Attended Paint Nite for the first time last week. I am not an artist but we all painted an autumn…read moretree. I CAME OUT GREAT with the instructions of the teacher (forgot her name). We used a Groupon which made it more affordable for me.

Last week my wife and I attended "Paint Nights" and thought we would share our experience …read more First off we would like to say it was a terrible experience-not at all a "fun" night. We found the instructors to be very un-professional-w/ the instructors drinking lots of beer and one behaving very intoxicated.. using foul language,(four letter words) The music was extremely loud annoying/ and thus made painting very difficult to concentrate on. We found instructors lacked knowledge of painting a simple image.. .there was no quality art materials. We had the use on only three very washed out hard brushes./very poor quality In the past two years have attended several classes at the MUSE painting night (a competitor) . Most folks serious about there art will find the Muse a more pleasant and knowledgeable experience --lots of colors of paint to choose from and clean soft brushes-- , great instructors, they even have a blower to dry the acrylic paint during the break...At Paint Night we had the use of only three colors (black, white and red) --that was it! .. Sorry to say we couldn't wait to leave (due to distracting and loud music and general behavior of the instructors. As much as we love to attend these type of events -this will be the last time we will attend Paint Nite at the Brass Monkey (Allens ave). Please note we are not affiliated with any art organization--and simply love painting. My advise is do some research before you attend any paint night...

Not only is it very visually pleasing to see everything color-coded, but it's so easy to find what you need through this system. The shop owner is so kind and helpful. On our way up to Boston we stopped by Bead Chroma (not Chroma Bead? Fair enough.) Well it's a real treat. Huge selection of beads. Really incredible. Beads as far as the eye can see. Arranged by color. So many colors. All of them really Hence the name Bead Chroma. Because chroma means color. I mean sort of. Not to get tied up in the name but it reminds me of those restaurants where you know the owners speak English as a second language and they've googled the word for delicious and ended up with a restaurant called Gratifying Noodle Shack. But very nice store. Well organized. Easy to navigate. Easy to figure out pricing. Lots of findings. No problem finding them (this is actually a coincidence, but a happy one). The woman at the counter very helpful and knowledgeable. There is a little table in the back where people can work on projects and she is available to help. Some high school girls came in at 4:45 and wanted to make bracelets (store closes at 5. Kids am I right? ) she was not able to accommodate them in the store but helped them find everything they needed. This led to a long discussion of the Dana Carvey movie, "Master of Disguise". Quite an old movie for a high school student to be watching. She was a fan. They also have samples that you can purchase or use for inspiration. And a little gallery up front. They had a bowl where you can scoop out a whole scoop of random beads. I was really into this idea. My wife would not have it. She never lets me make earrings. Except one time. Other than that not a fan of my aesthetic. Anyways. Check out Brad Chroma. As a store it is hard to bead. That's a joke. It's fairly straightforward.

If that aspect of the business isn't specifically advertised, it can be a bit off putting for someone who doesn't know what they're walking into. Our biggest issue stems from that fact that this place took pictures of my children and put them on their social media. My wife reached out via chat on Instagram and was ignored. My wife called the business and talked directly to the owner and was met with indifference. She said that the Instagram account was ran.by someone else and she would reach out before pushing my wife off the phone. It was eventually removed and replaced, sarcastically, with a picture of my children with yellow smiley faces blocking them. The Instagram account also blocked my wife who only asked for the pictures to be removed. It wasn't until after this that we saw that she also posted pictures of our children to FACEBOOK and those weren't removed. We tried calling again, during business hours, and the phone was off. So I went there and spoke to her myself. I explained to her that putting images of children is against Rhode Island law. After making me wait, she got on her own phone and all of a sudden had access. She deleted the pictures and I went on my way. I don't recommend this place unless you're a religious zealot looking to spend the afternoon with an insufferable Karen who thinks breaking the law is ok because she's "always done it."

Very disrespectful. The atmosphere was not relaxing at all. She needs to learn to treat people with professionalism and respect. We ended up walking out. We will never go back to "WEIRD GIRL"

We returned last weekend to do The Mausoleum. It was a blast!! The puzzles were very well thought out, pretty difficult and the ambiance was a lot of fun. His enthusiasm and wit were perfect for when we needed a hint to make it to the next section. He was kind and personable and never made us feel stupid, which I think is pretty important. Escape RI is really an adventure for those who take part of it.... The staff sends you into a themed, immersive game space filled with puzzles, and you have to solve them all in order to "escape" within the hour. Now after the pandemic, all games are private, so you only go in with people you know. The are several room and several types of experiences! While you play, the venue is being constantly monitored by a trained Game Operator, and an emergency exit is always available in case of discomfort or actual emergency. You are never locked in a room. The lights may get dim at some points, but there's no (intentionally) spooky music or sounds, no frightening pictures, and certainly no one is going to jump out at you. All surfaces are sanitized regularly by the staff. The base price to rent one of the rooms is $79 which includes two admission tickets, which is also the minimum number of players needed to play our games. Each additional ticket is an additional $29 per person. Each room has individual capacity limits. The smallest game room can hold up to 4 players, two of the game rooms can hold up to 6 players each, and the largest game can hold up to 10. Our group needed some help in some of the rooms with the puzzles and clues, so you can ask for help and the operator will help you with hints. At the end of the game, we did not Escape, but it was a fun experience about teamwork, leadership, puzzle solving, and much more.... LOL...
