I've followed Dallas across salons for the last three years because he's that damn good. Now he's at Sect Hair Group in Scottsdale. If you've ever had a bad cut that left your hair with no shape and forced you to rely on too much product, Dallas is the answer. I came in with a video of an old-money men's cut with lots of layers (thick, slightly wavy hair), and he absolutely nailed it. The result looks effortlessly natural without heavy product... which, to me, is the sign of a thoughtful, high-skill cut. Even better: he cuts with the grow-out in mind, so it still looks great for months, not just for the first week. What separates Dallas is simple: he listens. He can replicate a video from your phone, but he also knows how to adapt it to your hair type and face shape so it works in real life. He even gave smart recommendations for facial hair to complement the cut. He's also genuinely a great person /always positive, easy to talk to, and you leave in a better mood. Super responsive and flexible with scheduling when needed. Value-wise? Completely worth it. A comparable stylist in Chicago charged ~70% more, and Dallas' results are SUPERIOR. Every time we raised concerns, we were told to come back in--even though we live 40+ miles away. There was never an apology, never accountability, and we always paid full price. Pricing was another major issue. The services were very expensive, prices increased without notice, and somehow the install cost was different every single appointment. There was no transparency or consistency. The hair quality was terrible. Excessive shedding was constant and unacceptable for the price point. When I raised these concerns, nothing meaningful was done to fix the problem. Color was the final straw. I repeatedly told Colette that I wanted a true brunette, yet she never adjusted the formula. My hair consistently pulled orange, despite me bringing it up multiple times. After three years of loyalty, her response to my concerns about not feeling valued as a client was to "gift" a free hair color--even though the color itself had never been done correctly to begin with. After we stopped booking, there was no follow-up. No call. No text. No attempt to make things right. It confirmed what I had already felt for a long time: I wasn't a valued client--just another body in a chair. My daughter eventually stopped allowing her hair to be colored altogether because the results were so bad, and the installs continued to fail. This salon may look polished on social media, but behind the scenes there is no customer care, no accountability, and no respect for loyal clients. I cannot recommend Enlightened Salon to anyone, especially for extensions or color.. I have spent literally thousands of dollars with her but never valued as a client.
