Says it opens at 10 am, it wasn't open. If you say 10 am on website and on the door, open at 10 am or update your hours. We decided when back in the area we would try again as we had a group with several children who wanted to paint. It was now open and she admitted to us that during slow season there is no hurry to get in. What? Really? Everything is priced a bit high to paint. The lady who was there was NOT very nice. There was definitely an attitude going on. I didn't read previous reviews that stated this. I wish I had. We were told that the finished pottery would be done by the end of the week. 5 days or longer to get our items? Don't they realize people generally don't stay on vacation for months in a row. They should state that right in front that the wait time to get completed items is VERY long. The only positive thing we encountered were the cute cats that live in the store. read more

If I could leave 0 starts I would. Absolutely worst experience from beginning to end with the WORST customer service I have ever experienced. If you want to pay to get treated like garbage, this is the place for you! They don't open their doors with the hours they have listed. So if you show up at 10:00 when they open their doors, you will be lucky to get in at 11:00. They will give you the wrong pottery and then have an attitude. They will not return phone calls or give you a refund even if they were in the wrong. What was supposed to be a wonderful time for my daughters 10th birthday, turned into me begging to get little girls pottery, the correct pottery. She gave me 3 pieces of pottery that didn't even belong to us. Wouldn't answer the phone and then blocked me from being able to reach out. I wouldn't send my worst enemy here. This is an awesome place to visit. It's a ton of fun for toddlers to adults of all ages. I would highly recommend Paint It Pottery to everyone that's visiting the Wisconsin Dells area. It's great rainy day thing to do or if you just need a relaxing brake from the water parks. The cool thing is they ship all your pieces home so you don't have to worry about traveling with them. Had a fantastic time here! it is definitely pricey but well worth it. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and the owner was very pleasant to chat with and helpful. There's a variety of things you can choose to pain, but it's mostly dishes and mugs, vases. There are animals as well. Even if you've never painted pottery before everything is explained and the staff is more than happy to answer questions. I definitely wouldn't mind coming back sometime. read more

Okay I only have one bad thing to say, and it's an opinion only, so let's get it out of the way. This place is expensive. I initially wanted to do a tea for one set but it's $30! You can buy a professionally finished one for like $15. So the price of the unpainted stuff, plus a "studio fee", makes this an expensive activity. Also, why is the studio fee less for kids? Do kids' stuff glaze at a lower temperature? Are kids somehow better at conserving paint than adults? Are they less messy and easier to clean up after than us? I doubt it. Okay, cost aside, this place is great. The staff, April and another woman, are really nice and clearly experienced. They have a lot of finishing tools beyond paintbrushes and they know how to use them. April is really patient (though I'm sure she has to give the same speech a dozen times a day) and is good with kids. The place is clean, impeccably tidy, spacious, and AIR CONDITIONED. The glaze came out nice and the colors are vibrant. Sure, they have magnets that you can paint for $1 (on top of the $8 studio fee of course), but how many adults want a magnet? We want something useful; a keepsake. If they lowered the prices on some stuff i'd come back much more often. Oh this place has wifi. loved it! the kids had a great time. the staff was very nice and helpful. they let us help our little guys paint their items and didnt charge us as other places have done as soon as we had our hands on the brushes. i love my new coffee mug and will gladly recommend this place. our little guy was a bit young, but our 4 year old did great. read more

This was a fabulous experience and I HIGHLY recommend it!!!! However, please keep in mind a few things like the ages and activity levels of your kids and the prices. Here is my full review: My 11 year-old daughter wanted to do the whole paint-your-own-pottery thing. I was VERY reluctant. However, I sucked it up because I really wanted to spend some quality time with her. I'm glad I did. We walked in to the very clean shop. It had a nice atmosphere and plenty of space to work. Randy, one of the owners, greeted us. Even though it was after 4:30 and they closed at 6:00, we were welcomed to go ahead and paint. He walked us through our steps, which began with choosing our pieces. As another review mentioned, this is a pretty pricey activitiy. At least it was sort of high for us, but we are on a tight budget (and Wisconsin Dells is not the place to go to save money.) My daughter and I decided to make mugs which we could actually use and cherish. They were about $10 each. (I think they were $9.90, not sure.) There is also a studio fee. I think you can look up the details of the cost. Randy then showed us how to choose brushes, paints, sponges, stencils, transfer paper, ceramic add-ons and all kinds of other stuff. We sat down and painted. It was really nice to just chillax next to my kid and chat between stretches of silence. I was pretty nervous about the time, but Randy assured me we wouldn't have to rush. Our pieces turned out great! We had them shipped and even though we didn't finish until about 7:00 Sunday evening, here it is at 3:30 on Wednesday and we have our mugs in hand. Thanks! read more

Me and my husband went there and had a wonderful time! they were very friendly and explained everything clearly cause it was our first time. i did an ice-cream cone and my husband did a pinguin pencil holder. very nice way to build memories! by he way they have loyalty cards which can get you a discount in the future plus they have nice selection on sale. we spent 60 $ but the experience was great! definitely coming back! read more

Loved this place for an indoor activity with the family! We all had fun picking out our pieces to paint. Only downfall is that the pottery that needs to be painted/ glazed is pretty pricey. We spent about $90 for 4 USEFUL items to paint. Overall a great experience, and may consider doing this again/ read more

They charge an $8 fee per person plus what ever piece you buy to paint. Most items cost $14 to $20 each. The paint and brushes are supplied. You paint your item, and you can pick it up the next day because they add a gloss to it that makes it look fantastic. I had a blast here. The young man that works there - I think his name is Cameron - was awesome. His sister, who owns the place, is a witch (replace the W with a B). No sense of customer service. It was fun, we liked painting when Cameron was there. But we haven't received our pottery yet. When I called to ask about it because it's been 3 weeks she said they had to order boxes - they had nothing to ship in. What the hell? Isn't this a critical part of your business. I asked her why she didn't just go get some... she said because they don't have a store that sells boxes in their small town. Whatever... they have a huge, damn Walmart and tons of places that have boxes. Stupidest thing ever. On top of it all she was just plain rude, had no sense of customer service, barely apologized once and I think it was painful for her. She does not deserve your business. I should note that I am pretty tolerant - people might just be having a bad day. But it's hard to express how horrible she was. Great time--we spent 4 hours painting pottery. The girl behind the counter was so nice and helpful. We actually took a break and went to lunch and came back to finish. Not sure they would be willing to allow you to do this in the summer. I imagine it is busy. We also used a coupon from the entertainment book. They also shipped our items to us in 3 days.
