patricia Ganja have been angels to me in my very greatest time of need after having the neck ADR failed and is frozen into a solid column of self fused bone which is constantly pressing on my arm nerves and causing numbness going into my hands, the failed 360 fusion that required removal of the pedicle screws and rods as they had begun backing out. No surgeon will touch me at this point even Dr. Dunn as he and several other Ortho and neuro surgeons say I'm inoperable, no longer a candidate for further surgery but I'm still in so much pain, that going off the meds caused a heart attack. Everyone in Dr. M's office has been beyond exceptional, has treated me better than even a lot of my own family and they literally have given me a quality of life I would never otherwise have now. They have allowed me to get regular, proper sleep and see my niece be brought into this world and be a part of the beautiful baby girl's life. I wouldn't have made it this far physically or psychologically without his team of amazing and empathetic people that see my pain and are willing to do what is needed to help me keep it under control because they can see how much greatness they do in my life that I would never otherwise have and there are not words to thank them enough to keep my life worth living. Literally an answer to prayer. I strongly believe God works through Dr. Mohajer and his APRNs. I have been a patient of Dr. Mohajer's for 13 years. I have a rare genetic abnormality which keeps me from metabolizing serious toxins. My hands and feet burn constantly. He's has been my primary care provider while learning to deal with this level of pain. Dr. Mohajer is a truly amazing individual and the best doctor I've had. read more

Clearly with the amount of prescription pain medicine abuse and the scrutiny that pain management physicians are under because of this epidemic I was skeptical about the type of care I'd receive when I was referred to Dr. Mohajer last year. It's not uncommon that Doctors often make patients with real needs for pain medications feel as if they are criminals. Understand that the Doctors have a great deal of responsibility to ensure that each patient is treated properly while weeding out the patients who are there under false pretenses. Knowing this should allow you to find some patience and understanding while he obtains your history and seeks the best way to help you. I know that's easier said than done especially when you're in pain. But it's crucial if you want a Doctor who will stick with you for your long term treatment. My first visit was much like I've described. I kept reminding myself that he was starting fresh with me and had very limited information about my past care. Regardless of what documentation I brought with me it was gonna take some time for him to request and gather records from all my past providers and it wouldn't be fair for me to expect him to just give me what I thought I needed without him having time to learn and gain knowledge of my history and devise his own ideas of whats best for me. So my first visit he was professional and interested in obtaining my records for future visits instead of vague and happy go lucky which some people mistake for having bad bedside manners. He kept my medicine the same and added something he thought might benefit me then said he'd start reducing my meds by 5 pills a month and adding therapy. This is when most people would say he's a bad doctor unfairly. My second visit a month later showed a total change in his personality as he was armed with more records and decided to keep my meds the same without reducing them. I felt like he was working with my oncologist and primary care doc in sync and sent me for some MRI's which helped discover a much more serious problem related to my cancer. Since then he's played an important role in my overall treatment and now continues to show compassion and keep me comfortable as I battle with Lymphoma. read more

I was very alarmed when I read all the reviews. I still went into the office and I was surprised. I had to wait a little bit but not too long and they updated me every few minutes. I clearly understand that my first response if someone cut my pain meds down would be anger, but after a while I am sooooo much happier. Less groggy. Can do my daily activities. Etc. Horrible staff and office they never pick up the phone. If you come 10 mins late because of car trouble they can't pick up the phone to reschedule an appointment or see you the same day. I waited on the doctor for over and hour before.If you have a prior authorization forget that it will take one week minimum for the staff or doctor to get it handled. Pain is such a constant in my life, it's nice to know I have a Doctor with my best interests in mind. Zero rating Dr. Mohajer is the worst ever in 25 yrs living here I went to him because of an Insurance referral and regret it two visit just because I give anybody the benefit of doubt maybe he had a bad day nope. On the first visit I was questioned like I did something or was just wanting drugs I provided him and his office with all the past medical records and letter of discharge from last Doctor of over 3yrs. But I understand nature of things in general so they get a jaded opinion because of some. Then Dr Mohajer with not so much as a hello informs me I can,t get my normal prescriptions because he feels I shouldn't be taking them and he's going to lower the dose on the pain one he will give me and tells me I'm giving you a different script for another. He then starts on recommending injections and such. I had injections done before my first surgery they made it worse I don't want to go thru it again. I've had a Fusion surgery, stimulator implant and then a year later the implant failed and was removed 12/2015. Tells me the previous doctors and Nero surgeon didn't know which pain medications to give me. (Really so your saying they were stupid) Can anyone say God complex.. Next visit was worse than first staff seems lost as ever. Dr. Mohajer comes in asks how the new medication is and when I tell him it's not working as well and the side effects make me dizzy, groggy and unable to function within reason his awnser was don't take them during the day and take twice as much at night so your sleeping through it. But he won't go back to the one that was working his words were pick your poison you can have less and do it my way or no pain medications and the one for muscle spasms. If you don't like it your an Audlt go seek medical help else were find a different Doctor. So I'm taking the only good advise he gave me and going elsewhere. Im sure I can find a good Doctor that cares and listens to his patients with compassion. I've never received such thorough and compassionate care that I have at Southern Nevada Pain Specialists. The entire staff has always been courteous and gone out of their way to assist me with my pain and working with my team of other doctors to provide me with treatment plans that are specific to my personal needs. Having cancer makes it difficult for a pain management doctor to find ways that alleviate your discomfort while finding new and innovative ways to help you understand your options. For me I've had nothing but good experiences on my visits and truly believe that Dr. Mohajer and his staff work hard to keep up with my diagnosis and prognosis. They have slowly increased my medications and made me aware of every type of treatment that I might want to consider. These type of doctors are usually under a large amount of scrutiny because of the opiate epidemic in our country. So clearly they take great precaution when it comes to treating injuries and those who are expected to have shorter term pain. As a Cancer patient I've been humiliated by other doctors that have undermined my level of pain as if they didn't believe that a person who had Stage 3B blood cancer with no cure could possibly have as much pain as I do. The fact that my immune system is shot out because I have lymphoma makes it impossible for him to treat my old injuries so medication management is one of my only options. After getting the runaround by their very rude staff I had my first epidural injection 0 pain relief complete waste of time. Called to change the follow up no return phone call then when I finally got through to the office and ask for a morning appointment the very rude receptionist kept putting me out two weeks at a time and every time I said no I need a morning not in the afternoon two more weeks out finally got an appointment one month later and saw the PA very nice lady but didn't get to tell the doctor of the useless injections that gave no relief. Now physical therapy referred to the doctor an in-home decompression device called for 2 weeks straight five different times I left a message and they never return my phone calls, until the day before my second scheduled appointment and when I brought this to their attention they had no idea that this was going on asked for the phone number for the physical therapy. I called physical therapy and they faxed it to them twice. Total in competence total lack of caring. with all the bad Yelp on here you would think that the doctor would try to do something to correct this problem but apparently he is unaware or he doesn't care they don't care I will be seeking another doctor. read more

I was in serious pain last year from three vertebrae pushing on my sciatic nerve. I have a high pain tolerance but this episode was unbelievably bad. My regular doctor recommended Dr. Mohajer and arranged for me to be seen right away. Thank goodness! After reviewing my history and looking at my MRI, he suggested the epidural shots and asked when I would be interested in getting the procedure. When I said, "Tomorrow!" he agreed and fit me in the schedule. With that procedure, and a follow-up two weeks later, I have been functioning and living my life normally. I have a chronic problem and pain does recur, but each time, Dr. M takes care of my issues. read more

This was a horrible visit. Dr Mohajer was not at all understanding or caring. He was like a dictator. He told me want he was going to do was injections. This is america i should have to say on what treatment i want. I quess he doesn't make as much money with meds refills as injections. read more

After suffering with constant pain in shoulder I saw Dr. Mohajer and now I have relief from the constant pain without having to take any pain pills. The staff is friendly and courteous and my appointment was on time, without additional waiting. read more

great doctor, had not slept in weeks for pain gave me new meds and pain has diminished so I can sleep. I had injections by him and was pain free for 2 1/2 years he hit the correct spot which I've heard is often not effective if missed! read more

After explaining I'm in terrible pain, the soonest they could get me in, (as a repeat patient!) was 6 weeks!! Nonetheless, I set an apt for 6 weeks out at 4:30 pm. Upon arrival, the receptionist stated they cancelled my apt because it had been put into their system for 4 pm! Seriously?? And the best she could do is reschedule me for 3 weeks out! They wasted my time and have caused a serious inconvenience to me. Yet, it is their complete LACK of concern that won them this blog. Since I have to GAMBLE on if my apt can get scheduled correctly three weeks from now, I'll take my chances elsewhere. If you are in pain, don't go here. read more

Perhaps the most disappointing medical experience of my life. Dr. Mohajer's assistant rushed me, wouldn't look me in the eye, and was very unprofessional. He was rude, impatient and not one bit compassionate. I am a former patient who had an injection from him in the past. Came back to him as a last resort because I wanted to discuss pain management options such as surgical procedures, devices, etc. - anything but pills. He would NOT listen to me, said I could go somewhere else when I didn't understand why he insisted that I obtain MRI's before he would speak with me about treatment. He also implied that I was there just to receive pills, which was the last thing I wanted. HORRIFIC experience - awful doctor. Will never return to this office. $60.00 down the drain for a few brief minutes of being treated terribly. read more
