I appreciate just about everything at D'ambrosio! For many years my hairstyle was a bob. But even with a short bob my thick hair was unbearable during our Arizona summers. So I made the decision to cut it shorter ~ not quite a pixie though. I had already been to the shop for trims and blow outs ~ but I wanted a seasoned stylist for this big change. I was paired with Milana and that was a year ago. She has kept my cute style looking great AND she is also a wonderful colorist. I would not recommend Wendy, she seemed nice at first but did not listen at all to what I wanted done to my hair. She did the exact opposite of what I asked for and just did not seem interested in what I had to say. I just wanted a trim in a V cut shape (how my hair already was), however she cut it straight across. In order to fix it, she had to cut more hair than I had wanted. At the end she over charged me. I went in for a dry cut trim. She didn't wash my hair, nor style it at the end, it took 15 mins. I was charged $70. The price they have listed for $65 includes a wash, cut and style. How come my trim was more expensive? I do not recommend Wendy. read more

Kate Carbone is a life saver, hair magician, considerate, kind and gentle stylist. I had recently went to a new salon, and the results were horrible. So horrible that I was met with a depression that rocked my core. In the middle of a divorce when I needed to feel my most confident and best, I felt utterly ugly, gloomy, self-conscious, and unrecognizable to myself. I was recommended to Kalet by a friend, and upon calling the salon found out she was out of town, I begged, could anyone, I'll take anyone in the salon, I need a color correction and I need it fast as I am leaving the state and I knew my appearance would ruin my experience as it had ruined the five days I lived with this awful dye job from a separate salon that was not willing to refund it and I did not trust to rectify it properly. Kate had an opening, I saw her Instagram and immediately felt I was in the right place. I privately texted her the photographs so she could mentally and physically prepare for what she would see the next day. She was so understanding and for the first time I stopped crying and felt a glimmer of hope. It's amazing how much how your hair can affect you. it sounds so trivial but it truly had a mental impact on me in so many ways -And financially, when I was already in a position that treating myself to begin with was a splurge. She spent almost seven hours fixing my hair. In the end I ended up with a look I had been trying to achieve for years! -not just getting me back to a color I can live with, literally a color and style that matched my skin tone, the way my hair dries naturally, and I walked away with my hair not only beautiful but intact. She was so patient, and so diligent in making sure that my hair would not be compromised after being bleached and dyed to death almost a week prior. I hate that it took having to have my hair destroyed to find her, but I am thankful in a weird way that it did because otherwise I never would have. She deserves this review, and anyone who sees her should sing her praises here online, though selfishly I don't want her to get booked up too fast but what she did for me, I cannot help but rave and spread the word about her skill, talent, personality and true compitence about the science of color, and color correction. Thank you Kate for giving me my confidence back. My trip was wonderful, I felt like myself again and got to fully enjoy every experience throughout it because I did not have to worry about how I looked or feel the overwhelming darkness of Black and ash streaks I had met you with. Absolutely horrendous experience at the salon today. I made an appointment and when I arrived I was told that not only did they not have enough time to do what I needed and what I had booked myself for on the phone but also the lady was not qualified to perform what I needed. She said she was not able to blow dry long hair and the cut that she did on my hair came out abysmal. It absolutely has to be fixed and the reason that I scheduled this appointment with them today is because they have a big event this evening. I have a toddler so getting out of the house and getting stuff like this done is not easy for me and this was a really big blow to what should have been a very happy day read more

I went and got a partial highlight and cut three inches plus face framing. Because I had never been there before, the lady at the front desk asked me to describe my hair so she could schedule me with a good stylist for my hair type and needs. I'm a natural blonde that likes to lighten it up during the summer and I am always nervous about how it'll go with my natural color. My hair is also stick straight which poses its own challenges with haircuts. Michelle was so awesome and did exactly what I was looking for! I have been going to Kalet for the past year and a half. She is amazing! When I first came to her I had a huge build up in my hair from washing my hair with well water and she did a demineralization treatment that fixed it! I have also had her color my hair many different colors, bright blonde, strawberry blonde, and now a dimensional brown. My hair always looks and feels incredible when I leave. I was looking for a new salon in the area that wasn't ridiculously expensive, and D'ambrosio's did the trick! When I made my appointment thy asked me to describe my hair a little so they could match me to a stylist who would work well with my hair. I set an appointment with Vail and was happy with the outcome! I barely had to wait when I got there, and then the haircut itself was quick and exactly what I had asked for! I was done and had paid within 30 minutes of arriving at the salon. Only downside it that they only accept cash or check tips. I didn't see that anywhere on the website, but I never carry cash or checks on me so I think that's important to note! Otherwise great experience. read more

Today I had a treatment done at D'ambrosio and I love the treatment I had. My complaint is not about that. At checkout the receptionist tells me that if I don't pay by check or cash they now charge a 3.5% bank convenience fee for using a credit card or debit card. Are you kidding me!! I had just scheduled my appointment the day prior and the receptionist never mentioned anything about their "convenience fee". I asked when did this start and she said a few weeks ago. I asked why they are doing this and she said everyone else charges convenience fees and they decided to start charging the fee. Who is this EVERYONE (besides Ticket Master and similar online merchants). I go to a hairstylist outside of D'ambrosio and she doesn't charge me a convenience fee. So much for supporting go.. "local." If they are going to continue this, they should then start to offer for people to pay by Venmo or Zelle. 3.5% of your TOTAL SERVICE is BS (not including tip which already has to be paid by cash). Since I was shocked, she refunded me the 3.5% but just so I would know going forward IF I go back. read more

The decor is sleek and "clean." It wasn't really loud, which, as a beauty consultant, I find overwhelming if the music is too loud.
