Aaron from PB USA (upper field eqpt shack, I believe that was his name) was on me to write a review. Be careful what you ask for. Here it is! This is my fourth or fifth time here. I was reluctant to come back but, who could refuse an 11 yr old who wanted to celebrate his birthday here with 20 of his friends. I'm not sure if it's the power of social media or the amount of money I spent here but, they were very accommodating and did a much better job making us feel valued as a customer than before. Thanks PB USA! I was not looking forward to the check in process but, the gal checking us in did it efficiently and professionally. We hit a little snag however, when we got to the chest protectors (included with our groupon passes). They were not what was provided in the past. They no longer provide the zip up vests that covered the adults properly and over-covered kids. They replaced them with chest protectors that left adults feeling inadequately protected as compared to before. Especially when the chest protectors they now provide didn't cover me below my belly button (last thing you want is to get a welt around your spare tire region of which I have plenty). The chest protectors covered the kids better than the adults, which what was most important (especially when you feel responsible for the well being of kids who's parents were reluctant to send their inexperienced kids paint balling in the first place). (Note to PB USA). Some of the parents felt more comfortable with their kids in the old chest protectors than the new ones. These chest protectors are obviously a potential deal breaker for us to consider in the future. However, they tried their best to provide us with the old zip up one's (most of which didn't work because of broken zippers) just to make us happy. I appreciated the effort (especially by Rick (I believe that was his name) who searched hard to find us the old vest). In the end everyone had a great and safe time despite the hot weather (which, they should learn to control to my desire). I'll give you guys 5 stars since I know you guys will work on the weather issue after reading this review. One final note. I liked the old groupon deal that gave you 500 vs 200 paint balls (which translates to a $7.50 deal loss to us but, savings to them) and did I mention the chest protectors (and I don't want to have to buy my own). read more

Horrible customer service I was lied to about prices! I will not be coming here ever again! Horrible customer service all around! I was told $20 for 500 paintballs when I told the manager what I was told he said okay we will give you 200 paintballs for 20. Wtf why would I want that when $25 gives you 500. So messed up! Your better off going some where else! They didn't want to give me a refund because they didn't sell me their ticket, their employee did...ALSO their paintball guns suck we paid $10 extra for an m-16 every single one of us(7 of us) got one with a rubber band around the cartridge is, so that it doesn't fall out of place! This place used to be good (I would have given it 1 star), but unfortunately over the years they've dwindled down in costumer service and quality. They need to up their game ASAP. This place is an absolute joke. They have nothing but kids working here and when you get to the upper fields there is absolutely no supervision. We paint balled for 6 hours and they didn't chrono us once. Their fields are small and most of them look exactly the same. No outside paint is allowed but yet they charge $50 per box. We had a private game between me and my friends and about half of us had our own equipment but they wanted to charge the half of us $40 instead of $25 for having our own equipment, on top of the $150 field fee for a private game. Shouldn't it be less if we have our own gear? On top of everything their website says they have C02 and when we get there the receptionist says they don't do CO2 and that they haven't updated their website. Never again. read more

This place is awesome. I have been here 3 times now and finally decided it was time to write a review. All three times I have gone have been on a Sunday. The last two times I went to play I was there with big groups. The first was for my brothers birthday and the most recent was for my birthday. Both times we had about 15-20 people in our groups and our experience was pretty much perfect. We dealt with Mike, John, Spencer, and Jason all of whom were awesome. We had Groupons, made our reservations in advanced, got there early and had absolutely no problems. A few of our group members guns were not working correctly and the workers there quickly fixed the problems and got us back to having fun. They even helped me fix my personal gun I brought when it stopped working which was super cool! This is the only place to go play paintball! Can't wait to go back soon! BAIT AND SWITCH! I purchased a gift certificate for a 12-person session at Paintball USA via BiddingForGood.com through an online auction in support of a local non-profit organization. I planned to use it to take my son and his friends paint-balling for his birthday. I received a gift certificate from Paintball USA that clearly spelled out what the certificate included, and what it did not include. When I went to redeem the certificate and make a reservation, I received an email from April Schwartz confirming my reservation and referencing a $35 per player fee, which had not been mentioned anywhere on the original gift certificate. There was no fine print that I was overlooking, it simply did not state anything anywhere about a per person fee. I inquired about the per person fee, thinking I had already paid to cover up to 12 players, and April told me that there was a $35 per person paintball purchase fee and that I needed to re-read my certificate. At that point I emailed her a copy of the gift certificate, thinking we'd be able to refer to it together in our next conversation. When I called her to follow up she told me that the $35 fee was clearly outlined. However, according to what I was issued, that $35 covered the cost of CO2 and 500 paintballs. NOWHERE on my gift certificate was there ANY mention of this being a PER PERSON fee. Having never played paintball before, I took the certificate literally, which I explained to April. She then became offended that I would assume the fee would only be applied once and threatened to either: 1. report ME to BiddingForGood.com or 2. Cancel my reservation. She also suggested I request a refund from the online auction site. I could go on about our exchange, but bottom line is she told me she was canceling my reservation and that I should do business elsewhere, which is exactly what I chose to do!! I had no problem paying a per-person fee, my only point is that this fee should have been clearly spelled out in the fine print. PLEASE KNOW THAT IF YOU PURCHASE ANY PACKAGE DEAL OR GIFT CERTIFICATE FROM PAINTBALL USA THEY WILL CHARGE YOU FOR HIDDEN FEES AND MISREPRESENT THE TRUE PURCHASE PRICE OF THE OFFER. This is was my first time doing paintball and just that once i'm ready to go back again!! i bought my 6 all day passess, which included gun, mask, protective gear and 500 paintballs. the only extra money we paid for that day was to buy additionnal paint balls which were inexpensive. My son and his friends come here several times a year and always have fun. It seems to be a popular location, and Groupon has some great deals, but my son and his friends all have their own gear so it's just a $30 entry fee which includes unlimited air refills. This trip the refs did something a little different than in the past, where they played "self equipped only" games and "rental only" games. Elliott was super cool with our group, he was ready to go, and kept a outgoing attitude. Paintball USA in Santa Clarita, CA. It is ok for people new to paintball, but if you have been elsewhere, you will not like this place. It seems disorganized and run down. There are not enough refs and thus they have a hard time to pay attention. The groups got too big and again still only one ref. Didn't even get chrono for start of day for my own guns. Beginners group had no instruction given. Told you have to use there paint, but most brought there own and their paint was not very good, kept breaking in barrel. Went here on Sunday with my family and friends for the first time. We showed up at 10am and stayed untill 3pm. We played on the larger field and the top and were a little dissapointed at first due ti the fact the refs werent calling peopld out when they were shot or really paying attention at all. But then we went down to the smaller friends and got a ref named Racheal and she was awesome! She made sure to call when people were hit, to double check and make sure if people were hit and if we were having a good time over all!!!! Went paintballing for the first time at this place due to a Groupon deal. We were lucky that it was cloudy and cool for a late July trip. There was a lot of staff working and were very helpful when it came to asking questions. They kept groups moving for each 2-round game, so you could get a lot done in 3-4 hours. first time here today, and i have very mixed, contradicting, feelinggs i will start with the bad issues i have.. for starters, i bought tickets from one of their "salesmen" for a discounted price because he was going to local businesses offering them; so i bought 4 for future plans with friends. the three friends and i get there, and they say we have to each pay an additional $35...for what you ask? apparently, even though the ticket said it included "all day pass, gun, mask, air, 100 paintballs" we had to pay for 500 paintballs, armor, and air refills... okay for one we knew we were going to buy more paintballs since 100 wouldnt be enough..but the armor was unnecessary, the air was apparently already in the ticket, and this is just a gimick they play to make you pay for the full price or more then the supposed "discount" ticket. that ruined the rest of the day b/c that $35 was needed for yes some paintballs later which was not going to be more than $10, and lunch..so now were broke and hungy WONDERFUL next is the oganization/prices/etc..you have to go pay at a counter and get your paintballs..then walk left for the chest piece, then bacl right past the registeration for the gun, then back over for the mask; and when you refill your air tanks, they dont even fill it all the way, they tell you 3 is the max, yet when i have .5 left, they fill me to 1.5..alright thats cool and if you come with your own gun, paintballs armor etc, you still pay $30..b/c your not using THEIR stuff..okay why not charge $10 for admittance, and thats it why be so greedy??? id say out of 100 people there, MAYBE 12-15 had theirown stuff so they cant be losing any money.. anyway, most of the people that work there, at the counters/stattions/guns/armor etc are just a bunch of annoying bratty kids that dont make the place fun for the guests...the refferees on the other hand are all around their 20's, a HUGE help, a lot of fun, entertaining, friendly, and always there for questions and any issues you might have. the fields are all intelocking so you have to go between them during games sometimes to get to your field. all the fields are greatly designed and have good features. today was raining so it was a lot of fun playing like it was call of duty and such, but the mud was a pain. so overall, i might return, it was not a terible experience, but ive had better at field of fire so long ago; just have to go there to compare read more

this is my updated review the staff and the referees are we absolutely wonderful, they're friendly and they do absolutely everything they possibly can do to make you have a good day. unfortunately the fields are not well kept, and all the staging areas are dirty. for example,it would be nice if somebody went with a wet towel and wipe down all the tables. another example,when you're out on the field they're broken pods everywhere. the haystack field need more hey, the trench feel needs to be retrenched, somebody should throw away all the broken chairs and broken tables anyway I'm tired of suggesting to the management what should I should not do because they obviously do not care. read more

Went for my first time ever this past weekend with my siblings and we had a blast! If you've never been before, wear long sleeves and the protective gear provided! Those paintballs are no joke! We all got bruised up pretty badly but it was totally worth it! We had a great time and the courses are set up in such a great way. One field has trenches, another has a big bus to hide in. There are a ton of great features to the courses. You'll find yourself feeling like the American Sniper before you know it. Have fun! read more

Just went as walk ons in a group of 6. I had worked with April to have a reservation beforehand. Had a great time! The staff was great and very accomodating. 13 fields to play on. And we had some beginners, me included! There's fields at the bottom and then more fields at the top. Those are the fun bigger ones. Great chill referees and staff! There were a lot of groups of kids, but everyone seemed to be having a good time and very organized. read more

We haven't decided whether to go here or not but I am already disappointed. I bought a 1 hour party for 10 people coupon at the Ventura County Fair last summer and just called to book my son's 10th birthday party. When I called, I was told that the "coupon parties" are only available at 9am. If I want to do another time, I will need to pay $250 for a 2 hour party. Given that we live at least 30 min. away, I can't imagine trying to get ten year olds (and their parents) out there by 9am. Seems a little early for a party or to go shoot at each other anyway. There is a "Fine Print" section on the coupon but there is no mention of this early time. I had a feeling that the deal was too good to be true but my son really wanted to do this for his birthday so I got it. I am very disappointed that they refused to work with me on the time. I may have bought a deal this time but, if we had a good time, they could have made a lot more money off of us in the future. I am very disappointed in this lack of disclosure and apparent bait and switch. This is obviously a way to get people to upgrade. If the coupon would have mentioned this time constriction, I wouldn't have purchased it. read more

We saved a ton of money by using our Groupon for everyone! The refs were very nice and helpful (especially since more than half of us were first timers) and we were able to play all the fields we wanted to. After an extremely frustrating miscommunication, this review was either a) not going to happen because I was ready to pull my party, or b)going to be really ugly. BUT Although I am still unsure what really happened, my sons party came off really nicely, and none of the parents had any complaints at the end of the day. It definitely made a unique party, especially for the age that's past "Chuck E. Cheese's". It had rained the night before, making everything muddy-which was awesome for a group of mostly boys-but wasn't raining during, which I know made me happy. I can see where some of the reviews make sense-it seems to take a little while to get through the process, but for our party we had some stragglers, so that's why ours took a while to start. In the end, Mike, Erik, Dorian,and Jasmin saved the day, and by the end of the day it felt like I was dealing with friends. Thanks for pulling it around guys. read more

Good place as they can handle a lot of people. 7 fields and multiple modes though they tend to push everyone into elimination unless you are your own group. They aren't great about keeping first timers separate. Basically 50 cal players and 68 cal players. Beginners should pick 50. Also not great about getting people into regular rounds. Nice because you can take a break whenever you want but then it could be awhile before the next round. Never more than 20 minutes though. The environment are better then most places though. Great place to play overall. Field paint only. $65 for 2000 rounds. read more

Paintball USA is the best paintball field I have been to. This place unique with 10 fields to choose from, 3 downstairs and 7 in the top field. You can bring your own equipment, or you can rent everything from them. They have great deals on paint and many packets to choose from. Paintball USA is the arena of choice for my family every Saturday. You first have to check in downstairs, sign you waiver and pay. Look for Maria she's great! My favorite field is "the trenches" followed by "the jungle." If you are playing paintball for the first time I suggest you play at the top fields where you have 7 fields to choose from, and where you can find the friendliest and most helpful referees who are always there to help you. Look for Jason aka big J and Steven who are the head referees for the top 7 fields, they really know how to run the show! If they are busy look for Anthony he's always helpful! Paintball USA is the place to go, with the greatest deals, friendliest staff, and best fields. Head in over there, they are open every weekend. read more

Got the groupon with a group of friends, honestly I had a wonderful time all around. The fields were varied and fun, the equipment was awesome (we got body armor as well, how cool!) the referees were sooooooo chill, shoutout to the skinny white dude with long blonde hair! The management was AMAZING. Bea seriously was soooooo nice and helped us out with our registration and was super patient and kind with us. Can't thank her enough. I tripped and scraped my leg and Bea was sooo helpful getting me all the first aid stuff I needed and even let me use kneepads for the rest of the day! It's a cool place for scenario players but there speed ball field is trash they don't clean it any more and you can't lean on walls unless you wanna be covered in old paint but the refs are cool and I recommend to buy your own paint they charge extremely high for the paint but besides that its a ok place. read more

It was a truly enjoyable experience! Admittedly the sun was hot, sure, but what do you expect from a desert area? It's a great experience, and what else? They stay open in the rain!
