If you are interested in a positive experience with good, attentive customer service then PAINT is not the place for you. They have zero customer service. Every month I set an appointment with a specific nail tech and every single month they move it to another tech. At first I smiled and say oh you guys keep switching me - I really like my tech please keep me with her. This most recent month (after canceling my nail tech 2x in a row) they once again moved my nail tech. When I called to inquire they told me another client was locked into the tech I wanted. I asked how that was even possible -- as I scheduled with them. They just kept telling me the client is locked in. The client is locked (even though I have told them over and over and over that I am "locked in." MY last appointment I got a call that my tech would out -- so I rescheduled with another tech (same day). I get there and magically my nail tech was there (doing another client). I asked the front desk person so "sweetly" and she told me ohhh she must had re-added time onto her scheduled. They did not even think to call me and put me back on her books -- just let me show up and see her there (I also do not believe she put time back on her books). They always run late. My last appointment, they CALLED me -- asked me to go 30 minutes early -- I said sure no problem. I came 30 minutes early and they started my service almost 20 minutes late. No apology. No sorry we asked you to come early. If you want a fun experience and good customer service avoid this business. I just called the salon to cancel my passport (through which I've spent more than 1500 at Paint in the last year) -- and informed that I would no longer refer to them and they told me they don't need any new clients! Very disappointed. I had an appointment on October 7th, 2025, the day before I was leaving for 2 weeks on vacation. I had been a faithful customer to a Paint in Florida where my nails were always amazing. I expected the same here, but walked out with thick, chunky nails, bumps of "sculptured gel" bulging out the sides. It was horrible. The nail tech was saying that sculptured gel is hard to work with, and a front desk person told me my tech "had years of experience". They said they would reach out to me when I posted a similar review on Google, but I never heard from them again. I would not recommend this location at all. read more

First time going yesterday! Was welcomed as soon as I walked in the door, and was immediately taken care of. Was asked if I wanted something to drink before I even saw my nail tech! I had Stephanie and she was awesome! I showed her an inspo picture and we talked it out and she recommended what she thought would look good and they came out better than expected! This was my first time doing gelX with extensions and she explained what she was doing as she was doing it to make me feel more comfortable. All the girls were so friendly! I can really comment on the quality of the service I received. Why??? Because I did not receive any service. arrived for my 2:20 appointment at 2:08. I picked out my color and waited. I waited patiently, while other clients who completed their service left, and still I was not called. I even waited while other clients were called back to start their service, who arrived after me. Over waiting I left at 2:45. I was scheduled to get a basic manicure, which, if it had started at my appointment time, should have been about to wrap up by the time I left. I've now been 4 times and would continue to go back. Appointment scheduling is very easy online and in person. Prices are very reasonable for what you get. I've never been rushed to pick a color nor through the service. I've tested out pretty much all Huntersville nail salons in the area and yet I haven't looked back since changing to PAINT. The store was clean and organized. There was jewelry, candles and clothes which made it feel boutique but in a simplistic way. My nails are naturally brittle so I appreciated the amount of layers of base, color and top coats because I know they won't be breaking. I've been coming here for years and I'm shocked by the negative reviews. However, my experience has been different. I've always been treated nicely, no matter how long I go without coming- when I do come in Nicole remembers me. If she's acting (and I get it,lol) I wouldn't know it. I wanted to share that I was involved in a bad car accident this year and it was taking a toll on my family but especially my 3 year old daughter. I shared this with Nicole and I asked if I could book an appointment for her and her Dad to just have time together while I was down. I'm not kidding, they were able to service them both that same day. When I checked my receipt for the balance...it was $0. Wow! I love this place! My services have been great and accommodating. Even when they work on my daughter (children can be annoying, mine is no different) I trust them to care for her and they are always so nice. The beverages? Yasssss! But the merchandise...the merchandise is wear its at! I don't have a "go-to-girl" because no matter who is doing my nails, they've always taken good care of me. This place did the bare minimum when it came to my mani/pedi. They didn't even dip my feet in water! No massage, no lotion, no scrub down-nothing that you get in other places when you get a simple mani/pedi. On top of that it is so expensive. So not only are you paying an exorbitant amount of money for a simple service but you're paying more for less! Yeah I think I'll stick with other salons that give you more bang for your buck. I have been getting my nails done in and around the city of Charlotte for years and today I had the most AMAZING experience that I just have to tell you about it. My daughter went to this place a couple of times and told me about how pleasant her experience was and I thought "that's nice but it is just too far for me." I saw her nails and was envious. What she had done was just so elegant and beautiful but still I thought, "too far." So I continued to go to my local shop in South Charlotte but then I moved. I moved to the Belmont area and found a shop not too far from my house. It was called Elite Nail and was located in a strip mall and so I ran in at lunch. No one greeted me for several minutes and when they did there were a series of grunts and motions and it felt so uninviting I walked out and went back to work. The next shop I found was in a different strip mall and was a bit more difficult to find even with my maps. When I finally found it I stepped inside and was immediately hit with the harsh odor of acrylic nails. Although it really stank inside the shop, I really needed my nails done. As I waited I contemplated just how long it might take for all of us patrons to develop some horrible malady from breathing all of these toxic fumes. Just as I contemplated leaving someone motioned for me to come over to their booth. I had selected my color from the color wheels in the basket and I have to say that the selection was very slim. The conversation in the shop was surprisingly very lively which I very much appreciated but in the end that was the high point of my time there. The nails looked okay in the dimly lit interior lighting but once I got in my car I could see that the work was simply sub par. I knew that I was never going to return to that shop again. Now my daughter is getting married in a few days, yes CONGRATULATIONS are in order! She decided to have a girl's day at her favorite salon and made appointments for a bunch of us to try her new favorite place Paint in Birkdale Village. The experience here was V-E-R-Y different than all of the other shops I have been to in Charlotte. First and foremost all of the staff speak English very well so there are no language barriers for misunderstanding. Additionally, there are no uncomfortable side conversations going on where patrons are feeling self conscious and awkward. Upon arrival the front desk staff is friendly, smiling and warmly greeting all guests. They only work by appointment so no need to try walking in but if you have an appointment they are ready and waiting on your arrival. The staff is knowledgeable and kind. They use quality products with attention to detail. When I left, my feet felt like new feet even though I regularly got pedicures at all of the other places, they were never like this one. I truly enjoyed my experience and although they are pricey, it is WELL WORTH the money. I cannot wait to go back! read more

I went in here and asked about getting an appointment. The woman behind the desk looked me up-and-down, smirked and rudely told me told me "we don't take walk-ins". She did not suggest I go online, nor did she offer to help me further. She made it extremely clear to me that I was not the kind of clientele she wanted in her establishment. The irony of all of it is that I live in an extremely well off household who could easily afford to have my nails done here. I go at minimum once a month. I went to Paint for the first time today since my move to the Huntersville area. I have been looking for a luxury nail salon like I was use to uptown Charlotte. Paint actually exceeded my expectations. Definitely my new favorite salon!!! Due to COVID-19 - Upon being greeted, there was a station to sanitize your phone and other items you need to touch while in the salon. Then, you wash your hands (in the most adorable bathroom ever). All employees were wearing masks and the salon is immaculately clean. Melyssa was my nail tech, and I highly recommend her! Not only was she very skilled and precise with my nails, but we also had the best conversation. Super sweet and funny! I was also extremely impressed that the owner came up to introduce herself and was very engaged in learning about her clients story. It shows that the salon is under great ownership and management. The attention to the tiny details speaks volumes!!!!! I am very pleased with not only my nails, but the overall service of the salon. I have been here around 5 times, trying various manicures and different manicurists and would give each experience an A. The salon is very clean, the manicurists are very professional and friendly. Prices are reasonable for level of service and product. The reason I would rate 3 stars is the front desk interactions, I think it's mostly the owner working the desk so unfortunately I do not think we can look for that situation to improve. I did a little research into this place before coming and was a little skeptical I might be judged for not fitting in with higher-end clientele. I could not have been more wrong! Anyone that visits this place regularly knows they are always booked up weeks in advance and in the unfortunate event you have to reschedule (because let's be honest, we all want to be pampered but life happens), the owner busts her butt trying to help get you back on the schedule as soon as possible. On top of that, I have noticed something every time I come in. Whenever she is helping a customer, she gives them her full, undivided attention. Came in for a pedicure and left a new man! Got there a little early and was offered a beer or bourbon which I gladly obliged. They took me on time for my Uptown Guy pedicure -- it was great! She then offered me a polish selections told me a little about them and recommended popular choices . Followed by Prosecco with my choice of juice which was delicious . Just came for my first time. Had to book a "likety split" pedi because there was nothing else available. Really good environment with nice chairs, bowls, and lighting. The woman who did my pedi was kind, but messed up and turned a 30 min service into 50. When I asked to check out as I dried she said she couldn't help me with that. I had an appt that I had made the last time (owner made it, it was not online) I was here to do a pedicure. Drive 30 minutes to get to appointment only to been told they had been texting me as they hadn't received confirmation. I had received a reminder email which I showed them but no calls or texts. They had my number wrong, not even the correct area code. I travel for work and when I make an appt, I expect to receive the service. They charge if I don't show up so they are getting paid either way. I don't understand this business practice and I don't get this time back. What an inconvenience and poor customer service! The pedicure services are wonderful but policy and processes should change regarding appointments so customers who show up as planned and allotted an appointment are leaving without service and frustrated! read more

I was looking for a nail service based on several preferences of mine: sterile equipment, nice environment and quality natural manicure. Today I have tried the manicure: I wanted a basic one to see if I like the place and to also accommodate my currently short nails. As I walked in, I felt welcome. The space is modern and bright, I was greeted right away and was able to get seated very quickly. (Now I have to point out this place takes appointments. They do not recommend to just walk in but I did since it was not a week-end and it did not look crowded, I decided to try.) I enjoyed the manicure, I was facing a large window, my technician was very nice and gentle on my dry hands. I was offered water and appreciated a paper straw in the glass. As a fellow cosmetologist, I appreciate that they medically sterilize everything as some nail salons don't. When we first booked the appointment I was a little surprised that they take your credit card and if you don't show up or cancel, you will be charged for your service. If you are late the time will be taken out of your appointment time. But, after being able to go there on a Saturday afternoon and get right in was absolutely wonderful! The lady who gave me a pedi was very nice and took her time. The foot massage was wonderful! I've dreaded getting my nails done until I found Paint!! At Paint you are welcomed in person and offered a drink from a wide selection. Then your wonderful nail tech (I LOVE Paula) brings you back to a luxurious spa atmosphere. The polishes have been so much better for my nails as they don't have those harsh chemicals plus they DON'T remove the gel with a drill!! I've been a little hard on them a few times and needed a "fix" a few days (within 10 days) after getting them done. No worries!! Just call!! They will fix it for free!! The other places that charge the exact same price don't guarantee anything. This is not your average nail salon so don't expect to just walk in. Make an appointment online or call. The customer service is impeccable here!! But if you like those giant massage chairs that end up bruising your back and like to feel rushed out the door- don't come here!!
