I don't post many reviews so here is an extremely honest one. I got a haircut from someone at the salon, and it was botched and looked horrible. I told the salon how upset I was and how messed up it looked, and they took my concern very seriously, and actually did anything they could to try to fix it as soon as possible. I ended up coming back in to have it fixed, despite having my trust in this salon's choice in talent ruined. I ended up being pleasantly surprised. Breanna at the DC ranch location cleaned up this mess and I could not thank her enough. She worked magic when my hair was nearly unfixable. Obviously, it was not what I originally asked for/wanted. But Breanna gave me a style that is workable and doable until I can allow my hair to grow out. I am sooo thankful for her! and her assistant Savannah. So overall, I think Alfonso needs to have some kind of disciplinary action, whether he takes a mandatory cutting class or something else. I really appreciated the kindness, responsiveness, and urgency of the rest of the staff. Breanna and Savannah, thank you guys for being awesome and doing the impossible. I hope your salon's owner sees this and knows how valuable the two of you are to the franchise. I will be returning to Breanna in the future because she has truly gained my trust. This is the salon of my nightmares... literally!! BEWARE if you are a first time client. I got an absolutely awful haircut in March and I'm still dealing with the damage after 4 trips back to the salon, 3 haircuts, and two different people to try and fix it and it's still horrible!!!!! I don't understand how both these people are "master stylists" and could give such amateur uneven haircuts. I said no layers yet there are random lengths looking super choppy and long pieces that are stragglers that seem to be missed. And this salon is expensive!!!! I tried really hard to not write this bad review but after recently visiting home in CA and a family friend who is a hair dresser asked if I cut my hair myself because of all of the random long pieces I just couldn't take it anymore and have to warn others. I've hated my hair for months and have been self conscious at big events like my sons 1st Birthday and family vacations and at this point I have to just let it grow out and find a new salon to fix it. The hair color was not at all what I asked for or like the picture I showed but at this point whatever you can fix color- this choppy haircut is just unacceptable. I have an extra star because the managers I spoke with were really nice and empathetic but if you made it this far in my review you can guess I will never be returning to this salon after this horrific experiences. Be careful when you go to this place, they charge what they want so the prices they advertise are all lies. They charged me almost double what I paid the first time. Also, be careful what you ask for because they do what they want and then 3 weeks later, your hair looks awful. I had purple in my hair and have had it there for quite some time and when it was done 3 weeks ago, it was done incorrectly, so now I have a blue streak. I did not want blue, I wanted purple. I came in for a hair cut with inspo pictures and they nailed it! I love how airy, clean and bright the salon felt. Seemed pretty busy both days I went! I wanted to get my hair colored too and they managed to squeeze me in the next day and asked me to provide them inspo pictures. I let them know I had some box dye leftover and they did a test strand for 20min. After passing it, they started the balayage process. It took as expected 3-4 hours from entering the salon to leaving. However, I felt a bit awkward asking them to foil a few more strands in the front they missed. They don't blow dry and style your hair unless you ask them to with additional cost. I wanted to see the color and asked for that service. The balayage was more like highlights on top and a bit brassy than any of the pictures I showed them. The hairstylist let me know that I should come back in 8-12 weeks to get it lighter if I wanted to. She asked if I liked it and I didn't want to say no after 3-4 hours and switching stylist back and forth so I left and paid over $300. I think if you have thick black asian hair, I would find another salon to get it colored. In my past experience, there are ways to get to the color you want in a sitting. I just don't think they had set enough time for me. read more

I recently got one of the worst haircuts I've ever had at Rumors Seville location from Jennifer. The left side was thinned so much I have almost no hair on the left side, the right side is longer than the left side and was not thinned. It looks so bad, and is so short, I don't know what to do other than to wait 4-6 months to get it to grow out enough to hopefully fix it. Meanwhile, I just own it and when someone is looking at my hair, I explain I got a very bad haircut at Rumors. Oh, and don't go there! I would love to get my $120.00 back! read more

I was in Scottsdale visiting family. I'm kind of impulsive and I decided to cut and color my hair. I wanted a very different color lighter than my dark hair. I called Rumors Salon, never thinking I'd get an appointment, and was able to get in the same day. I had an appointment with Paige and she was amazing. She was so sweet and went through my hair with her fingers and discussed in detail what I wanted to have done. The massage with my shampoo was wonderful. I went to brandy to fix a terrible haircut. My first experience with her was great. Unfortunately I thought she would be able to cut my hair in a bang style. I was mistaken.She absolutely gave me the worst haircut of my entire life. She cut the entire crown of my hair off and left me with very little hair in back so my hair was literally a mullet from hell. My real hair looks like cheap extensions. It's been a year and I am still living a nightmare. She also knocked my brand new prescription glasses off her stand never stopped I had to stop her bend down and pick up my glasses that were scratched and unusable. She spent five minutes on my haircut forced me to let her style it terrible that took 30 minutes and then totally overcharged me for the awful experience. Went here for the first time to hairbylilyn to get my hair dyed and cut. We had small talk but I started noticing she would make rude faces at me while I was answering. All we talked about was what I did for work, my family and tv shows we watched. Nothing we discussed could have warranted the rude faces she kept making at me. I just pushed through the appointment because I needed my hair done for my birthday coming up. I loved my hair and went to recommend her to another friend and seen she had actually blocked me immediately after the appointment. Not a friendly experience at all with her. read more

Very disappointed with how much they have raised pricing. I came in for a partial highlight ($140) which I find very reasonable. However, they charge $50 for shampoo/blowdry and another $50 for TONER! I've been to many salons around the valley, and NONE have ever charged for toner. However, I conveyed that I had never had my hair done before, and explained I wanted full highlights and layers. I even confirmed that I was getting full highlights before my stylist began working on my hair. I assumed I was getting full highlights, but was charged for a balayage (which is more expensive). I had no idea she was doing a balayage on my hair, I had never done this before. My stylist did not say that's what she was doing nor did she ask me -- I assumed it was highlights like we discussed. Although it looks beautiful, I went in wanting full highlights because of the lower price. I already have blonde hair I just wanted it brightened up a bit for the summer. I was also charged for some kind of root service, that I did not ask for and was not told about until it was time to pay. I ended up paying over double the amount of what I expected to pay. This should have been communicated better and I feel that with my lack of knowledge I was taken advantage of. The work is beautiful, I'm just upset I paid double the price of what I was expecting based on their website prices. read more

I just went in for a consultation about a service and I got some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Before I even sat down, the stylist told me she wouldn't do my hair because she assumed it was dyed, and when I repeatedly told her this is my natural hair color, she kept implying I was lying. I understand not fulfilling the requirements for a service to my hair, but she was so unbelievably rude and offensive to me. I have always been insecure about my hair, and I left the salon feeling even worse about myself. To make matters even worse, she tried selling me products at the salon, as if I was going to give her any money after she offended me. Vivianne has done my hair in the past and she is incredible, color, extensions. All of it. She takes her time and it's always exactly what I want. I've never left unhappy which I generally hate my hair until I get home and do it myself. Not the case with Vivianne. However this review is for my 15 year old son's haircut. I needed to find a new Hair Stylist since everyone I had been using kept screwing up my hair. I initially went to the SEVILLE Salon and booked appointments with someone who had a very lengthy & impressive resume. I was shocked at how fast and haphazardly the stylist cut and highlighted my hair. My hair looked like I went to one of those cheap strip mall salons. The final straw was when I had the same stylist cut my husband's hair (a basic businessman's hair style) and the stylist totally butchered his hair. Imagine a 69 year old Doctor with a mullet. For some reason, I was drawn to Christian after seeing his picture and reading his Bio. Lucky us! Christian has cut, colored & highlighted my hair and also cut my husband's hair a few times now and we are both delighted with the results.
